About this house rental
This beautiful log home is truly an unforgettable retreat. Nestled at the foot of the Trapper Mountain Range and resting on the banks of the west fork of the Bitterroot river, you will be overwhelmed at the stunning sights and sounds this location has to offer. "The Cabin", as we call it, has been a family treasure for almost 15 years! We love sharing it with friends and guests. Perfect for hosting family vacations, group retreats, or a couples getaway.
We are frequently asked if there is cell service- there is NOT! Enjoy the rare opportunity to unplug and recharge. :) We do have WIFI if you need it, however!
And for you "Yellowstone" series fans, we are just 20 minutes past the set of the hit show!

Very roomy cabin! So clean! Stays nice and cool on hot days! Beautiful area. Painted lake close by if you bring a boat.
Would come back again!
Quiet area.. private spot.

This place comes as advertised: beautiful setting, very roomy, well appointed kitchen and more. My only disappointment was that we were out on the river most of the time and didn't really get to enjoy the property. The place is really beautiful! One awkward thing to mention is that you are required to take your garbage with you when you leave but where do you do you take it? I had to impose on a business owner in Darby to dump the garbage.

Wonderfully secluded and peaceful, super short drive from Painted Rocks State Park. Great fishing right off the deck to be had, lots of deer and wildlife around to see.

This is a great cabin in a beautiful location. The owners are very nice and easy to work with. We really enjoyed our stay

Pros: Super cute cabin with plenty of seating, and everything provided as advertised. Great correspondence with owner.
Cons: Mice kept leading droppings on the counter each night and they would dart across the hall and in the bathroom at one point while in use. We found a nest of them in the laundry room. There weren’t mattress pads on the beds. One bedroom had a dark stain on the mattress and one bed pillow in the same room had a lot of old stains on it. Needed a good washing or just thrown away. We didn’t see it until we were stripping the beds and had been using them all weekend. We couldn’t get internet for tv.
The location was great for a remote getaway. The drive to Darby was 20-25 mins or so.

With rainy and sunny days, our entire family (ranging in age from 6 months old to 87 years young!) loved sharing iur days together at this perfect retreat in the Bitterroot forest. The rushing river, the seclusion in the pines, the perfectly appointed cabin, the giant deck, fire pit, and yard gave us all the space required to enjoy each there. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We had a great stay with two families for ski weekend. Clean house with all necessities. Looks like it would be amazing in summer as well. Was perfect for what we needed and good price. The listing stated that the house is 15.9 miles from Lost Trail ski area when it was actually closer to 40 miles or more. We chose this house based on location from the hill so that was a bit of a surprise but doable. Overall great house ans great stay.

This beautiful cabin was exactly as advertised. Better than I expected, and I’ve been to Montana several times. Would recommend this to anyone looking for off the grid escape from the daily grind. Great for hunting and fishing or just relaxing by the west fork of the Bitterroot River.

Great cabin to escape the demands of the busy week. Loved the proximity to the river. We did the Baker Lake hike and it was a great outing. Also drive to Lake Como one day. Great lake, but super smokey from the wildfires. Was so nice to return to the cabin and hang out by the river at the end of each day.

The Cabin was a great place to relax outside on the deck and listen to the river run by. Had a nice looking fire pit that unfortunately we didn't get to try out secondary to the burn ban. Close drives to lots of hiking and the Painted rocks reservoir as well. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay in this comfortable cabin along the beautiful West Fork of the Bitterroot River. The sounds of the water rushing by were peaceful for sitting in the yard and enjoying a good book or conversation with family. The cabin itself had everything we needed to have a great stay.
