We had a lovely stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The barn was very roomy, well equipped with beautiful views out of the patio window. Our granddaughters loved playing in the paddock, a real asset to the property. Its surrounded by beautiful countryside and the nearest village is only a

The barn was spacious and comfortable. The two bathrooms were a big plus. The kitchen was well equipped. The outside area was lovely and our dog - had she come - would have loved it. The place is very calm and relaxing. Philip was very helpful and responsive when we needed support.
The pillows in the master bedroom were rather flat. Intermittently, pressure in the shower was very low and/or the water was cold.

This spacious converted barn was perfect for our stay. Larger than it looks in the photos.
Well equipped kitchen with plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery. The hosts provided tea, milk and coffee supplies upon approval which was appreciated before going to a bigger shop at the nearby grocery store. There was also salt and pepper. Plenty of soap and detergent too.
The location is in a peaceful setting with lovely views. In additional to the large tv in the living room which includes a dvd player, there were smaller TVs in the bedrooms. We also enjoyed the board games.
Hosts were helpful. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Really super property with great facilities and excellent for dogs. We stayed over Christmas and had everything we needed in the kitchen for a full Christmas lunch! The barn is very comfortable cosy and warm the Christmas tree was a great touch along with the doggy gift! Our hosts were fantastic and answered all our pre visit questions very quickly and the recommendations for eating out were very good.
We’d love to return when the weather is nicer to explore more.

The booking process was really easy and great communication from the owners before our arrival inc. great directions and nearby shops. The checking in process was easy and we were fortunate on this occasion to be able to enter the property earlier than originally planned. The property is as lovely as it looks on the pictures and all facilities that you need are provided. The outdoor space was certainly safe for my 2 dogs to run around and they loved it. The beds were incredibly comfortable also. There is plenty of space to sit at the kitchen table and eat or you can sit on the bench outside (weather permitting) and enjoy the views. There is ample room for all of your clothes, food and belongings and plenty of parking. The road in and out of the Little Owl Barn is a little hair-raising with some blind bends. We were able to visit Weymouth, Ilfracombe, Woolacoombe, Exeter and Exmouth within an hours drive of the Barn, but again some typical scary Devon country roads to contend with! The Barn has high ceilings upstairs which allows for lots of light to come in which is lovely. The bedrooms downstairs are cooler and darker allowing for a good nights sleep. Despite it being an old barn, there are no creaky floorboards or stairs and being quite remote it is very peaceful and tranquil. I would definitely recommend Little Owl Barn, great place, great hosts :-)

A very beautiful house in a quiet location. Little owl barn was super clean and nicely decorated. A lot of space in the house and a huge garden. Also ideal for dog owners. The landlords Sarah and Philip were very friendly and helpful. An accommodation that we can recommend without any restriction.
Thank you for everything!

We stayed here for a week from Easter Saturday. We had our 2 dogs with us that absolutely loved the garden and paddock to play in. The home was spacious, light, clean and very well equipped. We will definitely wish to return and recommend anyone to stay here.

We have just spent a fabulous nine nights at Little Owl. March’s weather is always a bit hit and miss but we had a glorious day of sunshine on the beach in Sidmouth. Most days were spent with crisp but dry walks with the dogs in the locality. You have to see the zombie rams in a local farm, aesthetically challenged but very calm as we walked through their field with three dogs. A ten minute drive takes you to Culmstock Beacon and stunning panoramic views . Heddons mouth and Hunters Inn is just over an hour way, but well worth a visit. The house is beautiful, clean and well equipped, the huge garden and neighbouring secure paddock are a godsend. Our dogs are small terriers but were still unable to escape . I went riding about 45 mins away at Pine lodge , which was chilly but beautiful. Paul celebrated his 60th birthday during our stay and Phil and Sarah kindly left us a chilled bottle of Fizz in the fridge, which was very kind. We will come again .

From the communication with Phillip & Sarah before we arrived to the day we left everything was excellent. The house is lovely and exactly as described, it was the perfect base for our holiday and the dog loved having the huge enclosed garden to run around in. The owners have created a wonderful property and base to enjoy Somerset from or just to relax in a beautiful house with stunning views.

