Location good. Bed comfortable. Room clean. Directions given were simple. Supermarket and restaurant’s very close proximity, excellent pizza across the road. Towels provided, microwave, mini fridge, kettle and coffee machine, fan and tv. 2 hairdryers were provided but both smelled like burning and one sounded like it was going to explode
A warning about the 4 flights of Dutch stairs should be advertised before booking and paying, all handrails are loose.
Really bad smell from the drains in the en suite bathroom and one of the window blinds is broken so you were woken at dawn

Clean sheet and beds
1. absolutely steep stairs. We stored our luggage near Central Station. (extra 40 euro paid)
2. very hot room. The old windows can't be opened. No air conditioner system.
3. In front of a noisy local pub, we couldn't sleep until 3 o'clock.
4. No soap supplied.

Location was good, and it was very clean.
It was too hot and no AC.

Bed was good and the room was different as Amsterdam has different architecture and design of home
bathroom needs a plumber with a worm to do a big flush of the down pipes as the bathroom had that rotten drain smell also locks need tightening as one was lose and one was sticky

Great location.
The room is way smaller than it looks in the photos. Bathroom is tiny as well. We were 2 girls with 2 suitcases, and no space to put our things anywhere. In top of that the ceiling is inclined at one side, so we kept on banging at each other. The apartment is on the 4th floor and the stairs are ridiculous steep. Definitely doesn't work for someone with knee problems and suitcases.

room was lovely, and very clean. great view and very comfy bed!
only thing was that the bathroom smelt a lot, but maybe just a plumbing issue. Stairs were a killer, but you get used to them. be careful they’re very steep.

Going for a one night stay in Amsterdam, on December 30th, 2022 and looking for a comfortable and fair price accommodation, I run into this one: good pictures, position ish too, so I place the reservation.
A couple days before the arrival, I receive a message from the host that may not be there for the check-in, and explains how to do it autonomously. Check-in time is usually starting 14:00, I ask if it is a problem being there a bit earlier around 12:30; quick answer, it should be fine to arrive a bit earlier.
On the way to the building, I text again the host, who confirms everything is in place and ready. I arrive at 13:16, on the staircase it smells like humid, mold and chlorine all the way to the 4th and last floor, where the room is. Steep stairs, typical of the city, carrying the luggages isn’t easy, on the opposite it is quite tricky with very tall and thin steps.
Once in the room, the smell of chlorine is even stronger than on the stairs and there is a hole in the wall, next to the toilet. The cleaning isn’t the best at first sight, without looking for a 5 stars hotel treatment, but this is what I find next:
- First drawer, with a strange stain, some dirt and hair
- The last drawer is full of empty plastic bottles, like somebody is collecting garbage where I’m supposed to put my clothes
- I open the bin in the bedroom, it is full with garbage
- I look at the bed, and there is a big hole in the centre of the bedsheets and hair all over
- The toilet is small, there is a horrible old wood footstool loosing paint, but maybe it is the taste of the host. I realise there were no pics of that toilet when making the reservation
- There is a bin next to the loo, I open it: full with garbage, I can see immediately used tampons and I don’t even imagine what else. On top of this, not even a plastic bag.
I am tired, disgusted, I feel there is no care for the guest and I can’t think of staying there overnight.

it comfortable and clean.
the shower was like a little dribble and the blinds on the windows didn’t work at all. The light in the morning woke you up.

Very close to the city center (15min walk), tiny but comfortable apartment, very good contact with the host, almost vertical stairs (REALLY!) were nice city-related experience (typical for Amsterdam's tenements), however I do not recommend using them with a huge suitcase ;)
Small things that might improve the experience a bit if added: cloth hanger, mirror (there was one in the bathroom, but we could see our foreheads mainly, bigger one in the hall), mugs, some desk or table top - basically a place that you can put your belongings

quiet and great location for Westerpark
the steepness of the stairs to the room on the 4th floor. dangerous if you are carrying anything

Close to the center. No problems with the check-in.
Uncomfortabley cramped room with very cheap furniture. Small bathroom with poor ventilation and barley enough space to use the toilet properly.

Good location, comfortable bed. Good basic room for staying in Amsterdam. Nice to have a fridge and coffee machine.
Stairs up to the 4th floor are extremely steep and dangerous. Mirror in the bathroom was too high up and I'm not particularly short!
A fan would help in summer as it is opposite a bar so noisy with windows open.

Being on the 4th floor wasn't good and the stairs were horrendous, almost vertical.
The room was clean as we're the bedding, towels etc
The location of the room, as stated the stairs were horrendous

Coffee machine in the room
Cleaning is absolutely disgusting - a deceiving 35€ cleaning fee was charged for no reason; the floor was dirty, using a fan a cloud of dust appeared in the air; even the glasses were not properly cleaned; during stay nobody cleaned the place - I wonder if that applies to a longer stay.
Bathroom without the minimum conditions

Good communication with host! Good location as well!
The bathroom smelled a lot of mould. For us it was quite intense, and the smell spread to the room once you opened the door.

