We stay in hosted properties often and this was the worst. We've never had a problem, and I think this may be the first time I provide a bad review in the eight years we've been doing it. The communication and treatment from the host was the worst. It all started with me asking, out of courtesy, if we could check in late because our flight was arriving at midnight. Well, the response was incoherent, unwelcoming, and nefarious, so I knew it would be challenging dealing with them. Then the host began harassing me about my party's age requirements and that they they would prematurely cancel our reservation and kick us out when such requirements were never specified in the listing. The host couldn't have been less welcoming. We couldn't even walk up the wooden stairs without the host messaging us during the next day that we were making too much noise, which was a preposterous claim. Again, we've never had a problem with hosted properties.
The place was Ok, but is gloomy and resembles a haunted house. I would be surprised if the top of stairs don't violate local/state/OSHA codes as there is no fall protection at the top of them. The apartment was dusty and the linens on the beds smelled like sweat. The apartment appeared to need some TLC in these regards.

We loved our stay here, it was close to the bus and easy to get to all the things we wanted to see in Seattle. The accommodations were great. We loved how close it was to the Rose garden and morning walks to Green Lake.

Definitely a nice place to stay for a quick getaway!

Very lovely home with lots of character. The location was very convenient to be away from the bustling parts of the city, yet just a quick bus ride to the downtown attractions. Street parking was always available. Hosts were friendly. Make note there is no air conditioning, so it is very warm being the upstairs suite and unfortunately we were here during a heat wave. The host does provide fans and tips for keeping it as cool as possible. We would definitely stay again, but maybe not during the height of summer.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great and easy to get to all Seattle’s touristy places as well as U W. We were there for a graduation and we’re just a few minutes away.

The house was actually larger and nicer than I expected. And quiet, which was definitely a plus. Despite appearing like it was in the suburbs, it's actually a short walk from grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants, plus a longer walk to the lake area with more of them. Not sure if we're returning to the area again, but I'd definitely look to see if this apartment was available.

Everything about this property was awesome !
Location, ease of accessibility, everything we needed for our week long trip!
The house was clean and very cozy even with cold and damp and wet every day.
We will stay there next trip !

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The owners were easy to communicate with and responsive.
Neat, quirky home built in the 1920’s with a view of the mountains from the kitchen on a clear day.
Was a great location for getting around and within walking distance to the neat restaurants on Fremont street as well as the zoo and rose garden.
Lots of street parking.
Know they are working on an outdoor area which would be great for the days that the sun pokes through.
Overall great place to stay.

My husband, adult kid and I had a great visit with our other kid while staying here, and would definitely stay again. We stayed in the upstairs unit which was very nice and which had a variety of possible sleeping arrangements - a bedroom on the main floor, a living room area that included a Murphy bed, and a loft space over the kitchen that could sleep two. It is pretty open plan, and what doors there are that close off spaces are glass, so plan accordingly. Furnishings are modern and comfortable and well chosen for the space. The bathroom is narrow but still has a good sized shower and a small washer/dryer tucked in next to the door. The hosts requested quiet hours from 10 pm to 9 am, and there were no issues with noise while we were there. There are excellent bars, restaurants and a drugstore a short walk away, as well as a nearby market. We weren’t driving so I can’t be very helpful about parking, but there seemed to always be a space nearby when I thought to look. We did have an easy time catching a bus or Lyft to anywhere we wanted to go from this location as we weren’t driving ourselves. So, all in all, it was a great choice for us, and I would recommend it!

Ideal spot and just as pictured. Easy communication with host. Active neighborhood but we felt safe here. Would stay again.

We stayed two weeks in the upstairs suite of this lovely home in Fremont. It is located in a very convenient area with very reasonable rates for the area. The upgraded bathroom and kitchen are very nice.
The unit however, could have been cleaner, and we were quite surprised that a number of simple maintenance items had not been addressed prior to our arrival.
The upstairs suite requires you to climb 14 narrow steps to enter the unit, and climb an additional 13 narrow steps to enter the loft. We had no trouble negotiating the steps, but something to be noted.
If you like to walk, Woodland Park, Woodland Zoo, Green Lake, a local grocery store, and downtown Fremont are easily reached on foot.
We rented a car and had no issues finding parking spots on the street.
I shared our concerns with the owners, they thanked us for the input, and advised us they plan to address the issues.

