About this villa rental
Elegant, modern décor and luxurious outdoor spaces with sea views fuse harmoniously at one of Positano’s premiere villas. Villa Gaia is one of the few properties in Positano that enjoys a privileged position overlooking the sea and town with minimal steps leading to its entrance from the street level. An oasis on a quiet hilltop, it's an ideal retreat for a small group or family looking to delight in the tranquility of Positano life.
The villa’s focal points are undoubtedly the spacious terraces facing the sea. Guests can indulge in the refreshing pool, lounge poolside soaking up the Mediterranean sun, or enjoy morning coffee while gazing at the boats drifting on the sparkling sea.
Villa Gaia gracefully combines modern amenities and conveniences with touches of traditional Italian décor throughout, including antique majolica tiles. Vaulted ceilings and archways, characteristic of the coastal architectural style, make the living spaces feel light and airy.
Each of the three bedrooms is tastefully appointed with plush linens and bedding, air-conditioning, and an en-suite bathroom. The living and dining rooms are generous with comfortable seating and large glass doors that can be opened to the terrace, inviting the outdoors seamlessly inside. Amenities include air conditioning throughout, ceiling fans, TV, dishwasher, barbecue, washing machine, and a gas dryer.

We stayed three nights and enjoyed restaurants, cruises, shopping and cooking classes. The house was perfect. Very good air conditioning and pool was lovely and refreshing at the end of active days. The location was quiet and a nice neighborhood with market and restaurants nearby. Beautiful view and well stocked, the main area of town is a 15-20 minute walk down. Walking back up is longer and taxis are available for 30 euro. Pasquale was an incredible host and very responsive to questions and planning/ very accommodating to all requests!

We spent a week in Positano here and loved every minute of it. Breathtaking views, charming interior and a pool to cool off in after climbing the many stairs of Positano. Walking distance to several outstanding restaurants and shops and mere minutes to the beach.
Pasquale was the best host you could ask for. Attentive, responsive and professional. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful Villa!! Made many family memories. Pasquale was very receptive and always available with any questions we had. The Villa was spacious and clean with amazing views!! Kitchen had everything needed to make meals. We bought groceries right down the street. Many great restaurants near by (shortcut down steps.) The pool was so nice to have, and bigger than we thought it appeared in pics. Loved having washer/dryer and AC!! Hope we can stay here again one day!!!

Where do I start...the Villa is a slice of heaven in a quaint neighborhood near the top of Positano. There is a local bar, market, coffee shop and restaurant several steps away. The walk down to Positano center was filled with many cafes, shops and restaurants and amazing views along the way. It is about a 20 minute walk to town following the road which we found easier than steps. Once in town it is easy to catch a bus back up to the villa with the bus stop steps away. You can also take a taxi but they can be costly.
The home itself is beautiful and well represented in the online photos. We spent time at the pool relaxing and enjoying the amazing view, used the well appointed kitchen to prepare appetizers with our purchases from the market. It is charming, clean and offers enough modern conveniences while maintaining its Italian charm. I will warn about the mosquitos and suggesting bringing bug spray! We all were very bit up.
But the best part by far is Pasquale, the property manager! We communicated in advance to make dinner reservations, arrange transport and a tour of the coast. He greeted us on arrival; helping with luggage and giving us all the details we needed to get around Positano. Pasquale always responded quickly and kindly. While there he helped arrange taxis, a boat tour and so much more!! We will definitely be back...not just because of how much we loved Positano but because of the warmth and friendship extended by Pasquale!

We spent a week here with our two sons and their wives. The property was excellent and our host (Pasquale) was very good. He was extremely helpful in making reservations, his recommendations were great, he has many connections including an excellent driver (Michael). The villa is high up the hill but away from all the crowds and there are cafes and grocery shops very close by. The bus stop is also very close. The villa was outstanding and very true to the photos on VRBO. The pool was the perfect temperature for cooling off in the afternoon. Highly recommend this property!

While the views and the Villa were spectacular, Pasquale made our visit to Positano more than we could’ve ever imagined. He is a great guy who was relentless in helping us make reservations and helping us move around Positano. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone because of its beauty and the owner himself.
Pasquale, you outdid yourself. Thanks for a great time. Talk soon.

The house is just as described and the description doesn’t emphasize enough the fantastic view and feeling of privacy.
Pasquale greeted us and was helpful throughout the trip.

