About this apartment rental
A ground floor apartment only a stone’s throw from Piazza San Marco, in a quiet area with canal-view and terrace.
The charm of this three-level apartment resides in its antique furnishings, canopy beds, and peculiar details that give the house a warm and captivating atmosphere.
A wide entrance hall leads to the large living room, with comfortable sofas and dining table, and to the fully equipped kitchen. The first floor presents a double bedroom, 2 bathrooms, and a sofa bed for an additional two people (please note that the use of the extra bedding is charged an extra € 30 per night). The second floor presents another double bedroom with a beautiful antique canopy bed belonging to the owner’s family collection, as is all the antique furniture in the house. This floor also has another bathroom, as well as the access to the outside terrace with table and chairs where you can enjoy a beautiful and relaxing view.
Near the apartment, you can find many restaurants, shops, and a big supermarket. From here, it is also easy to reach Piazza San Marco and Rialto.
The closest waterbus stop is Sant’Angelo for easy and quick connections to all main attractions via the Grand Canal, as well as for the Alilaguna boat service for the Marco Polo Airport.
Venice has six districts, known as “sestieri”. The district of San Marco embraces three important city venues and symbols: the Accademia Bridge, the Rialto Bridge, and the most famous Square in the world (as well as only one of the island), Piazza San Marco. Here, you can find some of the most well-known and beautiful city monuments: the splendid San Marco Basilica, richly decorated with Byzantine mosaics and columns, the elegant Palazzo Ducale, overlooking the San Marco basin, and the imposing “Campanile” (bell tower), from which you can enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of the city’s rooftops.
In this area, you can find elegant cafes and restaurants, famous art galleries, and the city’s most beautiful Murano-glass shops and important boutiques, for those who love shopping.

Lovely home, clean and spacious, with authentic Venetian feel. Great location near attractions, well-equipped kitchen, and helpful host.

This is a fantastic place to stay.
Centrally located. Right on one of the smaller canals.
Only a 3 min walk from San Angelo water-bus stop.
Plenty of space.
Antique furnishings and art.
Only issue was with regards to trash. They have very specific rules about trash disposal. We were told that there would be somebody coming by to collect rash each morning between 8 and 10. Alternatively we could take to a nearby collection point. This never happened, so we ended up having to leave some money for the cleaning service to dispose of it.

This house was lovely filled with very special items. Located over three levels. You have to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the another which can be a problem for privacy but otherwise it's a beautiful home.

Beautiful house in great location
The property was charming and cozy, in an ideal location. Getting signed in was easy, as the Red House Company staff was courteous and thorough. My only regret was the overwhelming air-freshener smell on the ground floor, no doubt in place to cover up any smells from the preceding flood. The smell was so overpowering that it gave me a headache to stay in either the living room, dining room or kitchen for more than 10 minutes. After that amount of time, my throat felt raw and it was painful to breathe. Aside from this the house was ideal.

Perfect Venetian apartment
Great location and clean, well appointed apartment. My family of 5 had plenty of room to spread out.

Very nice accommodation
Very clean and easy check in. Nice linens. Understood from description that there would be bedroom on first floor(ground floor) but they are on the second and third. Not good if there are mobility issues. A bit dark but very authentic Venetian. Would recommend.

Everything was really simple and the host helped out with coordinating our transfers and handling our luggage. The pictures are very accurate with what you get. You can’t go wrong with staying at this beautiful apartment

Central location
Beautifully furnished but starting to show wear and tear down stairs and on terrace. Not at bright as photos suggest.

Live like a Venetian
This amazing property is in a wonderful location, an easy walk to the main attractions of Venice. The seperate living area and rooftop terrace is great for relaxing after a day of sightseeing.
It is also very close to the vaporetto station which makes arriving and leaving very easy.

Great location and very nice but no lift as stated
Marco and Caroline’s vacation home was great for four women who have known each other our entire lives and don’t mind sharing two beds. A bonus were the bathroom with toilet and a separate toilet room side by side on middle floor. Kitchen was very well equipped although we never actually cooked. Decor was lovely. Stairs were very steep and narrow to two sleeping floors so we left all of our luggage in the downstairs vestibule, which worked out just fine. The lack of a lift was of concern as that was a major reason for selecting this property. Informed management company of this misinformation and they were unaware of same. None of this is meant badly but only informational for your next guests. We would absolutely rent your home again although would not recommend for elderly, infirm or even small children. Close to vapporetto stop and only obstacle was the bridge to cross with luggage right at the door of the apartment. Just be aware. It can also be noisy with the bridge to the vaporetto stop outside the front door so you might want to sleep with earplugs but enjoy the experience of a beautiful home in Venice. Grocery store and restaurants nearby. Great information provided by owner. Management company was great and very easy to deal with. Bruno met us at the vaporetto and was nice and helpful. The only real issue was all of the rules about recycling. There were instructions from various sources and they all seemed to say something different. Perhaps a more concise and consistent set of instructions to explain this confusing process should be provided. The need for the process is understood; however, figuring it out was quite stressful for vacationers who don’t know about these things especially with the threat of large fines being suggested. We sincerely hope that your lovely home survived the record floods you are currently experiencing in Venice.

