I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Apache Point ranch house. While drinking my coffee in the morning, I sat in the garden and watched the birds eat the oranges and seeds at their feeders and the hummingbirds too. I saw a blue grosbeak, and a blue hummingbird, red cardinals, summer tanager, male and female and many other colorful birds. That was a magnificent experience worth the trip!

The place was outstanding! We were close to the the local attractions, hiking and conveniences, yet felt like we were miles away from civilzation. We enjoyed our qiet celebration of our wedding anniversary. We are looking forward to coming back! Thank you

Chose property based on proximity to Ramsey Canyon. The bird watching at the Ranch House was far superior to that at Ramsey Canyon! Highly recommend despite being a little rough in amenities. Good Value!

We enjoyed the location and the spaciousness of the ranch house. It was nice to be able to spread out, cook our own meals, watch the hummingbirds and quail enjoying numerous bird feeders, and be so close to Carr Canyon and other birding locations.

We enjoyed our stay at Apache Point very much, It was very clean and as pictured online. It was located close to birding areas we wanted to visit, but was a bit far from stores and restaurants. Being a bit far from businesses however, meant it was nice and quiet and we did appreciate that! The kitchen was a bit sparse on dishes and cups which only meant that we needed to run the dishwasher more often. We would recommend this place!

Great site, good house, everything worked. Just need a new mattress on the bed as the current one sinks a lot in the middle. Everything else was very good. Very quiet location which was valued.

Plenty of room for my partner and myself to spread out for our several day stay. We loved watching the birds at the plentiful feeders. Having laundry on site was wonderful. Nice kitchen with all that we needed. We visited many places from this central spot.

We had a good stay at Apache Point Ranch. It was a great location for day trips to Carr Canyon and Coronado National Monument. We loved the sun room and spent lots of time there. The house had everything we needed. Access was easy. The recliner in the den was a perfect place to read. We would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay, with so many great birding spots so near by. The house was clean and comfortable, and our host was very responsive to queries. I loved the art, including the whimsical garden art. I'll recommend this place to my birder friends!

We stayed two nights at the end of December and the property was as advertised—clean, cozy, and nestled right up against a hillside with great nature views. We visited with family, watched the numerous birds feeding outside the sun room, and sipped complimentary hot chocolate while stargazing in the evenings. Brochures provided ideas for activities in the area, and there were games and streaming services for entertainment. An interesting history of the ranch house and surrounding area is in the welcome binder, and the host’s artwork adorns the house. Communication and instructions were clear, and while we didn’t see anyone while we were there, we knew the hosts were available if we needed anything (which we didn’t), and were only a quick text away. Recommended—thank you for the stress free, relaxing stay!

We loved sitting in the sunroom watching all the birds filter through the yard! Lots of local trails to explore.

I don’t want to tell you about this gem just outside Sierra Vista because I want to keep it all to myself. This was our fifth stay-never disappoints.

I really enjoyed this rental. It's very spacious, clean and quiet. It's also very close to lots of nature hiking, so that was very convenient. There were no issues with the stay and I fully recommend it to others!

This is our second stay at this location during this time of year. Quiet, roomy for a couple, well-managed and responsive, with good access to reknowned birding areas. This year we were treated to a spell of "wintery" weather (for southern Arizona) and a white frosting to the Huachuca Mountains outside the back window.

We have made Apache Point our first choice when visiting Sierra Vista. Just completed our fourth stay, usually about a week each time. Quiet and secluded with beautiful views, clean and well-organized 1BR apartment attached to owner's home, convenient to Sierra Vista, Bisbee, Tombstone, and lots of great hiking in Ramsey Canyon/Huachuca Range.

A secluded and comfortable retreat in the Huachuca mountains 10 minutes from Sierra Vista. This was our third stay here. A fully equipped private apartment attached to the owners’ home. Full kitchen, laundry facilities, large walk-in shower (no tub), sun room with great views. Owners either on site or back-up manager readily accessible. No one else around. Minutes to Ramsey or Carr Canyons for great hiking, short drive to Sierra Vista.

Sierra adventure
We were in Sierra Vista to buy a home. All went well and our accommodations were almost perfect. Our host thought of everything and the muffins were a surprise and quite enjoyable. The squeaky bed issue needs to be resolved. Even the minor movement woke up your partner.

Great get away for adventure.
Property was peaceful and a great location for local adventures. Owners, Kathy and Mike, are wonderful. We enjoyed ourselves and would gladly return.

Quiet, convenient mountain getaway
This was our second stay in this former in-law wing of the owner's house. It's the perfect getaway for a couple. The owner is often at home, and always available by phone/text. The sun room has beautiful views of the Huachuca mountains and the quiet location on a dead-end street is away from traffic and other vacationers. Carr Canyon and Ramsey Canyon are moments away and Sierra Vista, with all the amenities, is just 5 miles. Full kitchen, dishwasher, and laundry room make you self-sufficient, but I also recommend Urbano Bar and Bistro (2 miles down the road) for fantastic fresh-roasted coffee and great lunch/dinner menu.

