We had an amazing time! The cabin was clean and spacious! Huge wraparound deck with a porch swing and rocking chairs that we enjoyed nightly. The swimming hole and river in the community were so much fun. Close to lake lure and chimney rock. Overall a great stay!

What an amazing place to stay and beautiful! The only thing we didn’t like was that it did not state in the description should say we needed a 4x4 vehicles. We brought two cars and one ALMOST tipped over. Please take the Baptist Church route as shown in the description. Be advised the other route is VERY steep. Also one of the gate cards doesn’t work.

We had a very nice, quiet, peaceful 5 nights at the cabin. I can't remember the description on the VRBO site, but basically I think the cabin and the description matched. I recall comments about the driveway, and indeed, it is very steep, but as long as you keep to the right hand side, it's doable.
The deck was wonderful, and we sat there every morning. The weather was quite hot, but the A/C worked well.
We were 5, but 8 could sleep comfortably as long as 6 of them are happy sharing queen size beds. If you have kids, there is one bunk bed for 2 kids (or adults).
The cabin could use a few things. The kitchen needs bowls and teaspoons (there are 2 of each). The lighting in the main room is pretty dark, especially if you want to do a puzzle, but there isn't a good puzzle table anyway. We did a couple that we brought, but it meant we couldn't eat at the dining table.
We had no issues, so didn't need to communicate with the owners. I feel confident they would have responded quickly had we needed them.
Overall it was a very nice interlude.

Absolutely beautiful cabin which kind of felt like a treehouse with the lovely wrap around porch rockers, swing and jacuzzi. Liz has thought of everything beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds. I would recommend 4 wheel drive as driveway is slippery we needed it when it rained. Also, it is not directly on lake a short drive to the lake.
Cabin has use of kayaks and paddleboards which was great as well.

Our stay was pleasant. We were looking for the cabin and GPS took to a wrong address. In the confirmation mail the address given was misleading. The instructions given towards end of mail should have been highlighted. The owner was helpful to guide us to reach the property. We recommend to stay here!

We truly enjoyed our stay here! The cabin is well laid out with plenty of room for everyone. We LOVED spending evenings on the wrap around porch playing games and grilling out. It is remote enough to really feel like you can "get away from it all", but close enough to things like restaurants, shops, grocery store, hiking, and lake activities.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin, the area was close enough to the main road yet remote enough to be peaceful and relaxing.
We brought our little French Bulldog and she soooooo loved the deck, it has a locking gate that allowed her to enjoy the outdoors without concern of her curiosity tempting her to wander off.
Liz was great accommodating late night arrivals for part of us. She was also awesome and in constant contact with us when power was lost due to a truck hitting a nearby power line.
Even with unforseen situations out of her control, she was on the phone with the power company and we had power restored in about an hour.
Thank you Liz😊

This is the only time in 15 years of using VRBO and other platforms that I've encountered an unresponsive owner and a property without the listed amenities. And the Only time I've given a low rating. There have been minor issues, but the other owners were responsive and either fixed the issue or explained why it couldn't be fixed immediately. The only thing this owner did was have housekeeping drop off two dishtowels. Then she stopped communicating.
The PlayStation didn't work. We tried to fix it. Owner said that she had no idea how to fix it and that it wasn't a listed amenity. It WAS in the listing.
We didn't have access to the boats until Tuesday. Day 4.
We let the owner know that both sinks in main level bathroom were backing up. She never responded.
During a power outage, because the house didn't have a backup generator, or at least a mini generator for the fridge and water pump,
1) we had to drive 40 miles round trip at night for ice to save our food.
2) we had no water for drinking, flushing or showering. 3) it was a hot, sticky, sleepless night. No window screens.
There were 10 towels and 8 washcloths. We were constantly doing laundry, in order to have clean towels and washcloths for everyone.
The steep driveway and small parking area was a pain to navigate, every time we arrived and departed. Third vehicle in must drive down to the street to let vehicles #1 or #2 out.
Mirror Lake is beautiful.
FYI: The water is full of duck poop.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. Great home to stay in and there is plenty to do in the area - hiking trails, Chimney Rock, horseback riding and Hickory Nut Falls to name a few. Would recommend it to anyone. Thanks!

Nice spacious cabin. Cute little community beach, river/creek, Ingles, and Dollar General nearby. Short (45 minute) drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a very quiet neighborhood. Our 2 year old enjoyed running around in the cabin and on the beach. The teenagers loved walking down to the lake and fishing and canoeing. A great time was had by all! There was so much to do so close by that we rarely left the community…we’re a pretty laid-back type of family though. I would love to stay here again.

I had emailed the property owners a few days before arrival with some questions regarding the property, and received no response. Upon arriving, we found that the cabin was not very clean. It appeared the housekeeping staff had just done a quick once over. With spending a decent amount in a cleaning fee, I would hope they would have at least gotten the cobwebs down. The property is listed as a 4 bedroom, however upon arrival, it is truly a three bedroom home with a set of bunk beds in the downstairs common area. Additionally, the drive way to access the property is extremely steep. From the road you cannot see the top of the driveway, which makes access difficult. You are almost completely blind when pulling up to the house. It also says in the listing that the lake is within walking distance. This may be true for adults, but for younger children, this simply is a not an option. The community was pleasant and we were within driving distance to the town of Chimney Rock which was nice. Overall, the accommodations were fair and we had a great time spending time with our extended family.

