We love this location and space. The property manager was a sweetheart and helped us immediately when we reached out. The house is wonderful and perfect for relaxing and having down time. The yard was great to watch the meteor shower.
Thank you so much!

The cottage is really sweet: cozily furnished and decorated, with ingenious ways of providing what’s needed in a small space.

For many years we camped in this area of Maine with our children and loved it. The children have grown and we returned to visit our favorite spots! We did some hiking, visited lighthouses, ate seafood, and enjoyed views of the ocean as much as possible!

This is our second time staying in the old post office and we are already dreaming of returning. The location is a short walk to the Pemaquid Lighthouse, and to Johns Bay (a perfect place to see the sunset.) The cottage is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The bed is very comfortable. It is a small cottage but it's very cozy and well-appointed, and the outdoor space is so inviting, we spent as much time as we could having tea or breakfast on the front porch, and dinner in the garden. Janet is a wonderful host and very responsive.

This was exactly the type of property we were looking for...property was very welcoming...description was spot-on...flowers in gardens and window boxes were amazing...location was peaceful...our only disappointment was not being able to stay longer!

We spent a week at the location. Great stay. Came up there to do a little whale watching, eat some Lobster and have a good week site seeing. The property was immaculate, everything we needed. Overall I can't recommend this location enough. Not to mention we had a great whale watching trip and ate way too much Lobster. Only thing I can say about this property that would be a minor problem, the bed is just to soft. It's very comfortable once you get situated. This was noted in other reviews. Not a big deal, but if you're not spry it's a challenge.

My husband and I spent a week here on vacation. The cottage had everything we needed. The location was great! We tried out several of Janet’s recommendations and were not disappointed by any of them.

We enjoyed our stay at Old Post Office cottage. Very quaint and decorated to reflect the Maine coast. Our host was quick to reply to any questions and messaged us with ideas of places to visit on a rainy day. More than enough towels, blankets for the two of us for our four day stay. As a couple who used to rent out a summer home in the past, we know what it takes to make guests comfortable and happy and our host was the tops! And do take up her recommendation for the Damiscaratta River Grill, the seafood was fantastic.

We stayed here for 6 nights for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The cottage was cozy, clean, and comfortable. There were plenty of clean towels and blankets, hot water for the shower and for washing dishes. The tap water had a very metallic taste to it so we bought a few gallons of water for drinking, which worked out fine. We loved the built-in speakers, but they were old and blown out and the sound quality left a lot to be desired (we still used them every day, it was actually a very memorable and funny part of the trip.)
The cottage is two minutes down the road from the Pemaquid Point lighthouse and the Seagull gift shop and cafe, and the road is very bikeable. Located about 10 minutes away from the local grocery store and bank, and plenty of great little things to do in the area. Host was communicative and friendly and had left a list of suggestions of places to visit in the area, which we definitely utilized!
All in all, a great stay that we'll remember and cherish for years to come.

The cottage is truly magical. Although tiny
It never felt cramped or too small. It was very clean & comfy. The bed was amazing. It felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. The grounds are also lovely. We ate at the bistro table on the front porch which was perfect & enjoyed taking in the spring sea breeze while relaxing in the backyard. Our host Janet was very also helpful. I would totally recommend visiting this little perfect getaway!

We thoroughly enjoyed the short walk to the beach and the cozy cottage. We will certainly look to staying here again when we decide to visit Pemaquid Point!

Convenient to the whole Pemaquid area. The property and the cottage was nicely decorated. Cottage was very small and no place to store personal items or luggage - bathroom was tiny. But still, it worked out well for us.

Very cute, charming, small cabin that worked well as home base for our stay. Janet was very helpful and responsive. The house had everything we needed including pink Himalayan Sea salt.

Accommodations were accurate as described online. Although the bathroom was small, it was not as small as others have commented. It is certainly larger than any camper bathroom and suited us just fine. We had a great time and were very pleased with the location, privacy, and the access to the many things to do in and around Pemaquid Point. Great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage - comfortable and cozy with a beautiful outdoor space. Nearby destinations include Pemaquid Lighthouse and beach, hiking the LaVerna Preserve and water excursions at New Harbor. Our hostess, Janet, ensured our stay was all we hoped. Highly recommend for a relaxing visit.

Adorable Little Cottage
We really enjoyed our stay in this adorable little cottage. It is just the right size for two adults. It’s location is perfect for a relaxing getaway: near quaint harbor towns, Pemaquid Beach, and plenty of restaurants without ever feeling overly touristy. We would definitely stay here again.

