We had an easy welcome and excellent instructions for an overall smooth check in. Once we came in, the view was instantly spectacular! Graced with some wonderful artwork, it felt more like a chic modern museum with some wonderful pieces and definitely good dinner conversation. High tide sunset was brilliant and a cup of tea on the chairs outside was a perfect finish to the evening and start to the morning. The bath was a beautiful feature with amazing views to create a truly relaxing ambience. The tvs and great music selection made dinner a wonderful night each night. We had a wonderful weekend. Doug, Thank you!

This house is outstanding. Doug the owner is a great communicator and helped us as we also had a Yacht to think about Berthing.
The house is full of interesting art and Doug has a really great music collection which we loved. Breakfast on the deck and drinks in the evening was just wonderful. The house has everything for everyone. We enjoyed kayaking and the pool is beautiful.
Thanks for sharing this little slice of paradise Doug highly recommended.

We are local to northern beaches so chose a staycation. We loved the property and location! Felt like we were in a holiday setting. Very tranquil and we were lucky to have great weather. Sitting on the deck by the pool looking over Pittwater was so lovely. Kids of course loved the lift! The ensuites in all rooms were large and spacious. The wifi wasn’t great but that was to be expected in that little pocket area. We didn’t go on our phones hardly anyway. Thanks so much Doug!

Great house with a wonderful view. The kids loved the pool and the beach access was great for our dog who’s a crazy swimmer!

My daughter, my little dog and I had five luxurious days at Doug’s wonderful home. An amazing location - my dog Rosie loved a run out the front at low tide and a swim when the tide was full! Doug’s home is well equipped, extremely clean and perfectly positioned - thanks for a great stay!

Doug’s home was exactly what our family was looking for. The bedrooms are all spacious and ensuites and view of the water and the pool were a perfect combo for the beautiful sunny days we had while there.
I’ll be sure to have Doug’s home at the top of our list when looking for a place up on the Northern Beaches again.

This property is an absolute waterfront located on Pittwater, complete with a beautiful swimming pool. It is perfect for entertaining a group as it has all the space you need with phenomenal views at ground level and from each of the bedrooms upstairs.
The property appears to be 4 storeys (including a rooftop) but only the Ground floor and First floor were accessible. The levels above were blocked off.
The property is only accessible via lift from the garage at street level, so there is no other way to come and go. I am very claustrophobic, so this wasn’t ideal for me but once I got used to it, it was totally fine.
The host Doug is very helpful and informative and was very responsive when I had questions throughout the stay. Would definitely recommend.

The house is very spacious and the out look is beautiful. We had a good time despite the weather. The kitchen, lounge, bedrooms and bathrooms were all spacious and as per the photos. But a few things were a surprise. It's a 5 * property but a few things dragged it down to be 4*. The only access is via a small, 2-3 person lift which we found out with check-in instructions, (the top floor of the house is not part of the rental), so the stairs are blocked off on the second floor. Not normally a problem unless you have someone who is claustrophobic (which we did). He had to access the house via the water which was not too bad at low tide but a bit wet at high tide! Also worth knowing the small lift would also be the only emergency exit - if you needed a stretcher you'd have to go via the water (unlikely but worth knowing if you have medical conditions). The upper deck by the garage (which had spectacular views) had not been cleaned in a long time so the artificial grass was dirty, drain clogged, rag lying around on the floor and it had a deflated rubber ducky boat on it so not at all conducive to a sundowner up there. Lastly there were small details needing attention like mirky dishwasher damaged glasses and a total of 1 beer glass and 2 champagne glasses and an assortment of wine glasses- call me snob but I think for the price there should be a set of wine, beer and champagne glasses for 6. I'm not the first to comment on lack of champagne glasses. Over all its a beautiful property but definitely an eclectic lived in home rather than a spotless rental. We were ok with that but worth knowing if you are a cleanliness freak. Having read the commentary before me I can see that any negative comments get a curt and defensive response from the owner so I will await my fate! Doug, remember feedback is a gift ! :)

This was a memorable getaway.
We would wake up to the sound of water ripples and singing birds! The view was pituresque and the stay was comfortable.
We did a lot of yabbie pumping at low tide and fishing at high tide. The kids enjoyed the outdoors as did our dog.
The place was spacious, comfortable and well planned out.
The area was gorgeous and we explored nearby parks, beaches and restaurants too.
I highly reccomend this place if you need to unwind and reconnect with eachother and nature.

Unfortunately our experience was terrible from the start
Dough the owner who lives here full time was very rude and strange from the start of our communication by request we cancel our stay due to our ages being 30 -34.
After letting him know we don’t drink or smoke he was comfortable with letting us stay.
We where disappointed with the lack of towels we where 5 Adults and where given 3 towels.
The reception was terrible, we could not connect to Doug’s wifi.
We wanted to enjoy the pool and turn on the spa, but noticed during the day the pool was not cleaned or maintained for a while almost looking brown clear comparison to the neighbours well kept we pool ( balcony view).
Yes this place is quiet and peaceful with much art to admire, quickly let down with old leather sofa that need to be replaced and the beds are too small.
Dough requested us to leave his bins out for the next day as we where leave at 10am sharp! We where declined a 12 late check out! I never had a horrible stay.
The day came to check out and we had left our wallets in his property with clothing after rushing to get out by 10am sharp.
Dough was reluctant in handing over our personal property and wanted to hold them in his possession only because he found a few cigarettes butts and his bins out the front full of beer and assumed we had a party of five !
We need that second wallet Doug! Not happy with you allegations and will never stay here I would not recommend you stay here unless you want to be accused of having party after having a few drinks with your friends who all paid 3K to get away and create memories.
Never host a home if your going to be emotionally attached !

Perfect Getaway
This is a fabulous home in a stunning location. The views from the master bedroom are amazing, & all 3 bedrooms have their own ensuite making a perfect getaway for a family or 3 couples. The ground floor living area leading out to the pool & waterfront area is fabulous, unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to truly enjoy the property.

Not what it seems
Location is beautiful and the property could be also except:
1. The first impression is the heavy smell of mould, especially when you open kitchen cabinets and wardrobes. This could be easily fixed with good cleaning between bookings and damp Rid buckets placed inside cabinets and wardrobes. Each bucket is $10, so not super expensive. A mobile dehumidifier could also be added especially since the property is charging hefty nightly rates. A good dehumidifier/air purifier costs approx. $1000 and would be a great investment for this property.
2. The 3 bedrooms available all had double beds, which are not adequate in size for two adults to sleep in. My wife and I had to sleep in separate beds and my 12 year old and 16 year old cramped into one bed. Again, easily solved by replacing just one bed with a Queen or King size so that couples could comfortably sleep together. Mattresses were also extremely uncomfortable and should definitely be replaced as they have seen better days. Bedrooms were extremely dusty probably coming from the quilt and quilt covers.
3. Kitchen cupboards and drawers were sticky and dirty inside. Cutlery and glasses were sticky and smelt of mould. The drawer that housed the toaster was disgusting, and the toaster was filthy. There were burnt bread crumbs throughout the drawer and inside the toaster. Oven cooking trays were sticky and greasy.
4. This house is obviously lived in by the owner, which is fine, but, the main bathroom cabinets and drawers were full of personal items with no room for our toiletries. We had to use the other bathroom instead. The supplied hairdryer was old and sticky. Luckily we brought our own.
5. Personal items in kitchen pantry and bathrooms were covered with sheets. A better and neater solution would be lockable inner cabinets or sections of cabinets for personal items.
