This oceanfront Kohala Coast home with breathtaking coastline views offers the ultimate setting for a once-in-a-lifetime escape to paradise. Decorated in a tranquil, elegant island style, it features two primary suites, central air conditioning, and two stories of covered lanais for full enjoyment of indoor/outdoor Hawaiian life.
A sprawling great room boasts vaulted ceilings, an abundance of inviting seating, and a substantial flat-screen television. The living space flows effortlessly into a formal dining area for eight, which in turn transitions seamlessly into a gorgeous, fully equipped kitchen with bar seating. Wireless internet, a Sonos audio system, and a large laundry room with a washer, dryer, laundry sink, and additional refrigerator ensure that guests have all the conveniences of home.
One spacious primary bedroom with a king-size bed, large flat-screen television, spa-like en suite bathroom, and dedicated office space (with a printer/scanner/fax) occupies the entire upper floor of the home. A downstairs primary also offers a king-size bed, large flat-screen television, and full en suite bathroom. Both feature spectacular ocean views and open directly onto covered lanais. This was an absolutely amazing home and an even better location. We would stay here again!

We booked based on all of the 5 star ratings and it certainly delivered. The house was not only immaculate but stunning. The beautiful woodwork was top notch and the flow of the house perfect. The kitchen was so well stocked, labeled and organized. Everywhere was extremely clean. I was having trouble with stairs so my husband and I took the master suite on the main floor. My daughter took the master suite on the second floor. Both had amazing views. The owners thought of everything including black out window coverings. Our 3 teens headed out to the beach and swam. The beach is shallow and protected. The house is close to other beaches with great snorkeling access. The few neighbors were quiet. We enjoyed the snorkel books they had so we could identify the sea creatures we all saw. In their front yard was an easy accessible hose to wash off all of the sand from our swim clothes & snorkel gear. They also had an outdoor shower to help although we didn’t need to use that. The owners seemed to think of everything. The washer/drier worked very well. One night, our son got a stomach bug. We cleaned up and called the property managers in the morning. They were so kind and offered condolences right away. The carpet cleaners came out within the hour! Initially, we had a slight problem with the garbage disposal but it was immediately fixed by maintenance. We were all very reluctant to return to our home on the mainland – we had such an enjoyable time.

Luxurious house and interior. Not overly decorated and had plenty of amenities in good condition.
A lot of variety of drink-ware and good amount of plates and cups.
Bathroom/shower/bath towel sets were good, except for the second floor bathroom drainage issue and the shower handle issue, which the Mngt team resolved immediately.
Kitchen cook sets were all scratched up (pots, pans, and rice cooker) which was a big disappointment for a facility of this price range; however, when I requested to replace pots and pans, the management team immediately followed up with new ones the next day (I didn’t ask for a replacement of the rice cooker.) unfortunately, the replacement cook set may have been a cheap one as the coating of one pot already started chipped off after boiling noodles (no hard utensil was used during the usage.)
2nd floor bedroom movement can be heard from the 1st floor master bedroom clearly at night, which was disappointing.
Check in/out instruction and communication was clear and informative.
Overall, the house was pleasant to stay in and the management team’s support was top quality.

The house is in a fantastic location on the water with a beautiful view and immediate access to the water. There is a store across the street for items and you are only 15 minutes away from Waimea or other locations with restaurants, so it is extremely convenient to stay here. The house itself is clean and spacious and well supplied. Grandma enjoyed waking up early and spending time on the lanai to watch the waves come in. Wish we could have stayed longer!

This is a gorgeous, well kept, well-appointed property on a peaceful area of coastline that is away from the melee of the resorts. The house sits right on the ocean, on a tiny inlet which is home to a population of turtles. We were here for Christmas and it was very peaceful and relaxing - beautiful bedrooms overlooking the ocean. If you are here at a busy time of year, definitely ask for information about activities/ reservations etc as it gets very booked up and must all be reserved in advance. Would definitely recommend it.

This property is so wonderful, it's hard to describe! The house itself is beautiful, well-stocked, and perfectly located. The view is right onto stunning tide pools, where we watched a turtle come hang out every day and small fish dart about - and in the distance, saw a large ray splashing in the waves. The house is the most rental-friendly I have ever seen, with clear instructions and labeled drawers. Lots of books on the local area line the shelves, and the garage has beach equipment and chairs. Also, if you like paddle boarding or kayaking, this house is in the perfect spot to put out into the ocean.
The location is utterly perfect: 10 minutes from Mauna Kea Beach Hotel where you can have lunch, golf, or sit on the beach, and 10 minutes in the opposite direction from the Mauna Lani development with excellent restaurants, golf, beaches, and shops. Even better, right across the street is the General Store, so we could walk over for groceries like coffee, milk, wine, snacks, and to-go meals.
Again, this house is unbelievable. We had the best vacation there. I would recommend to families with or without children (kids would love it, and there's lots of art supplies), couples trips... basically anyone would love it. An amazing place.