The property itself was perfect for our needs - it had 3 bedrooms each with it's own bathroom, a full kitchen, common area, and small private pool.
We arrived very early before checkin but the manager met with us to store our bags on the property, and even took us to get some coffee at the local bar. His communication was good.
The property came with a housekeeper who would clean the entire property while we were out during the day. She was very nice and helped rummage up some full size umbrellas for us during the rainstorms we experienced.
We liked the location, but we all like walking and it's a walk to the beach / city center. You will get a workout on the long stairways living here, though of course you can catch the local bus which is easy as the property is right on the loop. What we liked about the location is the view, and also proximity to a bus stop, bar, post office, pharmacy, corner store, grocery store, and some local restaurants.
There were some significant negatives. The first were that one of the rooms had a mold and sewer-like smell. The occupants of this room felt the air was unsafe but just sort of endured it. When their door was open we could detect the smell emanating from the room, and any housekeeper or manager would know that there is a problem there. The occupants of another room reported the bed to be extremely hard, with one of them having bruises on each hip from sleeping. The 3rd room had no problems.
Another "issue" is that in the housekeeping service is paid for by the guests as an extra fee, but instead of this being listed in the VRBO cost section, it is buried in the description of the property. This fee came as a surprise to us. Yes, it is technically in the long description of the property, but it's the first property any of us had ever stayed at that had a fee in the text rather than the VRBO cost section and we thought it felt a bit dishonest.
So overall we had a mixed experience.

We had the best family vacation in Positano at the Villa Gaia! Pasquale was very responsive from the start. He helped us plan a chef to come for dinner, a babysitter, and even a car pickup from the airport. All before we even arrived. Pasquale was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us the keys and showed us around the beautiful villa. The pool was a treat after climbing all the stairs in Positano! The location is great! Several small grocery stores, a bar, restaurants, post office, bus stops, all very close by. We were a family of 6 plus a 2 1/2 year old and Villa Gaia had good common space to hang out together but also had the different levels to give everyone some privacy. Rosie, the housekeeper is a wonderful lady! This is the place to stay! I almost don't want to tell anyone else about it, so it will be available again when we go back again!

We had an amazing week (again) in this villa. This was our 2nd time staying here. It checks all the boxes - three bedroom, pool, functional kitchen, cleaning services/laundry, beautiful view, and right on the internal bus route if you’d rather not walk up/down stairs. Pasquale made it easy for us organizing transportation, sitters, etc. we’ll look forward to returning!

Summer in Positano
The property and staff surpassed our expectations. The host Pasquale was beyond helpful during our entire stay. Was quick with responding to our needs and helped us navigate Positano with ease. Rosie the cleaner greeted us each morning with a contagious smile which we looked forward to seeing each day. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in staying here. We were sad to leave but will definitely come back again.

Very nice and comfortable Villa
We really enjoyed the Villa and our experience in Positano. Location was great as we could get everywhere we wanted within a 10 minute walk. The Villa was very comfortable and all of the furnishings were quite nice including a well appointed kitchen. The pool was a great bonus which we enjoyed each afternoon after our daily adventures. Great to have 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for 6 adults. All in all we really enjoyed the property and would recommend to others.

Amazing villa with spectacular views in a quieter location
Villa Gaia is amazing. The views and scenery are unmatched. It’s perfect solitude in Positano and the Carrington team is the most responsive team I’ve ever encountered. Maria is amazing and will help guests set up fun activities and private transfers, no need for a car at all. The entire property is tasteful from the furnishings, to the garden, flowers/plants, ultra private pool (pool is not shared like so many other villas/flats), huge bedrooms, so many bathrooms and the list goes on. There is solitude in every corner of the house. We enjoyed eating breakfast and coffee on the patio and in the garden and taking in the views and wild life around. The house is fully stocked with pool towels, full kitchen, dish ware, candles, ceiling fans, A/C, etc. the pool was a nice reward after the steps and during the hot days. Easy walking to the short cut stairs to town. Be prepared for some steps but overall it’s not that bad and never hurts to burn some calories. Less than a block away you have mini market with just about everything you need including tons of gluten free options. Bar Internacionale was fun to hang with some locals, snacks, sip cold drinks and morning coffee/espresso. The bar had some good light fare as well. The restaurant next door Is really nice too with a very friendly staff and owners, and good local dishes. The bus is nearby although we stuck with walking since the bus always looked packed. We stayed 4 nights and Carrington let us check in really early so it was like getting an extra full day. This Villa is really nice and highly recommend it, great for kids too. The fact you don’t have to book a 7 night minimum is a huge plus. Overall this place is immaculate and there really isn’t a single complaint. Thanks for the late August last minute booking to make our Italy trip even more memorable.

A Wonderful Villa for Family Vacation
My family and I (six adults) stayed at Villa Gaia for three nights during our vacation in Positano. The quaint property was clean, spacious and had everything we needed during our visit. We loved coming home at the end of the day and relaxing together either on the outside porch or in the cozy family room. The location was great! We were far enough up the hill to separate ourselves from the crowds and enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea, but certainly close enough to walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants. There are a lot of stairs (up & down), but it is Positano and we considered that our exercise. There is also a market, cafe and restaurant at the top of the hill, which only takes a few minutes to walk and is very convenient. Carrington Italia manages the property and was very professional throughout the rental process and during our stay. Erin and Maria were always responsive to all my questions and provided me with a packet of information that prepared me for my stay (check-in/check-out policy, things to do, restaurant suggestions, etc.). Thank you to the ladies (and Erin's husband) for ensuring our time at Villa Gaia was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this property.

