Central location, comfortable accomodation.
This apartment in Ceret is nice, it is centrally located and convenient for everything. It had mostly everything you would need for a holiday in which to experience living in a beautiful French town like Ceret. There are a few stairs, however, we knew about that before we went so it was fine. Also the shower in the ground floor en suite is quite small (again this is mentioned in the ad so no surprise) but it wouldn't work for a large person. To sum up, it is a comfortable house in a good location.

Quaint lodging in a quaint town
Ceret is a wonderful, friendly, picturesque French village. The homeowner couldn't have been more responsive and accommodating as we made arrangements to stay in her home. Some things to know about the apartment. It is indeed terraced - meaning vertical living over four flights (we loved the exercise) which however was complicated by a few factors. One of two bedrooms is on the bottom floor with a very teeny tiny bathroom and shower. The room was also was dank with a mildewy smell and that made sleeping in it impossible so we had to move the mattress to the living room on the top/4th floor. That made using the bathroom a hike. The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed making some meals in it. It was our only gathering place (for 2 couples) as the living room had been turned into a bedroom. That top floor also gets hot during the day (though we were seldom there during the day!) with a ceiling fan offering little relief (keep in mind if visiting during July-August). There is no AC and not great ventilation in the home as it is tucked away on a narrow side street (though the fans at night in mid-June cooled the rooms nicely). Part of the problem is Ceret is a very old town and this is likely the style you will find just about anywhere in the old part of town. You should note that there is no usable outdoor space. There are lovely photos and decorative items throughout the apartment making it feel homey. It is a little shopworn and in need of some painting. At one point we had an issue with a wonky internet connection but the both the owner (long distance) and the property managers were very responsive and helpful...within minutes! You can't beat the location if you want to step out the door and into French life.

Location, Location, Location!
The best part about this property is the location. Just a few steps to the charming heart of beautiful Céret, yet in a very quiet lane way. The house itself is compact but comfortable and includes all you need for a self catering holiday. It is spread over four floors so there are some stairs to negotiate. The comfy beds are great to fall into after a day of exploring this gorgeous town and surrounds. There are some wonderful restaurants and bars, an interesting mix of shops and some lovely local walks. We hope to return one day.

A great choice
Our experience in Ceret was a very positive one. Upon arriving, we contacted Jay (the property manager) and were met by her at the house. She gave us all of the necessary explanations. The house was well appointed, clean and had all the necessary elements to make our stay very pleasant. We have absolutely no complaints except to say that the week went by too quickly…
The house is very comfortable. Since it is a village house with 4 stories, be aware that there are many stairs so you must be able to walk up and down. Ceret is an interesting and clean village. It is perhaps the most beautiful town in the area with lots of activities and very nice people. The Saturday market is fantastic and should not be missed.
I would recommend this house strongly to anyone wanting to experience life in a French town. My impression is that the entire Languedoc-Roussillon area will be booming in a few years as it is poised to become the new Provence.

Serene Ceret
We arrived late and wandered through the magical streets of Ceret town to discover the house tucked away in a little street behind the ancient arches/ramparts of the medieval town centre. The layout of the house is cleverly done with a room on each floor and still managing to make each of the two bedrooms en-suite. It is comfortable, well equipped and right at the heart of this pretty Catalan town, which itself is the perfect base to explore the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees and northern Spain/Catalonia.
Our teenage children enjoyed it too, especially visiting the beaches and cafes at Argeles and Collioure, as well as the park at St Jean Pla des Corts which is only a few Km away.
The house is well maintained, the owner and agent being really very helpful in every regard and we'd definitely recommend it to others.

Wow, wow!
What a place! We loved every minute of our stay at 3 Rue de Ramparts in Ceret. The apartment was so well located we couldnt believe our luck We stayed here for 10 days and on our first morning we walked out but a few metres to find the markets full of fresh foods, flowers, local crafts and other interesting items. We had fun cooking up fresh produce in the quite well equipped kitchen. The apartment was nicely put together, clean and had all that we needed. The only issues we found was that we needed a couple more pillows and the size of shower in ground floor ensuite was a bit small, but nothing we couldnt overcome in this location. Ceret as a town was fabulous with lots of cafes, resturants, bakeries and other closely located shops and galleries. Being so close to the Spanish boarder you can have the best of both worlds Costa Brava one minute and Pyreneese Orientals the next . We can totally recommend a visit to the Dali Museum in Figueres and a ride on the litte yellow train and of course just enjoying Ceret and its welcoming people. Jay the local property manager was also very helpful giving ua access to some local knowleged, helping us with car hire and transport to the train station when we left. Thanks so much we loved it. A very special house in a very special town
A fantastic vacation in Ceret!! It's a very nice house in the middle of this old and special town, with galleries and nice restaurants everywhere. In the evenings there is jazz-music in the streets and a big market is arranged every Saturday. The house is origionally from the 13th century but it’s completely (and tastefully) modernised. A very nice housekeeper met us the first day and gave us all necessary information. Everything in the house was neat and clean. Ceret is close to the Pyrenees and we have been driving high up in the mountains as well as visiting the fantastic beaches at Carnet, St. Cyprien, Argeles sur Mer and the very special old town Collioure. We also made a short trip to Spain, but we prefer France. We enjoyed every minute of our vacation in Ceret, and can recommend this place to everyone that likes both walking in the mountains, swimming in the sea and nice and warm evenings with good food and wine at Place des 9 Jets, Place Pablo Picasso and Place de la Republique.
I’m sure we someday will return to Ceret!

Unique house in a superb location
The location of this house is hard to beat - right in the centre of Ceret, a stone's through away from all facilities, cafes and restaurants yet in a quiet street hidden away behind the ramparts in the old town. Behind the ancient exterier is a house completely modernised, very clean and well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. With four floors and lots of stairs, the house is not suitable for those with mobility problems but for those without the views from the top floor are well worth the climb.
