We had a fantastic 9 days staying at Omia.
We wanted somewhere quiet and unspoilt - relaxing and surrounded by nature. It was perfect.
If you're looking for lots of nightlife, bars and ents, then this isn't the place for you. But if you want to see and feel the natural beauty of Sri Lanka, then Omia has it all.
The staff are are brilliant - genuinely friendly and helpful. As is the owner, Barbara - who's also a mine of top tips and helpful local information.
We'd also highly recommend having a massage on the the balcony of your bungalow.

One of the best holidays we had. Everything was great. The location is breathtaking, the staff is always ready to help you. The food at the restaurant is delicious. The owner is very kind and helpful, always ready to answer any questions. I highly recommend this place.

of all the places we have visited,this is the most beautiful, peaceful, perfect villa. The view from the room was so tremendous. Owners were very friendly and they prepared our requested room perfectly.Rooms, Service, View, foods, place, pool, atmosphere, peacefulness and Everything about this villa were so perfect. I would give 10/10 and definitely we will visit again.

Omia was the highlight of our trip along the Southern coast of Sri Lanka.
It is a luxurious gem in a beautiful calm area - we liked it so much after our first stay that we changed our travel plans to go back and stay again!
The layout of the grounds is wonderfully designed, with each guest cabin nestled in greenery, an open restaurant and chill out area with a view of the sea, hammocks dotted around, a great swimming pool and a short path leading directly to a very empty and beautiful beach. They have also taken a lot of care of the garden which is bursting with all sorts of bushes, flowers and trees (from which we got fresh coconuts every day!).
The rooms themselves are also fantastic - very spacious, clean with a warm design. We took a sea view cabin and spent hours on the balcony enjoying the spectacular view.
I also have to give a special mention to the chefs as the food was really great quality at a good price. I would definitely recommend thé Sri Lankan curry! Another very nice touch was the daily cakes (coconut, lemon, chocolate) which they made fresh nearly every day and served with ice cream.
However, the thing that makes this place stand out the most is the people, the Omia team were a pleasure to be with. Everyone was friendly, helpful and made sure you started and ended everyday with a smile and a laugh.
A big thank you to everyone at Omia for such a wonderful experience and we will be back!

This place is all about location. It's just simply stunning. Placed on the edge of the hills overlooking the Indian Ocean.Bangalows are very spacious and comfortable for families. Few steps down and bang a superb swimming pool and another few steps, and you are out on almost feel like a private beach. Staff and the owner is very friendly and accommodating with all the requests we've had, including hiring a tuk tuk.
Everything was superb.The only small complaint We could make is that there should be some more food veriaty and prices of food are slightly on a high end.

It was our honeymoon trip and our previous hotel in Sri Lanka turned out to be very disappointing. So we had to find and book another hotel last minute. We found OMIA and that very day moved there. Everything, including transfer, was arranged at the highest level and we are very happy for this decision to move.
The hotel staff is professional, helpful and friendly. The territory and bungalows are well cared of, very clean and nice.
The hotel is located quite far from Tangalle town with its shops and cafes but it turned out to be an advantage — nights at these hotel are very quiet and calm in comparison with constant crazy noise of the town. We also enjoyed the hotel private entrance to the splendid and romantic beach. There are huge waves but you can get by tuk-tuk to the nearest beaches to swim or you can relax in the pool, it wasn’t a problem for us.
Food at the hotel restaurant is a little bit pricey for this country, but we enjoyed it and portions are big.

Fantastic high quality rooms/cabins, with exceptional views from balcony/terrace. Rooms are relatively new, decorated nicely, very spacious and perfectly functional. Very friendly and attentive host and staff. Everywhere spotless clean. Also nice and clean pool. Breakfast ok, and served in room at request. Beach is deserted, which gives special feeling. Good safari in Ukawala national park, organized via hotel. Highly recommendable for a few nights.
It's located remotely and area is quite deserted. Need 15-20mins tuk-tuk (1800rupies single way) to get back to civilisation, which can easily be arranged. Rough sea, swimming only for strong experienced swimmers. Food at dinner just ok, could be better. Significant roomprice, but justified given the high quality of accomodation.

The best hotel we stayed in during our 3 week tour of Sri Lanka. Friendly and helpful staff. lots of hidden extras offered during our stay. Peaceful and relaxing setting. Feels like you have a private beach.

