Loved the location and friendly people of Long Island Village.
10.0 / 10.0
We loved the views and being on the water. Wished we had our fishing poles as fish were jumping and pelicans diving into the water. The place was a little out dated and no water pressure in the bathroom at all. It was cheap and would stay again as the view was worth the stay.
6.0 / 10.0
Stayed for 21 days. Positives: back decking directly on the small waterway & marshland views; Long Island Village is a friendly community with nice amenities; home is priced lower than most..Not so positive: older home in need of some upkeep; smells musty/moldy; generally clean, but rusty/rough around the edges.

loved the location on water with an open view. The house condition is less than shown in the pics. I would not rent this one again.
4.0 / 10.0
Very run down, drawers don't open cupboards are stuck. Stove is not level hard to cook. Most faucets are backwards. Shower and toilet worn and look dirty.
3.0 / 10.0
The location of the house was very convenient but I wouldn’t stay there again it was over price. You get charge $98 more at the Location. They charge a cleaning fee and they don’t even clean correctly there was a bag of dead fish left in the patio. Had to clean it ourselves. The restroom was very Dusty. There was roaches around the place. It needs a new mattress for the bed.

The view, scenery was great. Inside first appearance is nice but roaches start coming out at night and the bathroom needed to be cleaned correctly. There was clipped hair in the shower, like someone had shaved. Probably would not come back to this property.

Great view off the back deck of SpaceX! Fished from the back deck. Port Isabel is wonderful.

Beautiful waterfront, staff was accommodating to my issues
4.0 / 10.0
The house was clean and stocked with basic necessities upon arrival. The deck was everyone's favorite, just sitting under the sun, in front of the water, watching birds and fish just jumping in the water, was like heaven. It was even more serene at night, sipping wine and listening to music on the deck. The one thing that was a little upsetting was the fact of having to to kill roaches from the time we turned on the stove. Vacasa was notified and they did get someone on it within an hour of my notification but the guy said he needed information from the owner and never got back to me. That was the only thing that could have ruined the trip but didn't. We went to the store and bought Raid so it was fine. The location is directly across the bridge from South Padre Island, and the grocery stores are less than 10 minutes away. The office staff were nice and friendly, though the $90 HOA/ parking fee was not. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone to get a piece of mind. And I would definitely go back at another point in time.

I always love my stay at Long Island, but this time I was a little just a little disappointed. The shower door would not close and they said they would come fix it that day and call before they cam. That wasn’t the case they came the following day with out a call. And the knob on the shower handle was broken and we had to use the metal stem to turn on and the did the shower. Other that those things I loved my stay and will stay again.

Our stay was amazing and excited to visit next year as well.
4.0 / 10.0
Nice community with activities. Large deck right on the water. Good location. Cleaning crew needs to focus on cleaning from wall to wall, not just beds and counter tops. I swept the floor and there was dirt and dust that had clearly been there a very long time.

Nice quiet home that accommodated our military family as we celebrated our sons birthday. Opening the back door and sitting in the deck was extremely peaceful.

This was such a cute little home with such a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing view of the waterfront. The amenities were awesome! The community pool there is nice and goes up to 9 ft. They had a hot tub and an indoor pool. There are other activities you can do there as well. HEB and Walmart are like 4 mins from the place and is located right before the bridge to go over to South Padre Island. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the bathroom. It was quite small and the nozzle to the shower was broken, which made it difficult to set the water to hot. That was actually quite frustrating because I don't like cool showers. Parking pass fee is $90. Overall...I'd stay here again, no question! Just hope they get that shower nozzle fixed. I've already referred my dad there because he likes to fish, and they have and area a couple steps below the deck to fish, clean them and scale them.

Remember Parking is Not Included
I will start with positives. I loved the location overall. The people on the holiday park were all openly friendly. I do wish there were place to eat and or drink, that were within a reasonable walking distance. For meals out we were forced to drive.
My main negative was the $80 dollar parking fee and facilities fee. I only finding out about it the day before arriving. We never used the facilities so that was useless fee for me and my spouse.
The door code to the unit arrived on the morning of my arrival to my rental. My UK mobile provider did not provide mobile data in the US, so I did not have internet to access the door code. When I asked the lady at check-in if I could use their internet to access my mail to get the code I was told no. I had to go and find a place with public wifi to access my e-mail to get the door code. Luckily there is a Walmart near with public wi-fi.
I don't blame vrbo for the issue regarding Wi-Fi, it would have been helpful if they had sent the door code via email and text. That would have been really helpful.
Overall, I had a wonderful trip so it was not all bad.

Met minimal standards
Cute little place, clean but needs updating.
Communication with the owner was terrible. I never received any response.
My husband and I enjoyed fishing off the balcony and the view. We would stay again.

Cute Island Rental
This is a nice vacation rental at the gateway to South Padre Island. Cannot beat the Amenities that come with this home - fishing from your own deck, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the list goes on and on. The house is cozy and everything is peaceful in the area.

Ultimate Backyard View!!!
How stunned I was to discovery SpaceX in the distance from the huge wooden 2-level backyard deck with water lapping at the edge. Older manufactured small 1 bedroom with loud AC but awesome price and nice TV living room. Thank you!

Needs Updating
The best thing about this property was the view of the Gulf and Space X. Also the deck was awesome. Having a washer and dryer was a big plus. However, this park model needs some updating. Not all the blinds worked; there was a stain in the toilet; there was limited kitchenware and cleaning supplies. During a strong rain storm, the vent fan in the bathroom leaked. We would suggest a tv in the bedroom. Only one tv caused some disagreements! Parking was ok since we had just one vehicle. Two vehicles would have been a challenge. Not sure we would spend a month like we did this year. The view, the deck and washer/dryer were BIG pluses. There are a lot of items the need cleaning and updating.