RATING on this place is misleading. It is shockingly dirty and dangerous. Would not have stayed, but arrived near midnight for a family wedding and could not reschedule the wedding events.
ENTRY stairs are dirty and covered with cobwebs
door lock does NOT have a deadbolt (as stated in the listing) lock mechanism is not fully attached to the entry door
MAIN LEVEL BEDROOM
bed is very lumpy and sags on one side
mattress cover disgustingly stained and dingy
headboard (?) is not attached to EITHER the bed OR the wall
2 box fans in this room (the unit does not have AC), both were dirty and 1 was rusty and missing its handle
BATHROOM
washing machine was dirty/unusable
sink seemed to be partially clogged/drained very slowly
floor was gross, both with dirt and hair
towels were dingy
shower curtain was dirty/moldy
shower exhaust was so dirty, it looked furry
KITCHEN
counter was stained and dirty with an unknown substance pooled in the far corner
trashcan had used hosiery in the bottom
fridge had stuck-on food particles in the door shelves
dish drain was gross and crusty with some pinkish substance
LIVING ROOM
not as pictured in the listing (missing a bed!)
pile of random broken things in the corner alcove
box fan in this room was unusable
small round fan was too dirty to use
LOFT AREA
bottom 3 stairs to loft have dangerously loose tread trim
broken bed frame
I'm running out of character count - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

This stay was a terrible disappointment. Here is a short list of everything we encountered:
-It was very dirty. The shower curtain was gross, there was hair in the shower and on the towels, the upstairs had clearly not been vacuumed, there were dead bugs left upstairs, there was an ant infestation in the kitchen, and the place had not been dusted in living memory.
-It was unsafe. The electrical wiring was clearly done by an amateur, with wires rigged up in various ways, and may have been a fire hazard (there was only a single exit down stairs).
-It was falling apart and was very unkempt. The bed slats broke, so the mattress sunk in on one side, there was random crap everywhere (loose screws, light fixture left upside down on the floor with bulbs in it, large glass plate precariously leaned against the wall, a large mirror leaned against wall without being mounted, plugs and wires). Just a mess.
We ended up imposing on a local friend to stay with them for the final night of our rental.
Don't stay here. It was overpriced and not well managed.

Convenient to downtown Seattle in 10 minutes. Only 15 minutes from cruise ports. Sleeps 7 people just fine. Local bus is at the corner. Walking distance to cafe, nail salon, convenience stores and grocery store. No air conditioner need to use fans.
Thank you

Great neighborhood close to the bus, grocery and restaurants. Would stay again.

Perfect location for anything you would like to do. Quick access to public transportation, ample on-street parking if you have your own vehicle, walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. Loved the direct route to the city.

This property is pretty and unique, however, it is not appropriate for children. First off the pictures do not match what you get. There were multiple tools and nails left places. One of the side tables was supposed to me screwed into the wall for stability, but only placed. The entry way was completely unsafe for children. There are multiple signs around the apartment asking for quiet and you can only turn the tv up so loud. All of that is fine! I just wish it said it in the description. I have a 1 year old, 2 year old and a 7 year old. My youngest 2 have special needs and my 2 year old has severe sensory issues on top of that. Since there was no ac and we were on the top floor, it was scorching hot. My 2 year old was up all night and couldnt sleep. None of the fans provided worked, and he struggled to hear the tv. There were so many unsafe items for children. The owners solution is to leave the door open to catch a draft. Again, not safe for children. This place is appropriate for people without kids and really should advertised as such. I would have never stayed here with my family.

Great neighborhood stay in north Fremont. Nice to be close to Seattle town but have the charm of staying in a more relaxed setting. House has a lot of character and the accommodation had quirky charm. Loft room was handy, as was the Murphy bed in the living space- great for family with two adolescent boys who need separate beds. Well stocked with what you need, with the exception of tea towels. Still made that work, and would return for a stay again in the future.
Thanks for having us!

