About this house rental

Comfortable, funky, fun living quarters in a private, quiet bush setting.. Clever use of corrugated iron, te-tree, rope etc. Enjoy our bush hut/fisherman retreat theme with a great collection of memorabilia from the 'old days'. Something to amuse everyone. Brilliant under cover fish cleaning facilities and smokers. NEW Indoor pizza oven area and bar. This has been a real hit with our regulars.

Make use of our deck out the front of the property accessible for all to use. This overlooks Coromandel township, harbour and beyond with some of the most stunning views and sunsets.

The native timber bar with swivel stools is a favourite for many of our visitors. Cook your BBQ undercover, rain or sun and enjoy the peace and quiet. Make use of the covered fish cleaning facilities. There is lots of safe car and boat parking.

You are only minutes from town here but feel like you could be sitting on top of the world.

Kids will enjoy the rope climb, sand pit, flying fox, see-saw , swing and playground. Take a walk down to the big creek and explore.

Been here before and love it. Good facilities and well located with plenty of parking and facilities that make it easy after a days fishing to kick back with your mates over a beer or two. Then walk into town for a great meal at one of the pubs

What a great place to stay. It has real homely rustic feel that we all thought was great. The memorabilia from the areas past really just set off the great stay we had. I also appreciate the help Rob gave when my boat played up. Thanks guys for the great stay. We'll be back

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Top of the Hill. The bach was quirky, tidy, had everything we needed (and more). Our hosts were great to deal with, friendly and welcoming and they even gave us fresh fish and mussels. We're considering this for our annual wedding anniversary weekend away!

We loved staying at Top of tbe Hill for our winter family gathering. Very friendly relaxed hosts. Lots of zones for various hang outs, in all weather. Generous fridge/freezer space x2 on site. Everything thought through from fish cleaning/smoking. pizza fire, BBQing, and inside or outside bar. We would definitely go back.

Such an awesome property. Perfect for our long weekend stay. We were there for a family birthday party at Hauraki House so it was the perfect location. The weather was very wet but the pool table took care of indoor entertainment and lots of fun and laughs were had! Awesome hosts who just waved as they drove by but looked after us with some delicious mussels. Thank you so much for having us. We'll be back!!

This place is amazing, even better than the pictures. Heaps of entertainment. I loved all the cool items hanging up on the wall. Unfortunately its a long walk to town but its so worth it! Amazing views, clean, very child friendly.

We loved our stay here! The playground was awesome for the kids to burn some energy and they loved being able to run around and use the flying fox (zipline). The hosts were wonderful, we chatted with them a few times and the kids enjoyed playing with their puppy (the dog was a huge hit!). The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed being able to bbq and eat outside at the picnic tables. It's just a few minutes to drive into Coromandel Town, and it's a short distance to activities like Driving Creek Railway so the home is well positioned. There's lots to do inside as well - we all enjoyed being able to play pool and there were books and games provided as well. The kitchen was on the smaller side but we didn't have any issues with this. Upstairs there's a big open area with a few beds and the living room space; there's also three rooms branching off of this floor, so there's lots of room for a family to spread out. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed it so much we tried to stay for a 3rd but unfortunately it was already booked up - we'd definitely stay here again!

Had a wonderful Easter break here with the family - the zip line and bush walk was brilliant as well as the fantastic pizzas we made with the pizza oven. They organised an Easter egg hunt for the boys which was so kind and fun! And also gave us mussels and fresh fish which was really generous. Would definitely recommend.

We had a long drive and arrived so late and had to check out before 10 am in the morning. So, we did not have a chance to use all of the facilities. The decoration, available games and other facilities (i.e. pizza room, pool table, outdoor playground etc.) were great.

This place was absolutely perfect. The playground and flying fox were bit hits with the kids and there was heaps of space for them to race around. It's nowhere near busy roads which makes it nice and safe for children and super quiet at night. The hosts were excellent and very accommodating of the challenges of booking around lockdowns.

We are a family of 5 adults and I chose this bach because it had boats for hire but in the end we booked a charter due to not knowing where to fish! The bach is quirky and interesting, it has everything you need. We used the pizza oven and now we all want one! We took 2 little dogs who loved it also but it's not suitable for dogs who would love to get lost in the bush. At times cars came down the drive too fast as well. Another suggestion would be a welcome pack and wifi. On the whole we really enjoyed our 5 night stay and the hosts were very friendly. A great place to bring kids.