What a beautiful barn conversion. Philip was so welcoming and called to make sure we had settled in and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was top quality and very clean and tidy. There was plenty of space for the five of us both inside and out and the garden/paddock had beautiful views over the hills. Ideal for children to play or dogs to exercise. Location was excellent and so close to Taunton with many places to visit. Thank you. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this lovely find.

Great week relaxing at Little Owl Barn. The weather was amazing, the boys and our dog Percy made the most of the fantastic garden space - it was relaxing, comfortable and had everything we needed. The most amazing view from the patio where we had the pleasure of seeing the moon rise each evening and on our last night a super moon. What’s not to love!

Outstanding. Totally awesome in every way.
I honestly cannot fault our weeks stay. Property is more than we could have asked for. Exceptionally clean, spacious, comfortable and the gardens were perfect for our dogs. Not 1 paddock but 2! It is perfectly located for trips out. We visited Devon (North and south) Dorset and areas of Somerset and nowhere was more than an hour away. The owners have thought of everything you would want and need. Absolutely exceptional. I have already had enquiries from dog loving friends and would thoroughly recommend. Thank you Philip and Susan.

Wow- what an amazing break in this stunning barn
Just back from a weeks stay in this gorgeous converted barn with family of 3 plus the pooch.
First impression was that the barn was extremely clean and tidy and very well equipped. The upstairs open plan living space is huge, and the bedrooms are roomy and beds are super comfy.
Owners Philip and Sarah go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, nothing seems to be too much trouble. From the tea, coffee, milk and bottled water provided to linen, towels and even toilet rolls,
We enjoyed some very much needed family connection time and thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine playing a few card and board games. We also relaxed on the reclining sofas on some evenings and watched a movie.
The enclosed paddock has stunning views and was a just the perfect place for our 2 year old vizsla to run around, especially with the heatwave, it meant he could still run around without the risk of burning his pads on hot pavements.
We did a few local walks that Philip had recommended and they were beautiful. Highly recommend this barn if you want some relaxing down time and to completely unwind.
Definitely plan to revisit and have recommended to a few friends already.
Thank you Philip and Sarah, it is rare to find a holiday rental so clean and accommodating

First impressions when we arrived was wow! Parking excellent and everything perfect when we arrived. We have three dogs and as soon as we went upstairs to the main living area and they saw a rabbit in the huge enclosed acre of field they flew out and we hardly ever saw them.
Normally at home we walk them twice a day. No need here. It was so hot that we wouldn’t have gone out with them anyway but saying that we relaxed fully knowing they were so safe.
The barn itself was everything we needed. Comfortable beds and two bathrooms.
It would be perfect for families too as the children have freedom to explore.
Area perfect. Appears isolated but within a couple of miles of everything you need in Wellington. Close to Taunton and we hit the cricket Twenty/20. Beautiful little ground compared to our huge Old Trafford.
Walks in area are fab for dogs.
We didn’t hit local tourist haunts due to having 3 dogs but we were chomping at the bit to explore as so much to do.
We didn’t realise Somerset was so beautiful. I’d like to rent this place all summer and go home during the winter.
Sadly we returned home. Dogs very subdued and we just want to return.
We will be back.

Wonderful holiday cottage
The property was very spacious and perfect for myself and my family both indoor and out. The cottage was a wonderful place to stay, it was very well equipped, very clean, it's light and bright and just a lovely place to be. Outside has a large meadow that our children and ourselves loved with the children asking not to go on days out to the many nearby attractions as loved playing in the secured meadow. The location is great for days out too. Thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent at Little Owl Barn.

Spacious and clean property, great for dogs
We had a great stay at Little Owl Barn. Tranquil setting, great for dogs, very clean. A fenced off area for our spaniel was particularly welcome and the property had everything we needed for a relaxing break.

Really great stay. Very clean, good location.
Our family had a great stay here for 5 nights in March 2022. Large paddock attached to back of barn was bonus and kids had great fun playing football and rugby there.

Amazing place to stay.
What a great place to stay for my family and our dog Ollie. The barn was immaculately clean when we arrived and comfortable in every way. I had only been there for 30 minutes and it felt like home, totally relaxing, peaceful and with great views. I cannot thank our hosts Philip and Sarah enough for being so accommodating and making us feel so welcome. Ollie our dog had a great time as well in the secure large garden and enjoying walks around the local area. We all can't wait to go back and enjoy our new found home away from home.

