The bed was comfy, the bathroom was lovely and if that’s what you need, then this was great
The aircon in the room didn’t work, the minibar was empty, apart from 1 can of water, the tea and coffee hadn’t been restocked, let’s not even talk about breakfast! Admittedly I am gluten free - nothing was marked for allergens on the buffet, so I had to order of the Al la carte menu, the food turned up 25-30 mins later and was cold - I was also charged £4 for a cup of tea with no milk, sugar or even a tea spoon. When I said the food was cold, the staff just shrugged as I paid the bill.
Sounds like lots of little niggles, but when you’re paying 360 for a basic room, and then there are add on charges for what seems like everything, you expect the service to be great and the little things not to matter.
On check out I was asked about my stay, said I’d had better, and they didn’t respond - just carried on checking me out.
I’d never stay here again

Clean and spacious room. Excellent location, nice bar and a suoerb breakfast!

Location
The non exist view from our room and breakfast seemed to be very expensive so we did not eat breakfast at hotel

The location is 10-12min walk from London Bridge station. The room was small but comfortable, nice and quite with a comfortable bed. The interior designers did I great job on the décor. No noise from the street or rooms next to us.
For the duration of our stay the sink plug was broken and the volume button for the speakers in the bathroom wasn’t able to be turned off, as it was stuck to half way. so anyone watching tv in the bedroom it could be heard in the bathroom regardless if you wanted it or not.
The reception staff member we dealt with needs better training in handling guests check in and requests. We’d had been travelling for 33hrs and we’re exhausted, we advised this at check in. Instead of a fast track check in we were subjected to a long draw out experience. This staff members focus was on up selling us to breakfast and the marriot program. It was just annoying, he lacked the insight of what his guests needed in that moment. We had other issues during our stay, but from then onwards any dealing we had with him was just difficult because he is type of person who works from a frame work of “no” as a first response before thinking, then stating some ridiculous reason as to why he said no, only to then speak with his manager to find out that in actual fact the requests we had was amenable after all. This kind of person is counter productive to the brand’s reputation and sets guest off on the wrong foot.

Location and quiet and great bed
Room not serviced at all during our 2 day 3 night stay. Lack of staff cited. Fresh towels brought in request readily.

Good breakfast buffet, clean and modern rooms, good location close to Tower Bridge
The ventilation was off during the night and turned back on sometime in the morning. So with two people sleeping in the room, the air became quite stuffy.

The decor was very well curated and to a high standard. The property was clean throughout. The staff and breakfast was very good too. Location was great for being central and quiet enough in the evening.
Air con didn't work too well.

The location was excellent. Southwick is a great choice for travelers, as it is on the Thames, but also not in the middle of the bustle of the old city of London, which can be overwhelming. It is near the Borough Market, on of the oldest in London, and the Globe theatre, as well as the HMS Belfast, all worth a visit. The breakfast is quite good, and lovely that they serve until 11am.
The room had a kingsized bed, which led us to believe it was scaled to the room. Not so. The bed took up most of the room, leaving little space (about 18 inches) on either side of the bed, and only had one chair - VERY heavy and hard to move out of the way - as if you might want to steal it. Although the hotel shell is a landmark, and registered, the inside has been done up to look like a standard high rise (albeit with low ceilings) and no windows open. A shame because the Thames breeze would have been wonderful to sleep by. Mechanicals, including TV and a lighted vanity mirror broke - the mirror literally fell off while we were in bed around 11.30 pm. Took half an hour to roust someone, who had no idea what to do with this heavy object hanging from an electrical cord over the sink. In the end the manager gave us a discount of 20% because of so many problems. The staff seemed untrained, no one showed us how to get to the gym - the building was a former jail so rooms and hallways are small and poorly marked, and one did not even know where Saville Row was. Dynamic pricing meant that what we thought we would pay based on booking.com numbers wasn't correct. One day we were charged more than $400/night, another around $200.

the fact that there is no lounge

I was not impressed with the parking charge of £39 per day. Reception informed of a 25% discount using the dixon code. Was not possible when paying for the ticket. It has tought me to check into a hotel with parking and not in the hub. I would suggest informing guest's of the tariff to drive through London

Beautiful hotel. The history of the building is so well incorporated. it's stunning. Very comfortable room, and the bed is cozy. All in all, the Dixon is a great hotel.

The interior was well designed
our room was next to a door that banged very loudly and often. there was a loud noise all night coming from our air vent in our room, we advised reception on the 2nd day. the fridge was very shallow and only contained 2 bottles of water, no room service menu, and the restaurant was basic. The staff struggled with clear English, I could barely understand what they were saying with their heavy accents.

Love the Dixon & the location. The breakfast looked tasty but I just needed a little yoghurt & fruit, coffee & a small croissant 🥐 so a little expensive!
The cost of breakfast.
