I spent two wonderful months on Beech Mtn. Unforgetable Dreams cabin was comfy and cozy. The cabin is very old and the furnishings are showing wear and tear, but the linens/blankets and towels were clean and fresh. The kitchen had lots of pots/pans,cooking appliances and utensils. Instant hot water was very nice. I mentioned to the owner that the downstairs tub/faucet leaks. The asphalt driveway is very steep and slippery after it rains. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended if you want to make use of the very convenient covered car port under the cabin. There are also wooden steps for walking up to the cabin. A couple of nights it got down to the low 40s and I couldn't get the heaters to work. I later discovered that the breakers were off. Overall, I had a really wonderful stay at Unforgetable Dreams.

Will never rent this place again. Let’s start with the owner’s poor communication not even able to give me right information. The check in/out time that are wrong. It had rained all day and when we got there the mountain was covered in fog and it took use 30 minutes to get there, at 7 pm in a rainy night with really poor signal, I was locked out because the owner had not even sent me the key code to get in, so I had to drive back down to get service to reach out to him. The steps to the condo are so steep and poorly lit my son fell down, some steps don’t even have anti slip strips. The cabinets are falling apart everywhere. Lack of basic cooking utensils, cookware is peeling and unsafe w to use especially when you have Teflon. The rug in the dining is a trip hazard, I had to put chairs around it to keep it down as it was rolling and we kept tripping. The tile in the entry way is lose, careful not to cut your feet if you’re barefoot. The beds are so hard, sleeping on the floor would be about the same, we left with horrible body aches after just 2 nights. Careful with the water temperature it is set to hot and one of us ended up with a burn from just opening the shower.
If you have not read enough to run away, I told the owner of all these for him react in the most unapologetic way and did not have a care in the world. Do yourselves a favor and find another place to stay to enjoy your time there.

This cabin was a perfect fit for a family getaway. There were 5 of us staying here and there was plenty of room for all of us. It was very nice to be able to relax in front of the fireplace and enjoy each other's company

It was a perfect place for family! Everything was clean and operational. So much in the area to do but we enjoyed relaxing there also!

Nice cabin
The cabin was nice and had everything we needed. There was an issue with the washer leaking from upstairs through the kitchen ceiling. The light in the kitchen was filled with water as well. We thought we were so lucky that it snowed the night we got there until we realized our road didnt get plowed in the morning. (Apparently the only road that didnt get plowed). We lost a little over half the day do to that. My suggestion is for the owner to supply a flat shovel for vacationers to be able to shovel the snow from the stairs as the snow shovel didnt do the job. Other than the few issues we had that were in no way in the owners control, we did enjoy staying there and had a good.

Family Vacation
Property was as described. Outside of cabin (yard/driveway/trash bins area) could definitely have been cleaner, lots of trash. The beds were comfortable & inside of cabin was clean. We had a great time. Super close to Beech Mtn resort was a huge plus for us.

disappointing and poor cabin conditions
1) Cabin only ready at 5:17 pm instead of 4 pm..we needed to wait outside in freezing cold.
2) Glass door sliding rail damaged leaving door opened about 12 inches. Extremely cold with children. We had to fix it temporarily until handy man showed up the day after.
3) door handle damaged. Very difficult to open and close door.
4) glass door couldn't be locked with the key from outside. Personal belongings at risk if nobody at the cabin
5) only burning water from upstairs bathroom and kitchen faucet. Discrepancy was only fixed following day in the kitchen faucet. People sleeping upstairs had to brush their teeth, wash their faces and hands in the bathtub
6) back of rocking chair in downstairs room falling apart. I almost went through when I sat on it
7) towel bar downstairs bathroom terribly installed. Towels could not be hanged on it. Bar would fall
8) kitchen sink faucet very loose. It is not tightened. Issues to use it properly and safely.
9) broken glasses found under heater unit in dining room
10) no garbage bags available until the last day for the kitchen trash can and bathrooms.. We had to use several tiny bags from the supermarket and bringing them down garbage container on the street multiple times by the very slippery ramp
11) dirty socks found in the property from previous renter.
12) dirty bath mats
13) not enough towels
14) some dishes and glasses dirty and chipped (dangerous) in cabinets
Too many instructions from the owner to the renter when leaving property beyond standards practices, but many irregularities and issues with defect and malfunctioning in the property. We emailed these serious discrepancies to the owner after we left, expecting some partial refund. He never responded. Perhaps he doesn't care about bad reviews or doesn't mind BRBO losing clients. I have pictures of discrepancies.

Great location
Perfect spot for skiing at Beech mountain. It met our needs perfectly. Love that it is pet friendly . Front sliding glass door needs some work, super hard to get in and out, but other than that, the cabin was great.

Fun family trip
We enjoyed our stay, but the cabin could use a little TLC. Front door is VERY hard to open and close and I smashed my finger trying to shut it!. Also some trash in the front yard that could have been picked up. But overall still a nice little cabin and reasonable price.

Mildew musty
Front door very difficult to open and lock. It appears track on bottom rotted out.
Mildew smell not covered by air fresheners allergy’s went wild.
Toilet ring finish gone..gross.
3 water stains on ceiling.
No screen on slider.
Multiple screens with holes.
Windows not washed in years.
Threshold crusty dirty.
Deck not swept this year.
Light bulbs out...many.
Dead trees surround.
Yard 2 foot weeds.
Blanket on floor in closet.
Could be decent with modest work.
Actually has two baths. Advertised as one.

Beech Mountain Chalet
House is large. Didn’t use the upstairs other than the bathroom. Deer come on the property daily and are not afraid of you. Place had everything you need but the drive and steps are steep and not for everyone. The front door is heavy and not for the weak. Overall a nice stay and a nice place to get away

Nice location and a classic seventies Alpine Kit home, it just needs some serious TLC...
We enjoyed our stay --for the most part, as we came to get outdoors and hike mainly-- and our stay in the residence only after we took some time (a good three hours) to personally clean the home. On the good side, the linens were provided by a service and they were fine. However, the home was obviously not cleaned or inspected at all prior to it being advertised as a rental property; for example: 1) there were many spider webs (I left a grand example in the dining room along one timber that was like an art project for whoever wants to see one), 2) there was lots of thick dust under the wooden furniture and along all the walls, 3) we found debris in the bottom of all of the cabinets, 4) there was lots of trash in the front yard where animals had obviously removed all items from the trash cans for some time (I picked it all up and discarded it), 5) there are lots of scrap boards, empty paint cans, construction items and empty cups in the single-bay parking space under the residence that we had to move prior to parking our car, 6) There was broken glass along the wall and on the baseboard heater in the dining room, 7) I could go on about cleanliness... etc., etc. In addition to the lack of cleanliness, there were issues of non-usability or items broken: A) there was no power in the bedroom behind the 1st floor bath (checked the breaker, turned it on and off to no avail), B) the closet with the vacuum and the brooms had a broken door knob (it comes off in your hand when you attempt to turn it), C) the 1st floor faux drawer front was not attached to the base cabinet but was simply lying in the floor of the bath when we arrived, D) the upstairs bi-fold doors were not attached to their track but where lying in the short hall to the 2nd floor bath, E) the toaster would not hold bread in the down position and therefore would not toast the bread, F) the main entry sliding door rollers have obviously failed as it was very, very difficult to open or close, G) many screens were in very poor condition, H) many light fixtures did not have bulbs or were broken, etc., etc. I hope someone reads this and gets the management company or owner to do a bit of repair and cleaning work before renting this home again.
