The cabin is a quintessential log home with added ambiance of Persian carpets, a library stocked with novels and coffee table books, and a comfy place to curl up in front of a fire to read and relax. There is a trail on the property that leads up into the Green Mountain National Forest and the Breadloaf wilderness and past a waterfall. Swimming holes are along the route. Lovely rental as always. Great location with opportunity to enjoy local highlights.

Truly a well appointed, comfortable cabin!
Sits right adjacent to the National Forest, and is yet an easy drive to Warren and Wakefield if desired or needed for food and other provisions. This was a return visit. And, we'll be back again!

Very beautiful setting, nice rustic cabin. Was clean but a little spider webby. The sleeping loft beds were pretty comfortable and the hosts left a welcome basket with some treats. Wish we had a little more time to be here and enjoy the beautiful river across the way.

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed and look forward to returning soon. The cabin is comfortable and extremely well appointed. It is within walking distance from great plunge pools along a brook. The hosts are very accommodating. Highly recommended!

Stetson Hollow Cabin is a true cabin with character and comfort. This is our second time at this gem. It’s easily accessible to all things in the Mad River Valley, yet secluded. The host, Jill, is warm and welcoming. Always available within minutes - even when she’s traveling. Great place! Highly recommend for a needed get away for anyone.

My wife, dog, and I had a wonderful stay at Jill and John’s cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The hosts were very responsive to our needs. We wouldn’t hesitate to return! Thank you Jill and John!

Stayed here to access the Sugarbush ski area. Easy 10-15 minute drive with on-site parking at cabin. Super cute with fire wood provided for use in both the inside fire place and outside fire pit. Cabin abuts the river which makes a nice coffee spot. Easy access to hiking trails. Only things to consider is that beds require climbing a ladder to access so keep that in mind if people have mobility issues. Also no TV so bring your own device if you have something you would like to watch.

Very happy. Nice place. Thank you!

My family enjoyed our time in this adorable, well cared for cottage. We wish we’d stayed longer than just a weekend! Great location, close to Sugarbush. A bit of road noise though it didn’t bother us much.
Need to be agile to use the ladders to get in to the sleeping lofts.
Owner was super kind and responsive.
Hope to return next year!

Stetson Hollow cabin offered the perfect place for our winter weekend in VT - snow shoeing just outside the door into the woods, minutes from Sugarbush, and the cabin itself is cozy and cute. We had a great time and will definitely be back in the future!

Jill and John's little cabin in the woods was just perfect for our five night stay. They even organised a fall of snow to enhance our experience !! The cabin was cosy, warm and fiully stocked with all essentials. Jill came out to meet us as we were out walking and is a charing host. Thank you for a wonderful, restful break in your cabin.

My partner and I only had one day to get away from our “normal” lives and I’m so glad we decided to spend it in this cozy cabin! Everything was as advertised and then some! The fireplace is to die for and the small details such as the ladders up to the lofts, French press coffee maker and babbling brook all worked together to make this a short but incredibly sweet visit to the Mad River Valley.

Just what we were looking for in a rustic, well-appointed cabin. It had all the comforts of home, yet still fully retained an absolutely charming, cozy cabin feel.
Will definitely return!

Jill's beautiful cabin is located alongside a cascading stream in the scenic Mad River Valley. Despite the rain, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Sleeping in the lofts under the skylights makes for a unique experience -- just be careful climbing up and down if you need the bathroom during the night. Jill was friendly and responsive, and we would happily stay in this property again.

To be clear, this is a beautiful area and a lovingly cared for cabin with nice furniture and a cozy decor. But a few things should be more transparent in the description. First, the cabin is on a National Forest road right off a highway. The cabin sits directly at the bottom of the road. So essentially, there is a 50 MPH highway within about 30 feet of the back wall and windows, with plenty of traffic and big rigs flying by at all hours. So that side of the cabin is off limits in terms of enjoying the scenery out of doors. On the other side is a short walk to a view of a beautiful flowing river, but it’s inaccessible due to steep sides. The rest of the cabin area is surrounded by the owner’s house and outbuildings, which are “off limits” per the house instructions. So what you really have available is the use of the forest road through the owner’s area to access the forest property beyond the owner’s house. Now this, again, is a beautiful area surrounded by a raging, rocky river and forest. However, the owner’s description of the trail as a “serene walking path” is only true for about half a mile. Then the path becomes an unmaintained, mostly overgrown and flooded creek that was once a trail. “Bushwhacking” to get to the waterfall is an understatement. All in all, the cabin is nice and the area is lovely, but in terms of “enjoying the outdoors,” you’re very limited at this property.