This house is beautiful, better than the online presentation. The location is quiet, calm and peaceful. Snorkeling right in front of your home is so convenient and watching the turtles & ferrets was so fun! The support staff was helpful, pleasant and accommodating. We'll be back!

Paradise found
My friend and I had a fantastic vacation with whales jumping right off shore, rainbows & sunsets, and easy access to snorkeling throughout Puako at public access points. She had never been to Hawaii and I must say, she couldn’t have stayed at a better place to take it in. Property management was great and responsive. Place was very well equipped indoors and with beach supplies. Would definitely stay here again if it’s available.

Lovely home with all the things one needs for an enjoyable beach vacation. Well stocked kitchen, everything labeled. Beach chairs and umbrellas appreciated as was the second refrigerator ( great for cold drinks. )Two of the bedrooms are spectacular but the third bedroom is far less nice, twin beds , no view, less privacy off the kitchen.

Fabulous stay at a lovely home.
Our family of four adults stayed here in September and loved it. The home is situated on a beautiful private stretch of beach, has lovely furnishings, and the size made us feel like it was a true home away from home. Note that you are charged a non-refundable cleaning fee and a concierge fee regardless of whether you avail yourself of concierge services which is generally not the case with other luxury properties we've stayed at. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay and would return here again.

They really have rolled out the red carpet for us. Every soap bottle is filled and every towel is placed with anticipation of your need. This is without exaggeration the nicest vacation rental we have stayed in. We didn’t want to ever leave the house. If you are into a morning swim, then look no further. You could swim out at any moment, day or night and see thousands of fish, rays and turtles. Bring an underwater flashlight and go out at night. The reef explodes with life and everything is out eating dinner. The neighbors are a delight and so welcoming. Made us feel like moving here. We will be back!

Puako Paradise
I had an amazing stay from 1/12/18 to 1/20/18. The house and location surpassed all my expectations. Watching sea turtles swim around in the back yard right at my feet was simply amazing. The care taker was great and promptly answered text messages or emails. I hope to return next year.

This place spoke to my soul!
I recently stayed at this Puako home for 5 nights with my two daughters. Holly greeted us when we got there to go over all the details of the house, the stay and the area which was very nice. It is an amazingly beautiful home which is spacious, and tastefully and serenely decorated.The beds are so comfortable and sleeping to the sound of the waves was so wonderful. Being right on the beach was amazing! I am so glad I stayed here rather than at a resort complex or in Kona. The peace and quiet of Puako was desperately needed and sincerely appreciated. I have stayed at many beachfront properties and I think this one is my all-time favorite!

Perfect Beach house!!!
This home is just simply perfect! The open living area and back covered porch and oceanfront is where we spent all of our time. It was so easy to be prepping meals while watching kids tide pooling. We rented kayaks to be delivered and had great fun exploring the Puako Bay Area. We enjoyed visiting with neighboring renters as well as full time owners each night at sunset. Oh- and being right across the street from the general store was heaven for us all also- we spent so much less time in the car this vacation than ever before!

First Class- Puako
Having rented many high-end homes in Hawaii, I have to say, this home is the best stocked, organized and most comfortable and esthetically pleasing. From spices to snorkeling equipment, everything you'll need is there. Everything was luxurious and plentiful - soft linens, comfortable sofa, good mattresses and lighting. The owner has done an exceptional job of hospitality. No skimping on supplies or quality. All the little things that make your stay hassel-free, comfortable and lovely! My husband and I stayed two weeks in November and were very pleased with this home and it's beautiful location.

Puako Magic
A beautiful home awaits! We enjoyed our stay immensely--from morning coffee on the lanai to the gorgeous sunsets, each day held new discoveries. We watched each morning as a small flock of night herons flew out over the tide pools and landed on the lava, watching and waiting patiently for their prey. One morning, one of them caught a fish and swallowed it whole, right in front of the house (got some great photos)! There was a parade of wild turkeys that sauntered by, and there were myna birds clowning around with their raucous calls. Watching the honu (Hawai'ian green sea turtles)--so graceful in the water, so lethargic on land--and all manner of tropical fish made for hours of enjoyment. We saw a peacock flounder hiding in the sandy bottom, a snowflake eel, schools of Moorish idols, numerous butterfly fish, yellow tangs and many, many other species during our snorkeling and kayaking excursions. As if that's not enough, each evening brought another day-ending masterpiece over the Pacific. Truly magic!

Perfect accommodations!
We spent a week at the house with our family of six, and it could not have been more perfect! The house is even lovelier in person than it is in the photos; with a very open floor plan and so tastefully decorated. The waterfront location, short drive to beautiful beaches, and the market across the street made every day easy. I highly recommend this property and would stay again!

