Getting Around
By Bus:
We are fortunate enough to have an excellent bus system in Thanet. Our comprehensive routes enable you to make the most of your visit by reducing journey times between each town and village.
‘The Thanet Loop’ is one of the most frequent services in the UK, running on average every 7 minutes and operates 7 days a week, from early morning until late evening. This service provides excellent connections between Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate, and also to Westwood Cross shopping and leisure complex.
The Bus stop for The Loop Bus is located outside the Thanet District Council on Cecil Street, just a few minutes walk from the Anchorage. The bus can be caught in both directions. Ask the driver which side of the road most suits your journey.
Other bus services offered by Stagecoach will enable easy access to the villages. The number 8 bus provides excellent links from Thanet to the nearby city of Canterbury.
A ‘Dayrider' ticket is ideal for exploring the area, allowing you to hop-on or hop-off at any point, without limits and on any Stagecoach bus in Thanet.

The house was perfect for a weekend away with three couples. Really clean and we used the garden for all our meals. The location is definitely 11\10. Under a 5 minute walk to the beach and the old town with great bars and restaurants.
Would highly recommend.

Wonderfully spacious, clean, lots of amenities and even toys for the kids! This place was wonderful to stay, just a short walk to the beach, arcades, dreamland, and train station. Everything was clean and we had no issues while we were there. Highly recommend for families or larger groups!

Great property, well equipped and very clean.
Finding the key in dark was tricky and would have liked a few more clues as to where to find it.
However once inside everything was lovely
Thanks

Fabulous house
The house is even better than the pics. The downstairs area is really spacious with great thought given to the different areas. Worked really well for us, a group of 6 with a crawling baby. Lovely touches everywhere, interesting books and simple contemporary decor. A really comfortable space. Two really big bedrooms & a twin & lovely bathroom. Right in the buzziest area of town & minutes from the beach. So much for everyone on the doorstep!

Amazing Place for 6
Amazing property and brilliant hosts. The place was spotless and had everything that we needed for our trip. It’s in a great central location. The Thai restaurant 10 yards up the road is great.

Awesome location, within walking distance of the beach, shops and a Morrison's. We loved Pete's fish & chip shop.

Lovely house, great location
We were 3 sets of adults sharing the house, and even though it's one shared bathroom that didn't present a problem. The property is in an excellent location and well maintained and has some nice touches.

We had a great stay here to enable a family get together after Christmas. The property is very well equipped and comfortable. I would highly recommend.

Lovely spacious property in a great location
This is the second time we have stayed in this property and we really enjoyed ourselves. We came to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday. There were 6 of us but the house provided more than enough room. It was clean and comfortable and is in a great location in the old town of Margate. The outside space needs a little attention but this is probably just due to the summer season wear and tear. I have no doubt we will most likely return again in the future.

Excellent location
We spent a few days at the Anchorage. The location was ideal, near to supermarkets and the old town. The beach was a short walk away.
The house was a real treat, it was spacious and comfortable. The care and attention to detail is evident. Everything had been carefully thought through for guests so you need not worry about anything. Thank you Kish and Fiona. We hope to be back again soon.

Great place to stay.
Lovely house in a great location. Had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Well equipped. Lovely big bedrooms and bathroom.
We loved Margate too and would recommend both the house and place.
An added bonus-the design books on the bookshelves and little design details that took the house out of the ordinary.

Great property
Lovely house conveniently place for the town centre and the sea front,
It was very hot weekend but house was cool, lovely, plenty of room, 6 adults didn’t get each other’s way.
Enjoyed the wine left!!
Only downsize was the parking but 1 car safety parked in bay all weekend, and as Margate has very cheap all day parking within a 8-10 walk away it worked well one couple said they would use house again for a weekend.

Great location and lovely house
We had a lovely few days in Margate. The house is a perfect base for exploring the Kent coast. In particular we enjoyed a walk from Margate to Broadstairs. The house itself is surprisingly spacious inside and is really a home from home.

Lovely 1920 house, very well furnished and well supplied with essentials. Good position in Old Town!
We really enjoyed staying at the Anchorage. It is very spacious and airy, tastefully furnished and the owners have supplied essentials like loo rolls and bin bags and - most impressive of all - spare light bulbs! Very clean and good quality linen and towels. Great family house. It is ideally situated for interesting shops, lots of places to eat and the beach. We would like to visit Margate again and would definitely book this house again. Thanks Kish and Fiona.
8.0
A lovely house in a great part of Margate. Had never visited Margate before but would recommend it-.
The house is beautifully decorated with good facilities and a lovely outdoor sitting area. Would definitely recommend. The only drawback is the lack of designated parking. We parked in a nearby car park which involved a bit of a walk and it added to the cost of the holiday. A provided parking permit would have helped.
