Guests praised the beautiful, well-equipped house in a picturesque village with stunning scenery, comfortable rooms, and great facilities. Ideal for exploring the area with delicious cake and helpful hosts.

This is a beautiful house in a picturesque village surrounded by stunning countryside. The house is really well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. We did country walks from the house on both days we were there and the scenery was spectacular - there is so much to explore and enjoy in this area. I would thoroughly recommend this property and hope we might return there in the future.

A lovely furnished cottage with plenty of space for a family. Spotlessly clean and and furnishings very comfortable. Only drawback for us was that both double beds had soft mattresses, especially the main bedroom!!! Otherwise, perfect in every way!!!

A great base to explore the area from. The best equipped self-catering kitchen I've come across. Large bedrooms, great showers and enough living space to spread out and do your own thing if wanted (handy when holidaying with older children/teens).
The only potential downside we found is that there are steps up and down throughout plus varnished wooden treads on the stairs, so it's a bit tricky for anyone who's less steady on their feet.
Other great benefits of staying here include a delicious cake, speedy broadband and an electric car charge point.

My wife and I needed a good sized property located for easy access to the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. This property is perfectly located in a quiet village within easy reach of excellent walks and cycle routes. The Coach House is comfy, well equipped and in a quiet spot. The pub nearby did good food and is within 2 minutes walking distance. Overall a superb spot. The owners were on hand for enquiries and were very helpful.

A lovely house to stay in, for four OAP friends. We met up for lunch in the Ostrich and visited the church on our forst afternoon. We got out to Symonds Yat on our first full day and enjoyed sitting in the garden chairs in the late afternoon. The kitchen was easy to use, as we self catered for two nights. We visited Tintern Abbey on the next day and watched a falconry display, and then treated ourselves to a meal at the Ostrich on our last night. All very delightful things to do while we were there and we felt so at home, going back to the Coach House each day. Highly recommended.

The cottage is spacious and well appointed. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The cottage was warm and cosy in the cold weather. We had everything we needed. A great stay! We would definitely go again.

Three huge bedrooms, very comfy beds and a warm house.
It is in a lovely setting, not really a village, no shop but a lovely pub currently only open Thurs-Sun. Set in beautiful countryside and good walking.

Everything you could need was thought of and provided in the property. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen, so anything you needed had been thought of! Plenty of space, sitting areas, board games and 2 tvs. It was also lovely and cool inside when temperatures outside were in the 30s. Beautiful church opposite and a village pub within walking distance

Perfect Stay in an ideal location
Booked the property to meet up with family, and work remotely. Worked out perfectly. It’s a quiet location and well placed to explore the area. Off street parking is a bonus, and an easy walk to The Ostrich for some good home cooked food. Thanks!!

Lovely property in a lovely location
We stayed for a long weekend and found the property to be absolutely ideal- it's full of character yet extremely practical. It housed our 3 couples extremely comfortably and we did all our own cooking as the local pub was temporarily closed

Great house and week walking and visting local area
Loved the location and the house was great. The Kids were able to have their own section away from the Adults! Great dog walks around the local area, and plenty of places to drive to and walk. Monmouth is close (12 mins away) and has take-out and good shops. Our host was super helpful and had great advice. House was very comfortable and well equipped. I would highly reccomend it. The village is small and no shops, so you will need to drive to get supplies, but plenty of shops and towns near by. Great host a very enjoyable holiday.

A fabulous weekend get-away
This is a perfect property for a family or a group of friends to stay in a stunning location. There is lots to see and do in the area and the house is great to enjoy in the evening after a great day out.

Half term get away
We had a relaxing break at the Coach House. The property was roomy and had all that we needed. Along with attractive period features. We were situated in a good location for venturing out across the Forest of Dean and near by towns. Despite it being before many activities open up fir the year (which is in March) we found things for the kids to do (high ropes, lake walks, swimming, cinema). The only problem was that I picked this accommodation because my dad has mobility issues, but sadly he found it very difficult to manage even the few steps in the property. Perhaps some grab rails and extra steps to put in front of the larger steps would help to make the property more accessible to disabled users. But over all we managed and had an enjoyable time; and our host was most courteous too.

Great host!
We had a really comfortable stay at the Coach House. Unfortunately like many others we were impacted by Storm Arwen, but Alison and Dave did what they could to minimise the impact. Lovely location for getting out into the countryside.

