Great place for large or small groups, split between two houses, with shared, heated pool, well-maintained grounds with pétanque, bikes and trampoline. And well-equipped kitchen for large, long meals at outdoor table. Lovely mix of sun and shade. Near beautiful villages for dinners and prolific tomato/melon farms. Owners live on site, there to help with advice and otherwise not seen. Good for kids (3-13) and families.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. Having first spent 4 hectic days in Disney this was the perfect place for rest and relaxation.. The pool was a huge hit as was the table tennis and fishing. Plenty to keep the children happy and lots of space indoors and out. Even in bad weather we could all sit around the same table playing games. Perfect for large family groups (there were 15 of us). Marie and Patrick were on hand to help and advise.

Perfect holiday
Wow! Could not have asked for a more perfect holiday with family of 10. The property is magnificent with all the modern amenities needed for everyone to be comfortable and relaxed. The maison and mill house have been updated and appointed with care. The property is well maintained and serene. We enjoyed the pool and the fussball and ping pong were a big hit! We even took out the bikes for a spin. Location was ideal for the region and our hosts were wonderful and available. They were kind enough to pick up a cake for a 60th wedding anniversary surprise. We highly recommend this property and would love to return one day. Merci!!

After a very doubtful outlook that our holiday would proceed following the outbreak of Covid 19, we were very fortunate that rules were relaxed just 2 weeks before our departure which allowed us to travel.
The location was a perfect quick 20 min drive from the airport. We were greeted on arrival by Marie and 6 bottles ‘du vin’ welcomed us!
We were 4 family friends sharing both properties. The 7 children aged 10 - 16 had so much to entertain themselves, the glorious pool, bikes. football, table tennis, table football and they spent many hours fishing with their Dads!
Cycle rides to Issigeac, Castillonnès and Eymet.
The Dordogne region was easily reached and we all spent a lovely morning Kayaking.
Our evenings were spent dining outside at the large table and we were often visited by a neighbouring Labrador ‘Charlie’ who the children had fun with. We also had a few visits from Marie’s pet hen!
A lovely week, Marie and Pierrick gave us complete privacy but were on hand to help with anything or give advice.
Thank you again
Chris

Beautiful french country getaway
I would highly recommend this property.
It was a perfect place to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends. The Manoir is absolutely beautiful. There was lots of space for 12 of us and had all the facilities we needed. The rooms were spacious. The outdoor area is perfect and was great to have use of bbq's and bikes.
The games available made the stay fun..... including boules, table-tennis, balls, foosball etc.
We spent each afternoon in and around the pool which made this stay even better.
There was some lovely villages close by to explore as well as local markets and a visit to a vineyard with a tasting.
Marie was lovely and very helpful in answering any questions in the lead up to our arrival.
Our stay exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it!

A very relaxing family getaway with a group of fifteen aged 12 to 85 years
Our family have just spent a wonderful week at ‘Grand Augue’ Manoir & Mill in Lalandusse. The Manor is a thirteen century building which has been restored beautifully in keeping with its old style although it contains very welcome modern bathing facilities with very decent shower units. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils a group may need and a large oven and hob. The mill is modern with a bright well equipped kitchen. Beds in both properties are very comfortable. The gardens and pool were the highlight for us. The large tables worked very well and plenty of umbrellas were welcome there and by the pool. Table tennis was a big hit as well as Boules, the trampoline and pool. In the really hot weather the Manor provided a cool place for us all to sit, chat, read, play cards and /or table football. Barbecues x2 available for use.
What we also loved about the place it is so close to many beautiful bastide villages, chateaus and the Dordogne river. Local Markets can be found on most days in one village or another in the surrounding areas. So much to see and do that a week was not enough but still very worth it. Enjoyed tasting lovely wine.
Marie & Peirrick were excellent hosts, ready to help us if needed before and during our stay.
Marie booked a wheelchair from a medical equipment supply shop in Eymet village for us before we arrived which proved very useful for our group member who could not walk long distances. Important to note that all the bedroom are on the first floors of each building therefore not accessible easily for a wheelchair user.
We loved our stay here and would visit again without hesitation...

Fantastic holiday!
We were a party of 18 comprising 9 adults and 9 children. We all had the most amazing time here. The properties were absolutely beautiful as was the pool and the gardens. Bob showed us around on our arrival and explained everything we needed to know. We spent many an hour by the pool and also visited some of the local markets and chateaus. A truly memorable time had by adults and children alike....