We had an absolute wonderful time during our stay. The house was perfect for us and we enjoyed relaxing both inside and outside. My daughter and I enjoyed the porch swing, we saw a herd of 9 deer one day! The driveway was a bit tricky but we figured it out. The kitchen had everything anyone one could want. We all enjoyed the hot tub. This is a perfect place to relax and recharge.

the cabin was perfect. my friends and I were very cozy. we loved the sunrises from the deck and ending the night at the lake and hopping into the hot tub later as well. On cold days, the cabin was cozy to lounge in and sit by the indoor fireplace. dogs were happy as well. sooo relaxing! hosts also responded promptly when I had questions.

Home is so comfortable and more importantly , immaculate. Well stocked kitchen and a nice game are for the kids. The setting is beautiful and private. Very convenient location. I will definitely recommend to friends and family. When we booked it the hot tub was not listed as an amenity, so it was a very pleasant surprise and we enjoyed it very much on chilly evenings.

First off the Wi-Fi was terrible. Second it says there is a smart tv but there’s no apps and internet was so terrible you couldn’t even try to download an app and tv upstairs only has local stations. Third the hot tub wouldn’t get hotter and my children got a bacterial infection instantly from it. Fourth I was charged for checking in early when I have proof I didn’t. Also have proof my children had the infection from hot tub.

Property was secluded and quiet. Everything was neat and clean and smelled nice. Had a hick up with lock box for key but was quickly corrected. Location was close to several adventure spots and local restaurants were very tasty and priced affordable. We will stay here again.

our family had a wonderful week hiking and exploring the area. The home was very clean and comfortable, a perfect family gathering area!

When we arrived the code did not work to open the gate. 4 other vehicles were trying to get in and no one was successful. Once at the cabin, the code for the lockbox was incorrect. Liz was called and said she had
given us the wrong code. Parking was almost
impossible and we were fortunate that we had 4wd otherwise we could have never made it up the driveway. The biggest complaint is that I was charged for an
extra night but only a portion was refunded and it was the owner’s mistake.

This cabin is an excellent place to visit to chill or visit Lake Lure. We were there for a wedding and wished we had more time to just hang out. Lots of room to spread out and a great porch. Beds were comfy and loved the beautiful plank floors. Things I wish I knew but would not have changed my mind. House is in a gated community and access can be difficult at times. Just call Liz. Just know your car will get dusty on the dirt road to the house. The drive way is VERY steep. Parking for more than 2 cars can be difficult. If you want to use the fireplace bring your own wood. It is a beautiful fireplace. Town is about 8 miles from the house. Again, a great house to visit.

Great cabin, nicely decorated and clean. A LOT of Stairs! Plenty of room for all 9 of us to move around. Lovely wraparound porch with places to sit and relax......LOVED the porch!. Only negative thing was the coffee pot, very slow making coffee, there was also a keurig, but it wasn't listed online. A TV in all the bedrooms would have been nice. Very easy checking in and out, would love to visit again. THANK YOU for a wonderful stay.

The property is a lovely log house tastefully decorated and secluded - could not see the lights from other houses at night. It is a 5 minute drive to a small quiet lake - perfect for swimming and canoeing. We hope to return next year for another relaxing family vacation!

Thanks for sharing your cabin with us! Our family of 7 had plenty of room and the neighborhood has so much to offer with the private lake/beach , the swimming hole for our pup, and the lil rapids and waterfall and our private "natural lazy river". Thank y'all again for a fun, relaxing trip!

Great summer vacation!
Everything about this booking was great, from the wonderful cabin, to the lake and beach just a short drive down the road, along with the streaming creek. Adults and kids loved wading through the waters of the creek. The lake was great to cool off in and enjoy some jumping off the dock. We would love to come back for a return visit.

Lake lure stay
Hard to get to. Had to call for better directions. No personal soaps, had to buy dish washer detergent, no dish cloths, one pot holder. Beds were not comfortable. The location was perfect. Very peaceful. The scenery was beautiful.

Great Location and house
The home was great for our family. The property was perfect for my dog; just letting him out of the front door or the first level to roam. There are 3 levels; my teenage took the top floor which gave her a private bedroom and book nook with comfy chair, table and lamp right outside of the bedroom. The main level was great for my 84 year old mom, who doesn't do well with stairs. Her bedroom and bath was on this level with the kitchen, dining room and kitchen area. Her bedroom opened up (french doors) to the wrap around deck. I was on the lower floor. I had my bedroom (large), bathroom, living room area with bunk beds (my teenager slept in) and doors to outside. I loved this place bc of the privacy afforded to my family individually, all of the showers were lined with this beautiful stone. It also had everything we needed to fix full meals. Comfy, comfy, comfy. The fireplaced roared every night.
The location was high enough to absorb the fauna and wildlife. The house was also located by Chimney Rock and a great deal of trails, paved and wild. We hiked the mountain, saw the 60ft waterfall at CR and hiked up Little Bradley Falls. We spent a day in Asheville only 40 mins. away, shopping at several eclectic stores. We went to CR village an shopped, panned for gems at CR Gemstone Mine. There was something for everyone in my family. We had a blast and great stay at this cabin.