Wonderfully charming place
Very nice place that feels so authentically Venetian. Three floors and a terrace on top. Wonderful antique furniture and paintings all over the place. Well equipped kitchen. The owners were very nice and helpful. Fantastic location. Wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we will.
Thanks for everything!

Step back in Time
Our stay was wonderful everyone enjoyed the house and we are not all so easy to please. Clean, spacious and romantic with old world charm just a short walk from the Grand Canal.

Beautiful apartment, great location!
The apartment was exactly as it appears in the photos, very clean and comfortable. The beds were maybe the most comfortable beds we have ever had! The location was very convenient to everything. We loved our stay in Venice and highly recommend this property!

Charming place, wonderful location
We loved the old world charm of this place. The pictures are very true to reality and location is ideal. It is about a 10 minute leisure walk to San Marco and Rialto and the Sant Angelo vaporetto stop is around the corner. There are three floors with comfortable beds, full bathtubs and kitchen. There is a clothes washer (takes a few hours) but no dryer.
Sophie met us at the vaporetto stop and then detailed all points well including when to be out to the stop to catch the airport vaporetto called Alilaguna. Many restaurants and shops are all within 5-10 mins and the supermarket was just around the corner.

Like we went back in time
The home felt luxurious while retaining the old world charm. The pictures are very true to reality and location is ideal. It is about a 10 minute leisure walk to San Marco and Rialto and the vaporetto stop is around the corner. We rarely needed it though because walking was easy from the home. It’s well appointed with comfortable beds, full bathtubs and kitchen. There is a clothes washer but no dryer which is in keeping with Italy. I will say that as 2 families with infants the steps are a bit harrowing especially to the 3rd floor but you just have to be mindful to keep doors closed.
Bruno met us promptly at the vaporetto stop and then detailed all points well including when to be out to the stop to catch the airport vaporetto called Alilaguna. It is so useful and convenient to have this come to the stop by the house because this is not true for all vaporetto stops. I would go early though as our boat came 10 mins early and I’m not sure if there are just more than one or what.
To restaurants and shops it’s all 5-10 mins and the supermarket which was key for our families was just around the corner.
We felt like true Venetians staying here and I would def come again

Old world Venetian charm and all the modern conveniences
We had high expectations for this wonderful apartment (based on the photos and reviews) and were not disappointed. The house was located very close to the Sant Angelo stop. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishes, pots, pans, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher, etc... the furnishings were lovely, the beds comfortable. The apartment itself was quiet (no outside noises and the rooms themselves were well insulated from noise from the other rooms.) We were there during the snows of early March and the trains were not running on time, but Bruno was flexible and helpful and met us at the vaporetto stop when we finally arrived. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation.

Casa dell albero
Lovely apartment, beautifully decorated in antiques, very close to the St Angelo vaporetto, making it convenient to go anywhere in Venice or the Islands of Murano and Burano and only two blocks from a large supermarket with all the materials to make great meals. Without spending a lot of money in restaurants.

Lovely decor in a good location
This apartment exists on three floors and has been decorated in a charming, period style (18th century). It is adequately equipped, and is located quite close to a vaporetto stop )St. Angelo) and to a major area in the San Marco sestiere, i.e., close to Campo Santo Stefano.
It is not, however, suitable for seniors, since there is no bathroom on the ground floor, the stairways connecting the floors are steep, and the bathing facilities, at this writing, include narrow tubs with shower heads and no non-skid mats, making them quite difficult and dangerous.
The kitchen was well-equipped, although small, with little counter space.
Overall, our stay was quite pleasant with only the drawbacks listed above.

Excellent Experience
I can't say enough about this beautiful place. We were a family of 3 (a father 70, mother 50's and a 12 year old daughter). We also brought an 81 year old friend with us. The place was a great, quiet location but a VERY short distance to a water bus stop. St. Mark's Basilica was also within walking distance, as was lots of shopping. The kitchen is small, but complete and there is a washing machine and free wi-fi. Another plus is air conditioning! There are LOTS of stairs but we did not find this difficult to manage. No bathrooms or bedrooms on the main floor. There is a grocery store not too far away so we had all of our breakfasts and a couple of dinners here. If you are able to navigate the tiny stair case up to the roof, there is a small table and chairs. We took candles and a bottle of wine with us. We listened to music and looked at the stars late in the evening. I highly recommend this apartment!
