About this house rental
Welcome to The Woodridge Retreat! A spacious, pet-free family home...residing on over an acre of wooded land...in a peaceful, friendly community on Woodridge Lake.
The house has an inviting, open floor plan, and is both elegant and cozy. It can accommodate up to eight people. The master bedroom and bath are on the main floor. There are two bedrooms upstairs, and a loft/common area with a comfortable queen sofa bed, if needed. I have a two-night minimum stay requirement.
The screened porch and adjoining deck are wonderful for relaxing and dining during the warmer months. During autumn, leaf-peepers can enjoy the spectacular leaves and covered bridges, as well as a fire pit on the patio. In the winter, you may enjoy the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace, and when the snow begins to fall, skiers are just minutes away from Mohawk Ski Area!
There is a two-week minimum stay between Memorial Day (end of May) and Indigenous Peoples' Day (mid-October). If you rent for two weeks, or more, you will have access to the lake and its amenities...less than a ten-minute walk...and a two-minute drive or bike ride! As a temporary member, you must register with the office, pay parking and associated fees, and follow the rules and regulations of the WLPOA.
Amenities for renters who stay two weeks, or more, include a beautiful lakefront clubhouse, marina, four beaches, eight tennis courts (4 clay and 4 hard courts), a pool, gym, basketball court, and playground. You will also have access to my two kayaks (paddles and PFDs), at your own risk.
Note: Renters who stay for less than two weeks in the summer may want to visit beaches in the area with public access for a fee. Please ask for more details.
Woodridge Lake offers a vibrant, year-round social calendar, for renters staying at least two weeks. In the winter months, there is skating and ice fishing on the lake. There might be workshops in printmaking, drawing, and stained glass for adults...and fossil casting for children. There may be a concert in the clubhouse, as well as, Trivia Night, and an Ugly Sweater Party! The Woodridge Lake community is filled with warm and friendly people.
In the summertime, there could be a Cardboard Box Boat Race during the day, and a Hawaiian Luau Party at night. Children can join the summer camp, be on the swim team, and take tennis lessons. Activities may include yoga, pilates, aqua exercises, birding, and biking. You can picnic and play corn hole or volleyball. There's a band playing every week and weekend, throughout the summer. You can dance on the beach under the moonlight!
There are two bikes (with helmets) and a set of golf clubs in the basement, available to all renters, at your own risk. There are plenty of board and lawn games, books, and music for both children and adults to enjoy. There is a gas barbecue with tools, and beach equipment for the beach (chairs, umbrella, totes, picnic supplies, toys, floats, towels, cooler, etc).
Litchfield County resides in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, world-renowned for their natural beauty. You will appreciate having a car for plenty of scenic drives through this rural and quaint, small-town area. The Village Market & Gas is close by, but if you should need some major shopping (Stop and Shop, Target, CVS, etc.), you will find it all in Torrington, less than ten miles away. The towns of Litchfield and Bantam are around six or seven miles away, and are also great places to shop.
Throughout the area, you will find great restaurants, live theatre and music, ballet, movie houses, antique stores, and unique shops. Just a few miles away, there is a ski area, golf course, and race track, as well as, great hiking, birding, river rafting, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, and covered bridges.
NOTES:
- Please respect that I host a smoke- and pet-free home. Smoking is permitted on the screened porch, deck, and front stoop, only.
- You must have permission...and there will be surcharges...for an early arrival, delayed departure, and extra guests beyond my maximum capacity of eight people.
- No access to the lake or its amenities, unless your stay is for two, or more, weeks.
- Guests may be charged an extra cleaning fee for mishaps, and unusual circumstances, including failing to turn off utilities (AC and/or heat) upon leaving, which may require a house check.
- Unfortunately, it is not possible (nor allowed) to charge your electric vehicle(s) at this time.
- No cancellation policy after March 31st for reservations made beginning Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend. There is a two-week minimum stay requirement during this peak season.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hosting you at The Woodridge Retreat! :)

This was our 3rd time staying at Krysia's home. And as previously, it was a pleasure. The house is so comfortable and clean and well-stocked. Close to the lake and clubhouse. Close to the dairy farm. Not far from town. An ideal place to spend some time during the summer months. The area is peaceful and safe. Our kids enjoyed going on bike rides and going to the clubhouse on their own. I'm sure we'll be back.