Fantastic
Thank you for a great stay in Positano. The house is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The steps to and from town are easily manageable by 7 year olds and by adults with desk jobs who do not work out. The recommendations and responsiveness of the Carrington team were first class. Mike Fiorentino was a brilliant driver and looked after us wonderfully. Thank you all very much, and see you next time.

Everything You Could Want!
I have just returned home from 11 days in Italy including 5 nights in Positano. My wife and I were traveling with two other couples who are among our oldest dearest friends. All of us have had the good fortune of experiencing extensive travel throughout the world.
We chose a private villa through VRBO over a hotel as it afforded us a more intimate environment and briefly made us feel like Italians living on the Amalfi coast .
We chose Villa Ghia because of the description and pictures which did not disappoint!
But we got so much more! By booking with Carrington the property manager we also got Erin and Maria. These two women became our passport for all the fun things we did in Positano. Transfers, guides, yacht rental , and dinner reservations were seamlessly handled by these young ladies. Our biggest problem was a pesky coffee pot that was replaced with a brand new one within 4 hours .
The villa is perfectly located for your Positano visit and Erin and Maria are perfectly suited to make it the Italian vacation you are thinking of.

Great 3 bedroom villa for our family vacation
This was a wonderful villa for our family’s (3 adult couples) visit to Positano. The property is very well maintained, but more importantly, the service provided by the team at Carrington was excellent. They were extremely responsive and very helpful in making arrangements to get us around the Amalfi Coast (where you never want to drive on your own). They also assisted with arranging for a chef to cook us a delicious dinner at the villa. The villa is located near the top of Positano so be prepared for walking up and down hundreds of steps (we just told ourselves that the steps justified all of the pasta, pizza and gelato we ate). We would highly recommend this property.

Incredible villa, make better by incredible view. The pool was a huge bonus with the kids and the location was great. The Carrington staff were so helpful and easily available ...the best of any property we have rented from...Erin made our trip amazing and appreciate all she did for us.
We would recommend this villa to everyone !!!!

Great place in a charming town
The villa was comfortably appointed and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the location just down the hill from a small market, a café, and a new restaurant The property managers were friendly and of great help with whatever we needed. Positano itself was charming.

Great service and location!
We brought our family and had the most amazing trip, from the kind service and helpful tips to the incredible food and views, our trip was perfect. We drove down from Rome and thankfully you can arrange for parking because there really isn't any on the streets. Most people hire drivers so we were a bit out of the loop, but it wasn't a problem. Erin hooked us up with valet parking, scooters, and dinner reservations our first night. We highly recommend booking through Carrington. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. Positano is built into the mountains so prepare to hike a million stairs to get to the beach and town square. The shopping and dining are exquisite, definitely on my top 10 places to visit.

Gorgeous Villa!
The pictures are amazing, but it's even better once you are there! We just got back from an awesome week in Positano. The villa is huge -- three bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms on the upper floor. The next floor down has the kitchen, living room, dining room, another seating area, powder room, and an expansive covered outdoor deck overlooking the pool and the gorgeous Mediterranean Sea. This villa is high up in Positano affording expansive views every time you step outside. There are many steps down the the central part of the town (you can also take the bus or a taxi -- but we mostly just walked). The villa is only steps away from a small grocery store, pastry/wine/food bar, and delicious pizza restaurant. The pool was a must have for us, especially since it was quite warm when we were there. We were in the the pool multiple times a day. We thank Erin for her warm welcome, helpful tips, and assistance during our wonderful week in Positano.

Wow! What a great stay!
It was tough to find a beautiful villa with a pool that didn't have 5+ bedrooms, so this one was perfect for us. It sits pretty high in town affording lots of beautiful views. Which also means lots of steps to the beach. We found walking the road was a bit easier up and mostly down rather than using the steps. If you're not up for the walk, taxis are easy to find too. I'm a gardener, so I really appreciated all the flowers and plants on the property. They add to the beauty of the villa and are very well cared for. We arrived after the wisteria had finished, but I'll bet it was a sight to see! Over all, this home had everything we needed, a comfy common area, the kitchen was well equipped and we did use it a few times to prepare meals. There's a spacious dining area both inside and out. Bedrooms were comfortable with en suite bathrooms, also not that easy to find with a smaller villa. Pasquale and Erin helped with all our questions, needs and recommendations. All in all, we loved our stay, recommend it highly and would likely return.