Cozy cottage
Stayed for three nights. Cottage and garden charming. Short walk down dirt road to ocean/rock access, great for morning sunrise or evening sunset walk. Location is great- short walk or drive to Pemaquid light. Sandy beach 5-10 min drive to Pemaquid State Beach. Cottage on the road to lighthouse so there is traffic during day, but from sundown to sunrise very, very quiet. In fact, you can hear the crash of ocean surf in the quiet of the night. Cottage very clean and tidy. Bed and linens high quality. Shower is small, but does the trick. Wifi worked great. I would definitely book again.

Perfect little getaway!!
Adorable cottage with a cozy private backyard, moments walk away to ocean and lighthouse! Can’t wait to come back!!

Cute but tiny.
The old post office was very cute, but the description of its location was misleading. It has no view of the water at all unless you walk about a half mile and then you are only on a right of way between two other properties. There is no place to be in the evening outside where you won't be eaten alive by mosquitoes, and it sits directly on a pretty busy road. Inside could use a ceiling fan or two and if you are a large person the shower will not work well for you. The bed was very comfortable though. All in all, we had a good stay since we were outside the majority of the time. It is a beautiful area.

Cute Cabin
Very nice stay and location. We did not use it but the spacious backyard would be perfect for outside activities. If you are looking to getaway from everyday, this cabin is it. Oh and the coffee maker is a French press, and now we’re hooked!

Great location!
This was a clean, cozy little cottage. A bit small but perfect for 1-2 people. Owner responded to any questions I had in a timely manner. Process was easy, no issues. I enjoyed my stay there.

Fabulous Cottage with Private Ocean Acess
The cottage was picturesque and the surrounding gardens were stunning. There is a private road to the ocean where you can walk out on the rocks and explore or sit above the rocky beach and relax. It was a short drive to everything. We loved it.

Small but mighty
This was the perfect vacation spot for my granddaughter and I. We wanted quiet and close to the ocean and it delivers. Janet was a great host and this property had everything we needed. The yard is beautifully appointed and has charming solar twinkle lights scattered around.
The bed was super comfy. I'm short so it was perfect for me.
Close to Pemaquid Light and Pemaquid State Beach. Close to Damariscotta if you want t to shop. Thank you so much Janet for sharing your cottage with us.

Perfect Maine Experience
Close to many fun places to explore; Monhegan Island, Puffin bird tour, antique stores and flea markets. Cabin has great library covering history of the area and guide books on rocks, birds and even the constellations for evening reading. Being from the Midwest, we really enjoyed all the fresh seafood at area restaurants.

Amazing gem
I have visited this area several times but always with my family. This cottage was a lovely place to come by myself for a quick getaway. It is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. And you can walk to the lighthouse as well as the rocky beach. I will be coming back once there is availability!

Sweet little cottage
Sweet little cottage perfect for one person or a couple.
The bed is small & very soft (perhaps too soft for those with back issues).
A great place to unplug since there is no TV or WiFi.
It was nice to be able to walk on the quiet road down to the shore, especially at sunset.
The Pemaquid area remains as charming as ever.

We loved the tiny cottage and how comfortable it was. Perfect for one or two.

Maine Transplant!
This cottage and its location were perfect for my daughter and me. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Besides the small shower and its awkward shower head position, we were very comfortable.

Nice house in a great location!
It's a small, cozy house but the high ceiling makes it comfortable and pleasant. A short walk to the lighthouse (and along the coast) makes for a great location, and there's a sandy beach (small fee) not far away. Restaurants and grocery store nearby, and a wifi cafe, bookstore, and small department store are no more than 20 minutes drive. Great for one person or a couple, but If you're bringing a friend who'll be staying on the sofa bed in the main area, there's minimal privacy between that area and the bedroom (the bedroom has a louvered door and has to be passed through to get to the bathroom).

Bucket List - Pemaquid Point
We adored our stay. I've always wanted to stay right on the point and this location was PERFECT! We hope to visit again! Loved it!!!!
10.0
Despite the significant tourist traffic passing the house on its way back and forth to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse park, the stay was very peaceful and relaxing. The cottage itself is very small, but this was something we were actually hoping for, and we found it everything necessary. It had everything we needed, though no laundry facility, which wasn't a big problem for us as our next stop would allow us that amenity further down the coast. Our stay was peaceful and quiet and very relaxing, with a very nice walk down a quiet dirt road to the shore for beautiful sunsets (and sunrises if up early enough to walk down there!). The simplicity and sense of disconnecting from our usual daily routines suited us to a 'T'. Our rating a solid 10 out of 10.