I will stay again. Excellent location and host

The suite has been modernized and is both functional and comfortable. Location was convenient, just outside city center, with restaurants, stores within walking distance.
A number of the appointments (shelves, homemade headboard) were not of the finest quality, but everything worked. The noise rules (eg. "don't bang suitcases against stairs on your way up") are stringent because of the old house with no sound insulation and multiple occupants. Probably impossible to comply if you have kids.

Great location. Nice building and friendly hosts.
Needs better instructions on TV usage.
Overall good experience. Plenty of room for 4 people

First time using VRBO; smooth process would do it again in a heartbeat. Very quiet safe neighborhood, slept with the windows open every night. Mexican restaurant around the corner was very good & a short drive to downtown.
4.6
The property was charming and in a great location, and the hosts were very nice. We were a little concerned with the wiring, which seemed like a DIY job. On occasion the kitchen lights dimmed for no apparent reason, and a reading light mounted in the headboard of the bed fell out of its mounting. There is no dishwasher, so hopefully the previous guests do a good job of washing the dishes. We ran into a couple of items that were not quite clean.

We loved our stay at this property. Wonderful sitting room to read in. The location is excellent: we used to live nearby, and picked it for convenient buses.
When the internet was slow, we contacted the hosts and they got back to us very quickly and fixed the issue promptly.

This rental was the perfect birthday getaway for my daughter and myself. Very close to the bus stop into the city. We enjoyed the sites of the city and we were able to walk to the zoo and beautiful garden just up the street!!

Location was AWESOME!!! The price was manageable. The only issue was the upstairs bedroom. Was pretty hot. No A.C. the space is small, but it is so well appointed and thought out it was wonderful!

Cute Place to stay
Cute place to stay, and has easy access to get to and from anywhere in Seattle. Parking at times was always a mystery, but we never parked too far from the residence. The only problem we had was getting the tv to work but that was really no problem at all. Talked to the owner the night before we left ( she lives on-site) and mentioned the tv issue. Definitely, the next time the family goes to Seattle, this is going to be the first place I will check to see if it is available.

A charming house with multiple sections for rent-we had the larger space suitable for six. The kitchen was gallery-style, but large enough to meet any needs. The upstairs bed provides privacy for teenagers. The furnishings are lovely and the beds are comfortable. Although the rules about noise seem much, they aren’t. The owners are simply trying to ensure normal modes of respect and quite honestly there are people who have no clue what that means. We never had a problem. We watched tv at a normal volume and spoke conversation at a regular level. No issues and we appreciated and enjoyed our stay!!

My family of 3 adults stayed here (the upper unit) for 3 weeks! We were considering a move to Seattle, and felt safe at this place despite the COVID risks with no vaccine at the time. Contactless check-in was easy, the hosts' descriptions are accurate and the host checked on us.
We nicknamed the place "Grand Central" since the decor reminds us a bit of Grand Central train station, NYC. The neighborhood is nice, much quieter than we were used to despite the occasional construction, and while there's not really a yard to use, it's so close to the Woodland Park Rose Garden which is lovely to sit in.
Our only complaints are that the electricity is wired a bit oddly, so if you use a lot of appliances be careful not to plug them all into the same circuits; and that there isn't much privacy from each other because one bedroom door is glass and the other has no door as it's the upstairs floor.
Other reviewers mentioned heat, that can be an issue as the kitchen air goes right up to the second bedroom which only has one window, but the nights are cool and if you can open the windows the place airs out well. The kitchen works well and has great dishes, though bring some of your own cookware if you cook a lot.
Parking on the street was really easy to find, often right in front of the house and if not then still within sight of it.

We were in the Seattle area for 4 days, group of 4 ladies geocaching, exploring and touristing. The place is amazing, would have wished for AC only because it was unusually HOT the days we were there. Hosts shared fans with us so we were able to sleep comfortably. I would definitely stay here again...