Room was clean, nice and airy with the windows open. Bathroom was okay. Beds comfy enough. Good communication with host.
There was no bin or clothes rack in our room. Bin was given to us on request but clothes rack had been broken we were told. The only mirror in the room is one in the bathroom that is about 5ft up the wall, my girlfriend had to go down to the next floor hallway to use the long mirror for her makeup.
Big gaps under the doors so you could hear and be heard speaking by anyone on the same floor and one below.
The stairs are incredibly steep, even for Amsterdam standards, it became increasingly tiring after 3 days getting up to the 4th floor.

I liked waking up knowing that I wouldn't spend the rest of the day there. It was a place to stay overnight.
Upon opening the door which was a struggle as the lock is slightly strange, the steep stairs allowed us to crack our necks while we looked up at the top. They were extremely narrow and there were 4 flights of them, no more than 4 inches of foot room, so good luck for those with suitcases. The room was poorly supplied needing us to go out and purchase goods, the bathroom was narrow and uncomfortable. The shower was cold 9 times out of 10, and the lock on the door to the bathroom was broken. The location was surrounded by graffiti, a rather sketchy shop with friendly staff. There were no coat hangers in the room either, which allowed us to improvise by hanging our clothes on bolts in the wall. Also, the doorstop (which was placed in desperation) is a screw an inch or two above the ground. So look out for that. The fridge was very small which only allowed us to stock a few cans and bits and bobs. Also, the kettle wasn't able to reach the plug, so we had to boil it on the floor. This was a gruelling process, after the kettle wouldn't go under the bathroom sink. So we would have to go through this stupid process just to enjoy a hot drink by filling up glass wear, mixing and matching. I regret not taking more images of the room as it really was quite awful.

the sheets and towels
the stairs are awful and so steep that you can break your neck going up and down 4 levels.
the room was dirty and the bathroom stank enormously. the garbage had not been emptied and there was no toilet paper
the room was hot and muggy under the roof and when you openend the window there was loud street noise from a nearby cafe until 2am
The price is totally overrated for a dump like this

The location was good, it was clean, there were free tea and coffee in the room, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom, clean towels. We went in February, the weather outside was cold, but in the room was very warm.
The stair to the room were very steep. The toilet in the bathroom was not very comfortable for high people. There were two pieces toilet paper for 5 days and there wasn’t a place where you can get more

Fairly small and spartan accommodation, but good value for money. Also, the location is great, few steps to Harlemmerdijk, Harlemmerplein, very close to the Westerpark area, walking distance (10 mins) to Central Station, loads of pubs and restaurants.
Fairly small, although being close to the center can be a bit noisy at night. Stairway is steep, in historical building style. Be careful when carrying your suitcase(s) upstairs :)

Absolutely and honestly nothing from start to finish
Me and my girlfriend had one of the worst experiences at The Westerpark Suites in Amsterdam.
Let me start by mentioning that one’s feet don’t even fit on the width of the stairs which lead to the room, making it unaccessible with our luggages! Getting the lagguages two storeys up and down was a nightmare as one could easily fall off the whole flight. The room was so small and grievously dirty. The carpet on the floor was full of dirt that we had to keep our shoes on the whole time. The bed still hadd the dirty sheets and undone as the previous guests had left it. The floor under the bed was the dirtiest i’ve ever seen. Weeks of Several dust and hair balls, plastic bottles and coins leftover from the guests that had stayed before us. The microwave and the coffee machine where disgusting as the pictures testify and as one can clearly see the room was not cleaned or prepared before our arrival as one would normally expect!! To us this was just a shock knowing that we payed over a 1000€ for this said ‘apartment’ which turned out to be a room. The rubbish bins were all still full and the handles of the heating system falling on and off as you try to adjust them. We spent the whole week using the same 2 towels and only given new ones because we asked for them and had to empty the bins ourselves too. Not once were we asked if we needed any assistance or the room to be redone. Before we left the owner mentioned that we were given the wrong room. He didn’t even remember when we arrived or that it was the day for us to checkout. ON THE LAST DAY!!! How do you run a place for people to stay when you don’t even know who is coming or going and giving out the wrong rooms.
I wouldn’t even call this an apartment as advertised lol!!
I would not recommend it to anyone it was one of the worst stays ever!!! Definitely overpriced and disappointing, dirtiest of all and such a fraud!!

Location was super handy and the host was very accommodating and helpful, communicating regularly and well.
The state of the property could do with some improvements, there were dead mosquitoes visible on the walls and ceiling, a wasp infestation, the WiFi was very patchy (I had to use my personal hotspot on most occasions), the (only)mirror in the bathroom was too high for me to use, there were no hangers/somewhere to hang clothes, the property could invest in some new towels (stained). The steepness of the stairs (which are mentioned, so I knew I advance) are quite challenging with heavy luggage.