Charming, quiet, spacious and glorious!
A lovely couple of properties which housed the 13 (aged 5 - 45) of us beautifully. Gorgeous grounds and the pool is fabulous - a great size for us all, even though we could barely get in once all our inflatables were in situ!
We ate all together most nights using the lovely tables and chairs. We used the main house kitchen which was excellent. Well equipped and user-friendly.
The kids made good use of the bikes (really good) ping-pong table and footballs, but do also take your own games and things you want as our crew wanted inflatables, bows and arrows, card and board games and so on. Lots of dvds if that's your thing.
Beautiful area with lots of lovely towns and villages to explore. Supermarket 10 mins away, bar and pizza place 5 mins away (great pizza)
Robert and his wife were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. We all loved it. Very likely we'll be back, I should think!

Another wonderful holiday!
This was our 2nd stay at le Grand Auque. We came here 2 years ago as a big group & enjoyed it so much, we couldn't wait to come back. There is plenty of space inside & outside for games, water fights, or just to escape for some quiet time (there were 24 of us). The houses are well stocked with enough crockery, cutlery etc & the table tennis, games room, treehouse etc were favourites with kids & adults alike. Bob was always on hand if needed. We especially loved the little touches such as local wine in each property. We will hopefully be back in the future! Thank you!

Grand Auque provided the perfect setting for 7 families to relax and enjoy each others company without being on top of each other. The accommodation is wonderful, full of character but extremely well maintained with all the modern conveniences thought about and provided. It's a truly magical place, wonderful weather, great pool (our kids ranged in age from 6 weeks to 10 years and all enjoyed it!) beautiful grounds, with an exciting treehouse and games loft and even some bats in one of the out buildings that we all loved to visit quietly in the daytime! The area is full of interesting little towns with markets every day but many of our party didn't leave the house and grounds. Bob is a wonderful host, organising a buffet from a local charcuterie and a cake for a birthday celebrations and the local pizza's a La Landusse come highly recommended! This was a very special dream holiday for our group of friends and we really hope to be back!

Such a lovely place!
Houses, gardens, pool - all perfect - clean, well-maintained and well-equipped.
We used the Grande Manoir as the base for cooking and eating for all 28 of us. It easily accommodated all of us seated at tables and the kitchen had plenty of (large) appliances and good condition equipment (eg. new chopping boards, sharp knives and lots of both).
The expansive lawns were perfect for large games and generously decorated with flowers (which we were asked to water during the heat wave). Sitting under the huge trees was blissful when we needed shade and a cooling breeze.
The pool was lovely with SEVENTEEN sun loungers and a few pool toys.
The kids made use of the bikes (so many, in all sorts of sizes), we attempted to fish (nothing caught!) and used the kayak for a paddle up the river. Ping pong was popular and the huge collection of books and DVDs was useful when we'd got through our own (we left some of our books behind for future visitors).
Free samples of local wine were left in each of the houses - the vineyard offers a good tour once a week.
Bob was very helpful - a non-functioning tv, a leaking shower and a running toilet were quickly sorted.
Only a couple of small suggestions for improvement:
- more tea towels, please
- some soap (refillable liquid version would be fine) in bathrooms/toilets
- washing up liquid
- a few spare bin bags
(There is a list in the 'rules of the house' of things they suggest you might need but it would be helpful to get that list before you arrive...).
We mostly cooked for ourselves but we had an excellent dinner at La Bruceliere in Issigeac that we would highly recommend (booked and chose menu in advance as there were 28 of us and they have a max capacity of about 40!)
The market in Issigeac on Sunday morning is probably the best local one (we sampled three others!).

Perfect grouped properties for great group holiday
On arrival we were all amazed by the hamlet. We got a tour when we arrived and the photos had not done the properties justice as the rooms were more spacious than we anticipated and exceeded our expectations.
The property was very clean and well maintained and the owners were easy to contact when we had an issue with the outside lighting.
The facilities were great for a large group, we had a large enough dining table inside when we needed it and plenty of chairs and tables outside, there were 11 adults and 7 children from 0-3 in out party and there was more than enough room for everyone in the properties.
We stayed here mainly to catch up with friends to didn't make many trips, we had lunch out in Bergerac and visited the local vineyard and that was about it. It was great just being able to enjoy our surroundings and cook up a BBQ or meal for everyone in one of the kitchens and laze by the pool in the day time.
There was an array of bikes and childrens toys provided which was also great to keep the kids entertained.
There are a lot of stairs in some of the properties so we did have to keep an eye on the younger crawlers in the group but the bungalow and cottage are good for those families as they are all on one floor.
I would definitely recommend a stay here and we have already booked a return trip in 2016.