We stayed over July 4th vacation. Me, wife, 5 YO child and 10 YO Fur baby. First things first - the loft sleeping areas are ONLY accessible by ladder like steps. There's a pull out couch on the first floor, but owner should make that piece of information available in the description.
Beautiful location - couldn't ask for more. Short drive to Sugrabush or Mad River ski resorts. Warren and Waitesfield are close and quaint. Excellent accessibility to waterfalls and river trails. The best feature was the trail into Natl Forest w/multiple swimming holes right behind the property.
It rained a little and the sound of the rain plus the sound of the brook was peaceful at night, broken occasionally by trucks or motorcycles (Cabin is right next to Hwy 100)
Cabin is stocked with Vermont local soaps and whatnot, including dishsoap and drying rack (there's no dishwasher).
The cabin has A+ super fast wifi, which is good cause there's no TV. Bring a computer or tablet if you want screens you can share. I'd recommend owner put in a cheap, wholly wireless, stream-only, TV for guest convenience.
Owner Jill could not have been more supportive and informative, even though it was also her July 4th holiday. And,as mentioned, place is very Dog Friendly.
Only complaint is guests should not be asked to pitch in upon departure. Since there's no modern conveniences in the cabin, owner should provide basic services of trash and linen removal.

Nice clean cozy cabin. Great location for hiking and local breweries. Dog friendly which was a big plus for us.

I was so grateful this property allowed dogs although we ended up getting a sitter for ours last minute. The cabin is adorable and my teens loved staying here with us. The place is very unique and close to towns we enjoyed such as Warren, Waitsfield and just an hour from Burlington which we made two day trips to. The 2 Sugarbush peaks are 10 (Lincoln) and 20 min (Mt Ellen) away so that’s easy and quick. Stetson Hollow Cabin is very well equipped and we loved how well stocked it was plus the owners welcome gift was much appreciated. The communication between host and renter was fantastic and we already hope to get back to the cabin soon!

Great cabin close to Sugarbush. Had every thing needed for a quick getaway! Fire place and wood stove made the experience that much better.
Great communication with the owners.
Clean and efficient.
Would definitely stay again.

We fully enjoyed our stay. Location couldn’t get better. The cabin is 10 min to sugarbush resort and walking trails right on the property. The cabin itself had everything we needed, bed was comfortable and the fireplace was a great bonus! Definitely will be staying here again!

Looking for a cozy cabin in the woods of Vermont to spend a long weekend. This was exactly what we were looking for and exactly as advertised. Jill was a wonderful host, super welcoming and helpful with answers to questions about activities in the area. Cabin was great, loved the big stone fireplace that we had roaring all weekend and the peaceful trail in the woods along the river behind the property. Everything was wonderful!

Stayed here with my girlfriend, we had a great 4 days. Jill and John were the best hosts and their cabin is exactly what we pictured when we planned our Vermont trip. 20+ “ of snow fell and we had a short power outage but that didn’t stop any of our adventures. We loved it there and highly recommend a stay at this perfect cabin! We can’t wait to come back again!

Great experience. Second time staying with Jill & John. Beautiful property. Very glad they share their piece of the Green Mountains with us.

What an incredible cabin in the heart of the Green Mountains. Perfect place to unplug and enjoy the beauty of rural Vermont. Jill is the consummate host, she made us feel welcome right away with some complimentary Vermont snacks and was always available with any questions we had.
This is truly the perfect spot for any season with beautiful trails surrounding, a great fire pit and the coziest cabin ever.
Would highly recommend.

It was our first time in Vermont and Jill and John’s cabin was the perfect place to unwind and take in the beauty of fall on the east coast. The trail behind their house is absolutely beautiful and was our favorite part of the stay along with the river right in front of the cabin. The location was perfect! We will definitely be coming back!

Loved the trail following the river right on the property. There's plenty of area for sleeping accomodations, beautiful reservation areas for hiking, and delicious food short distances away!

We stayed at the cabin for a second time. We love the location and the cabin is well equipped. It was a wonderful time , relaxing with the family.

With so much to see and do in Vermont, it can be overwhelming to decide on a home base. We recommend the Mad River Valley. Centrally located, Warren and Waitsfield are postcard perfect while Stowe, Burlington, Middlebury are less than an hour’s drive. But, with a cozy cabin at Stetson Hollow, you may choose to spend your trip experiencing rural Vermont fully by sitting in front of the cabin’s fireplace or venturing outside to sit by the beautiful rushing creek.
As mentioned in the Vrbo listing, beds are located in two lofts accessed by ladders. Queen sleeper and bathroom are located on ground level.