Good no frills Accommodation's
It is a little more worn than some properties, but it was described accurately. They also recently added a newer sofa bed. This would also be a great location to view Spacex launches from!

Loved the company managing the property. They are working with a property with good location but in need of an update! Nice community, great linens provided; must update for us to return.

The house was clean. For the price, it didn’t meet expectations. We booked this property so we could fish from the back deck at night. The back porch light didn’t work so we couldn’t do that. I called twice about it. I was told that it would be fixed and offered flash lights, which wouldn’t help with night fishing. After calling twice, on two separate days, no one ever came. Check out time is 10am, which is pretty early. We were denied a late check out due to other renters coming later that day. Check in time isn’t until 4pm. Since we, the guests, are expected to take out the trash, wash the dishes, and gather all the linens, I feel like we could have been afforded an extra 30 minutes. The couch is very uncomfortable as well. I know that a lot of this may sound petty, but I would have gotten a different property if I knew we couldn’t use the property for the very reason I booked it for.

Great stay
My family and I stayed here for 5 days and absolutely loved it, the house itself was great but the view, my goodness, you can't beat it. Fish were everywhere, we dropped a submersible green light off the dock and at night you can see the fish swarming around it. Will be going back very soon!!

Sand Dollar Dump is more like it
The biggest upset was the bed!!! Super noisy box spring. Woke up 8 times during the night either from discomfort or my spouses movement causing such a loud noise and I’d wake him when I moved. Trash that bed. Too many complaints about it from guests. Waking up on our first morning we found the coffee maker did not work. We had to leave early in the morning to buy a new one. Super upsetting. We reported to management. Next, The blinds are wrecked. They won’t close in some parts so there goes the privacy. The glass dinner table top was not secured and kept flipping up every time my spouse put his elbows on it. Extremely dangerous!!! The bedroom curtain rod was pulled out from the wall and hanging. Now, Looking back on the sites rental photos ITS BEEN THAT WAY ALL ALONG! the curtains had cigarette burns as well. The owner needs to have some pride. Sand Dollar dreams is actually Sand Dollar DUMP.
Glass tables were not cleaned. Showed Visible smudges from past guests. Floor corners were caked with dirt. Sofa looked stained and unclean. Back deck was littered with palm leaves and debris. We had to clean ourselves just to enjoy the initial visit to back deck. Lastly, in order to flush, hold the button in and count to ten. Sheesh! Very disappointing. - Steve’s wife.

Some people really should calm down. This place was amazing.
I read the reviews after I booked the place, and noticed they were a bit lower than I was hoping for. There was mention of bugs and uncomfortable mattresses, and other stuff. Y'all need to chill. How on earth could y'all go to this slice of heaven on the water and find a way to complain?? The place itself was fine! The mattress was fine, there were no bugs, the view was amazing. The $80 fee for parking passes was annoying, but that wasn't vacasa's fault, or fee. Definitely consider this place. Well worth it.

Average stay.
The property was nice, scenery was great. This was our toddlers first fishing outing. We had seen in the reviews that the bed was uncomfortable, well that was putting it lightly, the bed would make a loud squeaking noise when getting on the bed. Roaches was a problem too, one had landed on me and scared me. Fishing was nice for my boys and was safe because of the fence. Overall, outdoors was much better than indoors.

Wonderful view
The view was so peaceful and absolutely phenomenal. Great for nature watching. Wi-fi worked great. Air conditioner worked well. No problems with the television. The pictures posted are technically accurate, but they're outdated. When you go on vacation, the last thing you want is to toss and turn all night, but that’s exactly what happened due to the quality of the bed. Unsure why they charge a cleaning fee since it was need of cleaning upon arrival. The floor felt dirty and the bathroom had a bad odor. Thankfully, I had my own supplies. There was a bud light 6-pack with a bottle in one of the cabinets which appears to have been there for a long time. The shower handle needs to be replaced- we had trouble operating it due to it being messed up. The blinds were a mess and we had to straighten them out- one set isn’t even attached to the string. Most drawers are hard to open/close- they get stuck. The kitchen chairs are uncomfortable, and one kept coming apart at the bottom. Although this is not specified in the listing, I expected a washer and dryer in the unit due to someone else's review that mentioned there being one in-unit. If this is in the unit, it may possibly be located behind a door in the hallway area- I wouldn't know because it was locked. We had to purchase light bulbs because some of the bulbs were out and the extra lighting was needed. Wasn’t sure how to change the bulbs on the patio, so was unable to utilize this area at night as we had anticipated. I tried contacting Vacasa but gave up after being on hold for 40+ minutes. Overall, we made the best of our stay. This could easily be a 4- or 5-star property if they had a better mattress and fixed some of the issues within the house. I would be open to staying here again if the mattress alone was replaced. The best thing about this property is the 5-star view!

No model home and uncomfortable
I think the owner slapped together some old trailer pieces and had them put together and painted with white paint to make them look good in pictures. All the seating was uncomfortable so this place would not be good for any older adults looking for a comfortable place to relax. My husband had to pull me up out of the couch. We had to fight with the rocking recliner to get foot part back down. This is a nice retirement community, but this is not a place older people would want to rent. We left several days early.

Floor was extremely dirty and bad smell in laundry room. Bath area could improve. My first stay and obviously the more you spend the better accommodations...or is it??
