The sound of the waves at night.
Very basic and not so clean hotel. Minimalistic breakfast. But the real problem is Janela: the city is depressing, and almost feels hostile. The hike which starts from behind the hotel is not safe: some guy followed us and went for a knife in a house, it’s a chance he was not very discreet, so we just ran way lol …so if you wanna try this path, make sure you book a guide…or Lara Croft.

The room had a balcony towards the sea - absolutely georgious atmosphere, very quiet and cool during the night.

Living between the mountainous has been a unique experience.
The sound of the sea accompanies you during day and nights.
I loved every single moment.
And the girls at the restaurant, who became my friends, have been an important part of my journey.
Thank you Carla, Jennifer, Daniela, Claudia, Ineides.

Simple room with amazing sea view. The breakfasts was huge and tasty. Super fast wi-fi.
No hot shower, not clear where to ask for key and pay especially for someone that doesn't speak French or Portuguese.

Room is spacious and clean enough. Location is remote but at seafront. Food is not great but cheap
No hot water, bed linen was loose and not adapted, no mirror.... staff was not pleasant or helpful and could not speak a single word of anything except local language ( and did not try for that matter) - I speak 4 languages and did my best to communicate but was the only one to be willing

Very nice place, you can stay there for the last night before catching the ferry to go back to Mindelo. In front of your room, you have the ocean and youcan hear waves! There are nice places to visit there such as going to light house, visit two cities nearby (you can go there by walk!). The dinner you can eat there and it is very good and with good price! Staff there is helpful, they can organise you bus to catch a ferry with standard price (250CV) and you will get breakfast in the morning :)