Lovely place for a family reunion
We were a family of 21 spending a week in the beginning of July 2011 at Grand Auque, and I believe we found the perfect place for us. Every single one of us were so pleased with the stay, there are activites available to match almost any interest. The houses were beautiful in their different ways. The days can be spent just exploring the grounds of Grand Auque and the rural, yet not isolated area surrounding it. Perfect small country roads for biking trips to the nearby towns and markets. And on a sunny day (which was every day) it is perfect to sit around the pool and just relax. If you feel restless you just get in the car and go off exploring all the sites to see; markets, caves, castles, churches, vinyards etc. The owner is at service to meet almost any request! I definitely want to go back to Grand Auque, but also to this area of France to explore more!

August 2011
Grande Auque was a great location for our group summer holiday, 7 families, 32 people ranging in age from 3-49, it offered something for everyone.
The children loved the extensive and beautifully kept grounds, complete with games loft, treehouse, lake to row on, river to kayak and the lovely swimming pool. There were even bikes provided. The adults, when not busy challenging the kids to ping pong, badminton and rounders were happy to hang out at one of the outside tables sampling the local wine thoughtfully provided by the owner, Bob, and stored in a cool corner of the mill along with an honesty box.
The properties provide good quality accommodate with plenty of flexibility, we could settle the toddlers without worrying about noisy teens waking them.
The kitchens were really well equipped and easily able to cope with catering for all 32 of us. (Bob put us in touch with a fabulous local caterer, Maggie, who provided our first nights meal, enough food for several suppers for the children and even did a first shop for us which kept us going for 3 days, at a very reasonable cost I highly recommend her.)
Bob's friendly, helpful and relaxed attitude really make this a great place to stay, there is plenty of info in the properties regarding things to do in the local area and he's always on the end of the phone if you have a question.
The nearest local town, Eymet is lovely, plenty of good shops, nice restaurants and an excellent Market and night Market
All in all, a great holiday!

Lalandusse
Have just had a superb two weeks here with entire family (and extras). It was easy to sort who slept where etc as there is plenty of flexibility in the four buildings. Fantastic grounds, for the kids there is a great tree-house, games-loft, loads of toys, bikes, ball games etc.The pool is great and has four steps into the shallow end which is ideal for little-uns. It is the same depth to about half-way, average 5yr old can stand with head above water up to there, then slopes gradually, so plenty of space for safe playing. Each house is really well-equipped for catering for large numbers. Had a row on the lake with boat that's provided!
There is so much to do around the area for all ages: day and night markets, plenty of lovely towns nearby etc Bergerac airport is an easy 20 min drive. There are many vineyards, had a tasting at Siorac which is 5 mins up road and Clos d'Yvigne. There's even a soft play for the toddlers on south side of Bergerac. Le Bugue is not that far away and there is bags to do there, caves, canoeing etc. Supermarket is 5-10 min easy drive to Eymet and is next to petrol station so it's all very easy. Played golf too at Tombleboeuf, a great 9 holer and very friendly place.
All in all a wonderful place and definitely a good choice for a large family group because it suits every age. Great place, great holiday.

Wonderful spot for a gathering of 25
This wonderful property was perfect for a group of families that wanted to get together in France - from Canada, Australia, Denmark, Holland Germany and the UK. Each building has been lovingly updated. The grounds are shaded with a marvellous collection of trees from around the world and make the houses so private. Almost every day there is a market in a nearby town featuring the fresh vegetables and specialities of the region. The kitchens are well equipped for anyone who loves to cook and is specially outfitted to handle preparing food for large groups. Within half an hour in every direction there are villages that are delightful to visit - and dont miss the chance to kayak the Dordogne! The main rooms are full of charm and the little touches that remind you that you are staying in buildings that were originally built over six hundred years ago. The pool is large and warm and we particularly loved swimming late at night under the stars. This is a great spot for a family reunion - charming and large enough so that you dont feel like you are living on top of each other - kids can be in one spot and adults in another. The owner and his wife were so helpful;nothing was too much trouble. We all remember our three weeks there as enchanted!