A relaxing stay
The two of us stayed for two weeks with our two westies. A lovely well appointed property, very clean with lots of character. The open plan lounge/kitchen/diner was light and airy with spectacular view over countryside to Wellington Memorial. The garden was brilliant - large and secure for our dogs. Philip was an excellent host, living just round the corner - on hand for any queries but at pains to keep a low profile, which we really appreciated.

Faultless property in beautiful surroundings
We had a much needed week of R&R here at the start of the kids summer holidays. Communication with the owners was clear and helpful, check in (and out!) was extremely easy and we were encouraged to relax at all times. The cottage itself is lovely with beautiful views and the most fabulous outside space. We both agreed this was the best equipped self catering cottage we have ever stayed in, really excellent. We can’t wait to come back (and neither can our pooch!) Thank you for a great stay.

Perfect place to unwind and relax.
We have just returned from a weeks stay at the lovely Little owl barn. A spotless first class spacious accommodation with wonderful views which we will sadly miss.
Our Great Dane and our German shepherd cross just loved the huge garden .Phil the owner lives just down the road ,and his main concern is you have an enjoyable stay and want for nothing.
Cant speak highly enough of our overall experience.
Thank you.
Will be back soon.

Relaxing beautiful spot
This is a property that is built and maintained to a high standard in beautiful countryside. The garden and views are a highlight as well as the as the accommodation. Philip was friendly, helpful and was nearby if needed. We were a family group with a child under 1 and the rooms and grounds were ideal, the only issue was the local lanes which were too narrow to risk walking with a buggy and meeting traffic, not something the owner can control and for most hirers probably not a relevant factor.

One of the Best Accommodation I Have Stayed In
The Little Owl Barn is a is a beautiful barn conversion and is definitely of a 5star standard.
You are in the depth of the country, but the town of Wellington with all its amenities including restaurants and supermarkets (Waitrose & Asda) is near by.
Inside the Barn it is welcoming and cosy and has everything you could possibly want. The beds were comfortable and the outside, two fields for our springer spaniel (Toby) to run around in. There was no fear of him escaping into the roads as they were securely fenced. He loved it. Also, there is a walk that takes you around the property, which meant I got some exercise as well as Toby.
Philip, the owner, ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. He was there when you wanted him, but otherwise left you alone to enjoy your stay.
We had a great holiday, particularly after lockdown, we weren't disappointed at all.
Thanks for a great holiday.

Outstanding Staycation
We have just returned home today from a week at this beautiful upside barn. What a stunning property which was well equipped with absolutely everything you could wish for. Perfect location too for travelling to beaches and other beautiful places, we visited Exmouth Beach, Wimbleball Lakes we did the 9 mile walk well worth it for the views and scenery, Minehead, Lyme Regis where we did the coastal path walk and spent some time around the town which was just lovely, walks in Langford Budville,Watchet Beach..our two dogs have had the most amazing exhausting week ever too..the property is just delightful inside and out, the garden wow our two pooches are real runners and they just loved it..thank you Sarah & Philip for providing us with literally everything we could of asked for... Jackie, Mick - Reggie & Ronnie we've had the best holiday and will definitely be re-booking..

Fantastic property and location.
Everything about Little Owl Barn is Ist Class. The views from the super large rear garden are spectacular as is the barn's interior, and the garage is large enough for 2 or 3 cars. The location, in the countryside could not be better. Highly recommended.

Ideal Barn and Paddock for Family Gathering
Little Owl Barn lived up to all my expectations. The upside down layout works extremely well and maximises the views across the Somerset countryside to Wellington Monument. The Barn is equipped with everything that you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday. The living and sleeping accommodation is well thought out with plenty of parking and a great outdoor space. The paddocks were perfect for our 11 month old wirehaired pointer cross to safely explore and play. Days out at Killerton, the Tiverton Canal and the Culm Valley River Walk, (lunch at the pub recommended), helped with his social education which has been difficult during lockdown.
We hadn't seen our family in Devon since a family birthday in January 2019. Little Owl Barn provided the perfect place for a family gathering with plenty of room indoors and out for children and dogs to play whilst the adults caught up. Little Owl Barn was voted the best place we have stayed in for our family catch ups by the children and I agree with them.
Thank you to Philip for being so welcoming and helpful during our stay. All being well we will be back again for a late autumn break when I will definitely have had my hip replacement so that I can walk up to the Monument and along the Beacon with our dog instead of waiting in the car!

