About this house rental

The Ledge @ Peterborough is a modern four bedroom home which caters comfortably for up to 8 people with everything you need for a restful holiday. Peterborough is one of the best kept secrets along the Great Ocean Road and is a tranquil and unspoilt coastal town. "The Ledge" is approximately 120 metres from Wild Dog Cove which is a protected bay perfect for exploring, swimming, diving (either snorkel or tanks) and has an abundance of fish and shell fish. Accomodation comprises four bedrooms, master with king size bed, two queen size rooms and the fourth has two single beds. All rooms have built in robes. The generous family bathroom is modern with huge walk in shower and a relaxing bath. The front of the house is warmed and cooled with a reverse cycle air conditioner. At the back of the house is the large north facing open plan family living area. The lounge has ample seating and a wood fire heater and opens via three panel slide aside glass doors onto the deck with views across farmland to the Curdies River. The deck is a lovely sunny place to relax and watch the children play on their own fort and slide. There is also a BBQ for your enjoyment. The modern kitchen has a central island bench and breakfast bar together with double sink, dishwasher and 5 burner gas cooktop and large electric oven. The kitchen overlooks the dining area with an eight seater dining table. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer and separate toilet. Outside, the property is fully enclosed which means the children are safe, there is an outside shower for after beach swims and off street parking for your boat. We DO NOT accept pets at The Ledge. Peterborough has a fabulous cliff top walk which winds its way west towards the Bay of Martyrs. There is a seaside 9 hole golf course, local tennis courts and playground with BBQ facilities all within walking distance. This part of the world is a fishermans paradise where you can fish the Curdies River or Lake system by boat or land for bream and mulloway. Launch your sea vessel at the amazing steep boat ramp and head out to the deep for snapper and tuna. Or fish the surf for whiting, flathead and salmon. The iconic 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, Gibson Steps and other attractions are a short 20 minute drive along the Great Ocean Road. Once you have visited these don't forget to take in the 12 Apostles Gourmet Trail which features G.O.R.G.E Chocolates, Apostle Whey Cheese, Timboon Fine Ice Cream and the delicious meals at Timboon Railway Shed Distillery to mention but a few. Port Campbell is a 7 minute drive along the GOR and has many restaurants and eateries to visit. The regional centre of Warrnambool is a 35 minute drive west where you can visit the fantastic playground of Lake Pertobe, Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village home of the Loch Ard Peacock or take a stroll through the streets to shop for something special.

Deb's place is brand new, with all the finishes you'd expect from a luxury rental. The kitchen sparkles and the living room furniture is stylish yet comfortable. The house has four bedrooms, but only one bathroom which is a little odd. That makes it a terrific getaway for a couple or even a small family. But I suspect that the one bathroom might be an issue for groups of six or more. (Curiously, the toilet is in its own room, on the opposite side of the house from the sink, delightfully large shower, and even more delightfully large tub). Also, the air conditioning unit is in the hallway, so on a hot night, everyone would need to leave their bedroom doors open to stay cool. But if your group is content to live with these small flaws, you won't find a nicer place to stay anywhere in Peterborough or Port Campbell.

We were a party of 5 adults. The home is spacious, clean and easy to navigate. Separate toilet room next to laundry sink was fine for 5 adults. Really a very good and affordable place. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for those traveling the Great ocean Road. Very close to London Bridge. Communication was mixed. I booked months in advance for 4 adults and received automated acceptance. The personal message I sent weeks in advance was not acknowledged until check in instructions arrived 3 days before check in. By check in, our party had grown to 5 adults but I did not communicate this (my fault) and there were only 2 beds made up and no sheets/ pillow cases for additional bedrooms / beds available. Deb did go above and beyond to drive over an hour to set up the additional linens. We certainly appreciated that effort. Maybe in the future, consider having sheets and pillow cases available in bedroom closets. One other note is that if you are staying during a hot night, the A/c unit is located in the hallway for all four bedrooms . So, you need to either keep your bedroom door open, or open windows. There was a portable fan in each bedroom which was a nice amenity.

We had a wonderful stay in such a beautiful part of the world. The home is beautiful with lots of attention to detail and style. I particularly love the linen and the shower and bath. Our kids really enjoyed the backyard , the play area is great for little ones and the coastline nearby is totally sublime. Thanks to Deb for the really helpful and prompt communications.