I can't say enough great things about this rental. The house was clean and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, pots and pans, dishes and utensils. It had everything you needed to cook a nice meal. The screened in porch is huge and it's lovely to sit and have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The neighborhood is walkable and safe. Krysia, the owner was very quick to respond with any questions we had.

Lovely Litchfield County in May
My family enjoyed the property, the deck, screened porch, big kitchen, open plan living area, game rooms for the kids. We had the rest of the family who were staying in another house in Colebrook over for pizza one night and felt very comfortable, easy to spread out

What a great weekend! 4 adults & 4 teenagers with plenty of room to spare! This home has everything you might need. Fireplace was great. Living room was cozy and fun for games. Foosball in the basement was a big hit. Mohawk Mountain is maybe 10 minutes away which was perfect for our skiing adventure. One of the best places we have stayed
Lovely house in the middle of the woods. One of the best equipped places we ever stayed. The host left us flowers, candy and cookies and a very sweet note. The weather was gloomy but we were happy inside

Spectacular
This home was lovely, squeaky clean, comfortable, well stocked, peaceful and quiet. The owner’s communications with us were helpful and clear. The beds were comfortable with nice linens & towels. There were several common areas to use plus, TVs, and games. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy wine in the porch. The hostess provided too many thoughtful things to mention but trust me, you will feel pampered!

Great place for an extended stay!
For those looking to escape the urban hustle and bustle, look no further. This is our second time staying here and for good reason. The house is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near Litchfield and Bantam. Even Kent is an easy drive to. Krysia, the hostess, keeps the house stocked with the basic condiments, herbs, spices and other kitchen essentials - no need to go shopping for these basics upon arrival! This house is just a few short minutes away from the lake and club house offering swimming, tennis and kayaking (kayaks provided by Krysia). The rear deck and screened porch is perfect for grilling and/or relaxing. All in all, an appealing and easy place to stay. Looking forward to our next stay there. -Peter, NYC.

Wonderful Stay!
My family and I had the good fortune to be able to stay at this property twice now and each time we've had the most wonderful and relaxing trip. The home is beautifully appointed, from the single slab dining table to the bar stocked with every type of glass you would need. We've enjoyed cocktail hours in the screened in porch to post-dinner family walks meeting all the friendly neighbors, this truly is a relaxing oasis! Krysia is always extremely responsive and an ideal hostess, I would not hesitate to recommend this home and the area to anyone!

We loved the house but spent each day in the mountains- hiking. The location was perfect for our adventure plans. We walked in Bantam at the White Memorial Boardwalk and enjoyed ice cream at Arethusa Farms. We hiked up Mohawk Mountain and enjoyed our lunches at the fire tower overlook. Another day was spent hiking up to the Appalachian Trail via the Pine Knob Loop, enjoying waterfalls and sunshine. The house was a wonderful place to relax and reconnect as friends. We would highly recommend it.

Excellent Stay
An excellent stay over the Easter weekend. The house has everything anyone could ever need to host friends or family. Make sure to confirm any amenities as the fireplace and grill are seasonal, but the home is an amazing place to spend time in northwestern Connecticut. Great communication and a very short drive to so many different interesting activities. We travelled with a four month old and our au pair it was very child friendly. We will be back.

We had the most amazing experience! We were looking to get out of the city and relax and we did exactly that. The home was so clean and beautiful and had everything that we could have possibly needed. Communicating with Krysia was so easy as she was very responsive and answered any question that I had, and provided detailed instructions about the home. There was plenty of room and sitting by the fireplace was so cozy. We feel so grateful to have stayed here and would love to come back!

Just perfect
The house was perfect for my three daughters and I for our annual mother-daughter getaway weekend. It is close to Litchfield, Bantam, and Washington, all cute towns with good restaurants and shops. It's very near one of the best chocolate making farms we have ever visited. The house is very well equipped, nicely appointed, comfortable. We couldn't have been more pleased with it.

Nice getaway .
The house was immaculate and comfortable. The kitchen had every possible High quality utensil and gadget. Beautiful screened in porch. Kysia was very responsive when there were minor issues. Picked the best two weeks . Leaves were at peak of changing colors. Since I rented two weeks I had access to tennis courts and took lessons from pro, yoga and potential kayak - but got too cold. Great biking in community and nearby. Even borrowed a Good conditioned bike from the House when my adult children visited. All in all a good experience.