We loved this place. Perfect location for someone who wants to chill and relax. New and well-kept place. Nice, large bungalows, comfortable beds, stunning views. Nice pool and basially privat beach. Good-quality and tasty food, nice breakfast. What makes this place even better and more special is always-smiled and friendly staff headed by the owner - Barbara, who runs this place with passion and care. We recommend without any hesitation :)

We loved EVERYTHING about our stay. Visiting OMIA for the second time we were surprised that it became even better:) The room is excellent with amazing small details that make your stay flawless. The balcony with super comfy chairs, bed, bathroom - everything is perfect. We enjoyed the pool and the beach, it was so calm and relaxing. Territory is green and beautiful. Restaurant is great, nice choice of local and European items, and the cocktails are super tasty. But the biggest asset of this place are the people - owners and their beautiful family and all the staff that made us feel welcome and like home every second of our stay. Beautiful location overlooking the ocean. Serene beach with only a few other small resorts in walking distance. The layout of the resorts with lots of vegetation, paths and terraces and the beautiful bungalows facing the sea is so nice. The staff and owners Barbara and Omit did everything they could to make our 14 days at the hotel memorable, super cosy and convenient. We will never forget our Christmas and New Years holiday at Omia.
All food is freshly made and delicious. The owners will help you arrange anything from elephant safari in Uda Walawe Nationalpark to whale watching in Mirissa, tea plantation trip and transport to nearby Tangalle.at very reasonable rates.
We loved everything about the resort and the secluded location. Guests who are interested in night life and many restsursnts in walking distance should be aware that this is probably not the right hotel for them since there are only a few restaurants in walkimg distance from Omia (along the beach). The hotel will gladly help you book tuk.tuks to Tangalle with many restaurants ( 15-20 mins). as well as other nice beaches in the area.

We had a short stay at Omia but it was great. Barbara the host is warm, friendly and very conversational. The hotel set up is modern yet befitting the cool Sri Lankan beach vibes. The room was big with a great bed and bathroom. We felt very comfortable and at peace with the beach right next to us. Highly recommend!

We loved our few days in this paradise. Omia has it all to forget about the world. It is very pretty and comfortable, we loved all the little touches and hosts and staff make you feel like home. Restaurants offers great food and drinks and it is easy to order tuk tuk or taxi. We will return there for sure!
The place has not much to offer for those who are looking for attractions. It is secluded but I think that is the charm of this place!

A little paradise: beautiful view from our room, beautiful swimming pool near to the beach, access to a beach with absolutely nobody, a very calm place, good food & a very nice staff! Unfortunately we stayed only 1 night but recommend to stay more to fully enjoy this place.

The territory is wonderful, quiet and cozy with a picturesque view to the ocean. A very good pool. The owners of the place are very nice people, welcoming and always here to help with anything you need. The bungalow is minimalistic, fresh and has everything required for a comfortable stay. The place is perfect for a relaxed lazy vacation.
The place is quite far away from Tangalle and there’s only one restaurant in walking distance. So you have to take a tuk-tuk to the town or dine in the hotel’s restaurant where the food is average and pretty expensive. The menu is limited. Other than that the place is perfect.

Rooms are spacious with restored furniture that suits the area. It has access to a beach which is a little too wild to swim but fairly private. They have great relationships with local tuktuk and car drivers. Nimal the driver was very professional and our favourite driver for our onward trip. The owners are very friendly and talk to everyone, nice family.

Depending on what you are looking for this property is a little far away from restaurants and great beaches to swim, which meant 15-25min tuktuk journeys one way each time.
They could include a board in the communal area with ‘top things to do/ restaurants etc’.

OMIA is on the top position of all the hotels we were in Sri Lanka. We simple loved the place, the friendly and helpful staff, the spacious room with its big balcony and perfect view, the nice pool, the excellent breakfast (great cappucino!) and dinner … realy everything. The beach is fantastic. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay in Omia, what a treat! The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable with a great balcony and view, the staff (particularly Amit the owner) were fantastic and helped us so much with recommendations, they organised a lagoon tour which was one of the highlights of our whole trip, as well as transportation - he was also great to just have a chat with! the pool was peaceful and it was right on the beach

Not a bad word to say! This is hotel made our trip. we loved every thing about it. The facilities are spotless, have everything you need. the food is excellent, the staff and owners are lovely. I can’t wait to come back again!

Eight elegantly appointed pavilions are nestled in beautifully manicured gardens overlooking a stunning beach. What a great start to our Sri Lankan adventure! However, what makes Omia extraordinary is the dedication, genuine friendliness and charm of its owners, Amit and Barbara, and their staff. They provided excellent recommendations that helped us extend our budget. Very highly recommended.

Charming 8 unit boutique resort overlooking a stunning beach. The couple who run it, Barbara and Amit and their staff are super friendly and dedicated to their guests’ satisfaction even if that meant waking up at ungodly hours to ensure that picnic breakfasts were collected. The owners were very generous with their time, offering invaluable advice for things to do locally as well as for the rest of our trip.
There was nothing we didn’t like although the quietness of the area may not suit everyone.

This resort is amazing and nicely integrated with the surroundings. Great location facing the ocean with spectacular views. The bungalows are luxurious, with beautiful interior design, and perfectly cleaned. Delicious food. Very helpful and kind staff.