Beautiful Home
This home was perfect for a family of 6. It is beautifully decorated, extremely clean and comfortable, the kitchen is amazing, the views...well, you have to come and see for yourself. It is right on the ocean in Puako, across the street from a great General Store, and about five miles from a larger store (Foodland). There are plenty of beach things to use...beach/water shoes of many sizes, and boogie boards. The owner is wonderful, as is the local caretaker. Holly and her husband Peter, take great care of this home and make sure that your vacation is trouble free. We loved this home and hope to return someday!

Completely Special As Advertised !
The house design and furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. You're immediately drawn in with it's open Hawaiian themed decor and incredible front exposure to Puako Bay. The views and proximity to all kinds of real vacation recreation can not be beat. My only hesitation in absolutely raving about this place is being able to book it again in the future. It's a real gem!

Great Location, Great Accomodations
The house was as pictured on line with 3 full suites. The views out the back were fantastic along with the sound of the waves. Sunsets were all we had hoped for. Kitchen had plenty of pots, pans and utensils along with basic (and some not so basic) pantry items for stay-at-home cooking. The little store across the street had most essentials but a trip to the supermarket in Waimea or Kailua Kona netted larger selections. Kawaihae is a little town just about 15 minutes north with shops and fresh fish available. The Original Big Island Shaved Ice Company food truck in the Blue Dragon parking lot is not to be missed! Eating breakfast and dinner out on the lanai was fantastic! The rental manager Holly was very helpful and pointed out local sights and things to do. It should be mentioned that we were there during the hurricane/tropical storm Iselle which put a bit of a dent in our adventure, but everything worked out well. The house had bikes, snorkeling equipment, coolers and other things that made day trips easy or just hanging around fun. The water right out the back was not deep, but during high tide you could walk/swim out to deeper water. At low tide, you could walk out 30 yards or so on the volcanic rock and see lots of sea urchins, coral, small fish and several times sea turtles. Fortunately someone recommended water shoes which are a must on the volcanic rock.
I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a less touristy location but within easy walking/biking or driving distance to great beaches, Volcano National Parks, Akaka Falls and so forth while being able to just sit, relax, and listen to the ocean all day if that's what you want to do.

Amazing place to vacation!!
Fantastic stay at this Puako home. The beds were fabulously comfortable and the showers spa-like and hot after a "hard" day snorkeling along the lava reef in front of the house. It was the so amazing to wake up, grab a cup of coffee and wander across the lawn to the beach every morning - a 30 second stroll. What a way to start each day! Everyday there were giant sea turtles basking on the lava or swimming in the tide pools in front of the house. The neighborhood is wonderful, peaceful and friendly. Love the General Store just across the street - a mini grocery that you can run to in your swimsuit! Cannot say enough about how magical this place is. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family over ANY hotel any day! Even learned to stand-up paddleboard here. Thank you for a great vacation experience!

We just got home from an incredible vacation at this beautiful home in Puako.
We were one of 3 couples who shared this wonderful, immaculately clean, fully stocked home that was right on the ocean with its own beach right in front.
Based on the description of the home, we were expecting a real nice home. We were not disappointed. In fact, the home was even nicer than we imagined! It was perfect, fantastic & so clean. All the furniture was so nice, beautiful & comfortable (both the indoor & outdoor furniture). The decorations were exquisite, the etched glass doors beautiful as was all the art work! The owner obviously cares so much about her home & wants it to be perfect for her guests. We felt like cherished guests. We felt at home right away. Holly, the manager came over and made sure everything was ok. She answered our questions, gave us lots of great information about the area, & made us feel very welcome. The gardener brought us fresh delicious bananas!
Everything was there... Very comfortable couches & chairs, big screen TV, beautiful big dining room table, AC, 2 big clean refrigerators with ice makers & one wet bar refrigerator!
The kitchen had everything you would want, utensils, spices, coffee grinder, knives, paper towels, storage bags, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, etc.
The laundry room was excellent too. Laundry detergent, big nice clean washer & dryer. There is a supply closer in the laundry room that has extras of everything, toilet paper, paper towels, light bulbs, Kleenex, etc.
The bedrooms were wonderful too. The beds were very comfortable, soft lovely sheets and nice soft towels. There were even lots of hangers for your clothes!
The bathrooms were big & beautiful, lovely granite counter tops & travertine shower walls. The showers are big & as with everything in the home, very clean!
We loved being across from the General Store. We could just walk right over & get whatever we wanted or needed! I ran out of limes for Mai tai's. The limes at the General Store were actually 30 cents cheaper than Foodland, a major market on the Island!
The snorkeling in Puako was the best we have experienced in Hawaii. We swam with turtles and lots of fish every day! We swam at the end of the road where there is a pretty easy way to get into the ocean.