Excellent property and location
Really lovely stay at the Little Owl Barn In June 2021
The accommodation is perfect and has everything you need, the garden is very spacious with great views of the local hills with the Wellington monument.
The location is good for exploring both north and south coats within 45 mins plus Exmoor and has local activities nearby such as clay pigeon shooting/ fishing . There are walks from the doorstep too and lots of country pubs with good food.
The owners are very helpful and nearby if needed ,we would recommend this property for both those wishing to relax in a peaceful setting or even for those who want a base to explore all whats on offer in Somerset and nearby East Devon and Dorset, we will definitely be back !!

Relaxing week at Little Owl Barn
This is a lovely property , spotlessly clean on arrival and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need . The dogs loved the large enclosed paddock to run around in whilst we sat on the patio with a glass of wine enjoying the views to the Wellington Monument and the peace and quiet . The owners are very friendly and welcoming , we would definitely recommend this property and would love to return

Escape after lockdown
Delightful property with fantastic open views from the living room. Well equipped and cosy. Mattress issue discussed with the owner and is in hand. Well placed to visit both north and south coasts easily. Our only slight disappointment was that dog walking seems to be limited to lead walking but perhaps we didn’t find the right places .

The perfect place for our troop!
What a find this was! However, with all the Covid restrictions and lockdowns, we had to wait quite a while before we could stay, but it was definitely worth the wait! We couldn’t believe the size of the garden/paddock when we arrived, and neither could our Greyhounds! :)
Philip made us feel very welcome, the place was immaculate when we arrived, and a truly lovely place to stay, away from it all. With a huge lounge & kitchen (upstairs) we had plenty of space to relax in during the day & evenings, along with the 2 Greyhounds snoozing away in their beds (in between sprinting round the garden!). Unfortunately the weather wasn’t particularly kind to us, so we probably spent a lot more time at the barn than maybe we would’ve done, but with it being such a great place, that made it a much nicer time. In between the rain showers, we had a good time in the garden with the dogs, and could also use the adjacent paddock, although the main garden was plenty big enough!
The bedrooms (downstairs) were clean & spacious, and had plenty of cupboard space. Along with a nice bathroom for one of us to use, and an ensuite for the main bedroom, that made it all the more easier for the 3 of us. The two single beds could be pushed together to make a double which was great for me, however, the two mattresses were a bit uncomfortable & had obviously seen better days :(
We couldn’t quite take full advantage of all the lovely pubs & cafes nearby, what with everything being outdoor dining only when we stayed & we weren’t quite prepared to sit outside in torrential rain & hail lol! But we did find some nice little places for takeout food. And some good walks too. We’re quite familiar with Somerset, having stayed many times before, so we headed up to Wimbleball lake on one of the days, somewhere we’ve visited a few times. It’s a lovely place with some great views. And if you park at Haddon Hill, you can still see the lake & can walk across the moors.
Overall it was a lovely week in one of our favourite parts of the West Country & we’ve already booked our next stay in October!
Thank you Philip & Sarah! :)

A Beautiful Barn in the heart of the Stunning Somerset Countryside
Little Owl Barn is a wonderful place to stay. It is a beautiful home which has plenty of luxury but with charm and character. As soon as we arrived we were blown away!
The Barn is wonderfully peaceful and you feel away from it all, yet is close to the market town of Wellington with all its amenities including restaurants and supermarkets (Waitrose & Asda) and array of lovely local shops. It really is the best of both worlds.
Inside the Barn is warm and spacious and has everything you could possibly want for a home from home. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Outside there is a massive paddock to run around in and there are local country walks.
Philip and Sarah the owners were exceptional hosts and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. Philip’s attention to detail is second to none. They really care that you have a great holiday.
Little Owl Barn exceeded all our expectations and we absolutely loved it! Thank you Philip & Sarah.