Nice spot above Sierra Vista
Nice kitchen, well appointed but could use some soup bowls and more plates.
Atrium room a nice plus and we liked the little office and having a place for the laptop away from the kitchen table.
Pretty convenient location for seeing the Coronado National Memorial, Coronado national forest and the San Pedro Riparian Conservation Area. A ways out of town for groceries, so stock up in town if you’re going to cook.
Adjacent Laundry room is useful.
Very quiet location and plan on star gazing!

Apache Point
Enjoyable and quiet. Good spot for visiting great winter birding areas on day trips (San Pedro River, Ramsey Canyon, Ash Canyon, Whitewater Draw, etc.). Bird feeders maintained by the host at the facility front door had a casual count of 21 winter species. Host was friendly and agreeable, facilities simple and restful. Right below Carr Peak in the Huachucas with a dusting of winter snow in the morning sun.

A charming, cozy hideaway.
A very nice one bedroom rental in a gated property snuggled up against the Huachuca mountains. We liked the seclusion and quiet. Property owners are on site and ready to assist if any issues arise. All was as advertised online so there were no (unpleasant!) surprises. We loved the view out the main picture window and would have spent more time in the sunroom had we not been there in January.
We would certainly return.

Wonderful House
We loved our stay at this vrbo! It was exactly what we expected. It was such a cute house with a beautiful view of mountains. The property owner was so nice and available to answer any questions we had about the house and the area. We had a wonderful family vacation staying here.

Christmas Idyll
We have stayed in many VRBO places, and this has to be among the very best. Immaculate, spacious, and comfortable with great attention to detail: a real teapot, everything a cook could need, local books and travel information. Also thoughtful touches like holiday decor and festive accessories (Christmas cups with cocoa mix, Christmas tea towels, candles and a tree, outside lights). We went looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful place and we found just that!

Great quiet location
Visiting family in Sierra Vista, this was a beautiful quiet place to stay just 10 min out of town. Impeccably clean, plenty of space, host (who lives on site)left her cell # in case we needed anything (we didn’t). If you like hiking this house sits right between the Ramsey Canyon and Carr Canyon access roads.

Peaceful! Relaxing!
We really enjoyed the opportunity to relax as well as explore. The property has an added porch that is attached to the house. We had thunderstorms almost every day. It was so relaxing to sit on the porch and watch the rain. An added plus were the birds and deer that we saw while staying there!

Peaceful Retreat at Apache Point
This is a beautiful and peaceful property. Each day many different species of birds visit the feeders strewn about the property. While I was there, baby quail and baby bunnies were out exploring the property. I particularly enjoyed the cool evenings. Regardless of the daytime temps, which never rose above 90, every evening the temps dropped to the low 60s. Talk about perfect weather! Open the windows and enjoy that cool mountain air.
The property is perfectly located for birding or hiking anywhere in the Sierra Vista or Hereford areas, or a day trip to Bisbee. And the restaurants of Sierra Vista are a short drive away. And the owners, Kathie and Mike, are very friendly and helpful.

Nice location. clean, nice hostess
We loved our stay here. The location is on the fringe of town, with nice views of Apache Point from the sunporch and from lawn chairs. The hostess responded immediately to a couple of requests we had, the house was well equipped and generally comfortable, and conveniently located to hiking and birding areas (especially for us as bird-watchers).

Great views for mountains and nature.
The property is just as you see it in the pictures posted. A little rustic with interesting history behind it, but comfortable. We loved the location for the real Arizona experience. The owners are available for any problems that may happen. It is a bird watchers delight. Other wildlife also is exciting. The only thing that was troublesome was the entry gate. Our 10 year old grandson was there to help. He liked being there for us.

Looking for Dark Skies
Kathie and Mike are great hosts and want your stay to be pleasant. The house was clean, comfortable, and in a quiet neighborhood. Quail and a variety of other birds are fun to watch and listen to during the day along with rabbits hopping around. This is a great place to relax and unwind.
3.0 / 5.0
Good location but poor heating
The heating system was inadequate for a winter stay. We could not heat the house enough to be comfortable, and no space heaters were provided. The electric heat came from the ceiling, so it dried out your respiratory system and skin. Some doors and windows had large gaps, so cold air came in, and the house was not adequately insulated. The front gate was difficult to open and close.
The modified ranch house was in a neighborhood in Hereford, AZ. The yard was large, so it was generally quiet (no one was in the adjacent rental unit while we were there in February). It was conveniently located for anyone who wanted to walk on the hiking trails in the canyons of the Huachuca Mountains, and there were grocery stores and restaurants in Sierra Vista to the north. The owners put up bird feeders, so we were able to enjoy the common local birds.
We were permitted to use the owner's clothes washer and drier, which were just outside our apartment. The sheets were piled, uncomfortable, and needed to be replaced. The larger problem was that I developed a rash over much of my body after sleeping in the bed there, which I think was owing to the bedding still having laundry detergent in it.
The owners provided more items (soaps, cleaners, toilet paper, spices, etc.) than we had experienced in other rental homes, and the kitchen dishes and cookware were adequate. The wifi was functional most of the time, and the television had a large selection of channels.
5.0 / 5.0
Apache Point Ranch
Nice, quiet, comfortable. Perfect for a single or couple. Very convenient location for birding and hiking in the canyons, yet close to Hereford and Sierra Vista.