Excellent cottage
The cottage is spacious and comfortable with excellent showers, comfortable beds and a lovely enclosed courtyard great for our dogs. The owners were very friendly and communicated well prior to our arrival. We very much appreciated the cake. The village of Newland is very pretty with lots to do and see within a few miles. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at the coach house.

The perfect house in the perfect location. We had a really relaxing break. Our hosts were very thoughtful and left a lot of little extras which enhanced our stay, including a lovely homemade cake. The accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed.

Lovely property
The coach house was much bigger than we expected the village is very pretty although just a church and pub unfortunately couldn't do any of the walks suggested because of the weather. The road the coach house is on is very busy first thing so bit noisy in the two front bedrooms .the court yard at the back is very pretty and I'm sure on a sunny day would be lovely to sit in . The house is very well equipped and very clean and plenty big enough for six. Alison the owner greeted us and left cake which was very nice she gave us ideas of places to visit and had we wanted would have cooked an evening meal for us . Unfortunately the weather was really bad and we left a day earlier than expected but we hope to return next spring so we can take full advantage of the area

Fabulous Stay in Newland
Lovely property with masses of space. We were 6 adults and there was heaps of space for all of us. Very clean and tidy. We ordered a meal for Sunday night from the owners and it was delicious and plentiful. Easy to find and easy access to all attractions. Highly recommend.

Great house, great location
We had a lovely stay here as three couples, we had lots of space so we could all do our own thing and not get in each others' way, but also enough space to come together for meals. We had good communication with the owners.
The house is gorgeous, furnished to a high standard with everything you could need. We loved the enclosed courtyard garden, particularly for breakfast.
The village is quiet, with a great pub (recommended!) and the church is well worth a visit. We found it a great location to walk and cycle from, the Forest of Dean is excellent for both. We also spent time at Symonds Yat kayaking, walking and cycling there.
I would highly recommend this property and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Spacious house in great location
We really enjoyed our stay at The Coach House. It had everything we needed and was just a short drive away from shops and attractions. It is far more spacious in real life and Alison had left us a cake which was a really lovely welcome. There is so much to do in this area and we will hopefully be back soon.

Well equipped, comfortable property in a great location for long walks in the country, biking in the Forest of Dean and canoeing on the River Wye. The beds were so comfy and the welcome, homemade cake was delicious! Thanks to Ali for looking after us and making us feel welcome.

Overall made for a nice, luxury break with friends
Great location, lots of walks from the door, good pubs etc. Nice spacious property, luxury showers, comfortable beds, smart tvs, well equipped kitchen. Only slight downsides to us was the at-times really busy and rather noisy road on which its situated - it's on a hill so cars and vans really accelerated up it! Its also directly opposite the church and the bells sound on the quarter hour, so if you're used to pretty much total peace and quiet like we are, then both noises were a bit intrusive and unwelcome at times!
We were only there for a long weekend so it was a nice surprise to have been left a lovely homemade apple and almond cake for us, but surprising to have been left no milk at all. Most places I've stayed have had at least 1pt milk so you can have a cup of tea on arrival. Seemed a bit strange to not have that, but to have an obviously time-consuming cake made for us!?
Probably nit-picking but sometimes its the devil in the detail that really makes it.

Staying at Newland
This is a most delightful place to have a short break. Newland village is quite lovely with a magnificent church and a welcoming but quite quirky pub. The coach house is immaculately clean and comfortable. The beds particularly so. Top class bathrooms with great showers. The kitchen has everything a masterchef might need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic holiday home
Just spent a week at this property and we were all so impressed with the good quality of furnishing & fittings. Beds were very comfortable with good quality linen. Lots of thoughtful little starters in the kitchen like tea, coffee etc. Very spacious throughout. Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you.

Everything we Hoped for
Alison had left a tasty cake which we enjoyed on arrival. The Coach House was clean and tidy with everything provided. The rooms are large providing plenty of room for 5 and a dog. The beds were large and very comfortable and the 2 bathrooms had excellent showers. We enjoyed the wood fire as the evenings were cool despite the days being nice and sunny. There is a lot to do in the area and the Ostrich Inn 100 yds away and the White Hores Inn in Staunton 10 mins drive away were both excellent. We had an enjoyable week and hope to return.
