About this house rental
Newly renovated Beach House located 2.5 miles north of the heart of Duck and 1.5 miles south of The Sanderling Resort. (Bike/Walking trail in both directions) The side porch has an AMAZING view overlooking the Sound perfect for evening sunsets. It is also a short 4-5 min walk to the beach for beautiful morning sunrises. A wonderful place for a little relaxation. My husband and I bought this house in Duck for family vacations to create many memories but wanted to share that with others. We currently live in Currituck but love going to Duck for the weekends

We had a group of 5 stay at the property, including two young kids. The location was great. Host was very helpful at check in and was happy to answer any questions. Would certainly stay again.

We rented this cute property for the weekend to stay in before we checked into our weekly rental in Corolla. Much better than a hotel room!! Location to beach access easy 5 min walk and to get to the main drag in Duck was great, although no uber or taxi is available to take you. The 3 we called wont drive in on weekends because of traffic in Duck. So plan ahead and leave early for dinners its an 1.5 wait anywhere you go and we just shopped while we waited!! Host suggested NC Coastal for dinner and it was so worth the wait. We enjoyed the deck in the morning for coffee and you get a great view of the sun and sound. The beds are comfy. Really liked that the master bedroom had a connected bathroom for my in laws. The house was clean and the host was very responsive to all my inquiries. Only problem we had was ants on the table on the deck from the previous renters ,must have spilled something and we cleaned that up with some soap and water. Overall great stay and would come back.

The house was perfectly located. It was clean and A/C was great. Our days were hot and humid so it was needed along with fans in the rooms. There were bikes, lots of chairs (some in fairly
new condition), a beach buggy and coolers. We noticed a lot of sand toys too. We enjoyed the sunsets and easy walk to the beach. The place was clean and laid out well. A few areas for improvement — supply some more glasses (for drinking and cocktails), a propane grill, and invest in adding pavers or cement around the outside shower / storage closet. We’d rent here again! Thank you!

This was the perfect spot for our family! We’ve stayed in Duck many times, but had to split our large group up into smaller houses. This was perfect for my parents, my husband, and our baby! The house was clean, lots of helpful beach gear, kitchenware, and comfortable beds. The bikes and deck/view were awesome! Thanks for your hospitality, Kim and TJ!

We loved the house. It was very clean! It was a short walk to the beach. We had a 10 month old with us. We used a beach wagon. The outlet to the beach was a ramp. There were no steps which made it so much easier. There was a beautiful view of the bay from the deck. The sunset was beautiful. We will definitely stay there again!

We spent the Labor Day long weekend here and it worked out perfectly. The walk to the beach is quick and easy. the house is well appointed and plenty of space. The deck has a nice view of the sound that we enjoyed while eating dinner.

Nice comfortable house. We had our son& girlfriend and another couple staying with us for the weekend. Great location. Close to Duck. Just a few minute walk to the beach. Love that beach bikes, beach cart and chairs were available for our use during our stay. We were only there for a weekend wedding at Sanderling so didn’t get to spend much time on the beach or use the bikes but would love to come back again. The complimentary bottle of wine was very thoughtful too. Thanks again.

Perfect stay in Duck!
This house was great for our family of four, which includes two teenagers. Plenty of space, clean, and had everything we needed. Easy walk to the beach. Easy drive to Duck - I enjoyed staying north of the village and being out of the crowds. Kim was great to communicate with - I had a lot of questions and she graciously answered them all! Recommend renting beach gear from Ocean Atlantic Rentals. I think we paid $32 for a big umbrella and two chairs for a day and they let us return at noon the next day without additional charge. For just a little more you can have gear for the whole week. Recommend North Duck Watersports (walking distance from house) for jet ski, kayak, etc. rentals. And for food: Duck Donuts (of course!), Coastal Cravings (best crab cakes), Coastal Cantina for nice boardwalk Mexican eats, and Mama Easley’s in Corolla (wicked good fish and chips). Kim and TJ’s house is the perfect launching point for your Duck vacation!

Memorial Day Stay
Excellent property which very useable and comfortable. It was pretty well stocked with pans, dishes, essential spices, plastic wrap etc.! The house was especially nice inside with exception of the ice maker being rusted and not useable and one of the fabric chairs needing a deep clean. Also the sheets had to be rewashed as they had a slight odor to them. Outside the house needed a power-washing. Also almost all of the outdoor furniture on the deck was very rusted as well as the beach chairs under the deck. The outdoor shower was very nice and even smelled great! The beach cart with big beach tires was a definite plus! The location was fabulous and a quick but nice walk to the beach. Good value.

Perfect
This was our second time staying at Kim's home for our "sister" vacation. This home is perfect for us, so very welcoming and clean. The location is in a quiet neighborhood with just a very short walk from the beach. We appreciate Kim and her husband providing such a wonderful place for us to have a vacation. This beach vacation house was absolutely perfect for our family of 5! It was pretty much exactly as pictured. Super clean too! The location was absolutely perfect and so easy to get to the beach. Communication with the owners was so easy too. The kitchen had everything you could need to make meals. To sum up our opinion of this rental in three words is easy: we loved it!

It was just our family and the kids each took a friend, so we didn’t need a big house. This sweet house was perfect for us. The accommodations were just great and I would recommend!! The only downside to Duck is the darn traffic!! Private beaches are fantastic!!!

Quaint beach home in Duck with sound view
The "Mack Daddy" was clean, comfortable and had that quaint, beachy vibe. It is on a quiet, private road with an easy walk to the beach. It had everything we needed for making wonderful family memories. Love that all the room are on the same floor. Kim was prompt with answering questions. Check in and out instructions were clear and easy. Love the extra touch of a bottle of wine :)

We had such a nice time at Kim's place- she was very responsive to our questions, and the buggy + beach toys were super useful when making the 5-minute walk back and forth to the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

First Beach Visit
My 1.5yo daughter, husband, mother and myself stayed for 4 nights and loved it! The host was very accommodating with providing a high chair and pack n play. The house was kid friendly with a lovely deck. The beach was just a short stroll away and it was beautiful and not too crowded being a private access beach. The house is located between Duck and Corolla which was nice as well. Traffic can be difficult in Duck so be prepared with extra time for travel. Also businesses close 9:00pm or earlier due to short staffing but with the deck at the house we didn’t need to go anywhere else! Our daughter had a great first beach experience!

We had a lovely stay at this rental and looking forward to visiting again next year! Thanks for the quick get away
My family came for a much needed three night stay and could not be happier. Communication with Kim was easy. She is very accommodating and allowed us to leave our car parked at the house while we went down to the beach after checkout (there is no public parking nearby), as long as we moved before the next party was scheduled to check-in. The property was exactly as described in the listing. It is easily walkable to the beach, which is uncrowded. We would definitely stay again.

Great long weekend in Duck for a wedding at Sanderling. Location was perfect to get to the wedding. House was exactly as described, short walk to the beach so we got a beach walk in every day. Lots of rain but didn't dampen our fun! We really appreciated Kim reaching out to offer an extra night! Would definitely rent again!
