Less than a 20 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tony’s Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (historic motorcycle, as featured on History Channels “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 15 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This cabin is about a 30 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Harrah's Casino in Cherokee (even if you do not gamble it has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
A little more than 40 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estates & Winery, several micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 25 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately, 50 minutes away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 20 minutes to Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge (home of Dollywood).
The approach to this vacation rental is easily accessible, paved road right off the main road in Maggie Valley. We advise during the Fall and Winter Season (more specifically during inclement weather) guests use an all-wheel drive or 4 wheel drive for accessibility.
*This is a dog friendly property, please contact the Property Manager at Maggie Mountain Vacations as there will be an additional non-refundable pet fee, not included in the base rent. We’ll need to know breed, weight and number of pets you will be bringing, during your stay, some restrictions apply.

Overall, we had a wonderful week at this cabin. It is small, but that is explained in the details. There was a propane grill on site that was rusted out and very dirty so we had to change our grilling plans. Otherwise, we enjoyed making great memories as a family.

Cabin we stayed in was nice and clean. Quiet neighborhood. I only wish it would have been a bit more private and secluded.

Very pleased with this cabin! Quaint, comfortable and clean.

This is a wonderful, very clean cabin that has a loft king bed and ground floor bedroom with a queen bed. The couch may open into a bed as well, but we didn't check. There are plenty of kitchen tools, pans and utensils; we even had a choice of a k-cup machine or a brewing machine for coffee. The towels are very clean and soft, but there are not many, so maybe bring a couple of your own. The owner simply asks that you do not use their white towels for cleaning purposes such as make up, floors, vehicles and the like and they provide rags for those purposes.
The hot tub is of good size, is very clean and heats up as it should. It faces outward toward the wooded mountain from the back of the cabin but is in view of the neighboring cabin, so bring your bathing suit :-).
The cabin warms up nicely and has plenty of windows. There's a wrap porch on two sides. The photos lead one to believe that the porch/deck is elevated, but it isn't. And, the cabin is not as isolated as the photos suggest. This didn't bother us at all, but if you are looking to get away from immediate neighbors, this is not a good choice. We love the location, which is just off of Socco Road with a minimally steep climb on a paved road.
We've stayed in quite a few places in Maggie, all of them farther up the mountain in hopes of seeing wildlife, but it was at Crazy Wolf that we saw the most forest animals. There's a beautiful gang of wild turkeys that come through twice a day, deer, birds of many types and gray squirrels.
We would definitely consider staying again at Crazy Wolf, or one of the other nearby cabins.

This is just what we needed for a long weekend in the Smoky Mountains. The cabin was very well maintained & easy to find. Very clean & had all of the amenities that are needed for the weekend. Really enjoyed the wild turkeys roaming the property in the morning while we had our coffee. Would definitely like to stay here again!

Myself and my husband invited my sister and 82 year old mother up to stay. The cabin was perfect for 4 people. The lights on the stairs are a wonderful idea as my sister almost took a bad fall during the night but the lights kept the stairs illuminated enough for her to catch herself. The area is very quiet even with neighbors around and the location is close to everything. Motorcycle accessible as well as trailer. We enjoyed our time with my mom as this is her first trip out in quite some time. She loved sitting on the porch watching all the turkeys. Thank you for a wonderful extended weekend.

Do yourself a favor and stay in this wonderful cabin. It is truly the perfect place to stay. The cabin was super clean, everything we needed was there, the hot tub was perfect and the location was great!!

The cabin was nice and very convenient to Maggie Valley. The loft was comfortable for 2 people but if we had more guests I would be afraid it would be too loud to sleep in.

I set up this trip for a dear friend who is battling stage 4 cancer. She has a had a really rough year so I wanted to do something special for her and her daughters. You guys rocked this one!

The cabin was very nice and cozy, it was very clean. Only thing the outside needed more attention. And the top of the fridge. But overall it was very clean. We enjoyed our stay. Quiet neighborhood. Only thing was I had to take my trash to a trash disposal center. Bot sure if it’s a county rule. Being from Florida we have different rules. I loved the cabin and my family loved it. I would stay again in a heart beat.

The hot tub cover had a large slit in it. It was very very heavy from rain. When we took it off, debri and brown water went into it. Cabin was dusty. There was a cob web off the TV to a wall. Overall very cute and comfortable. From the pics, we thought it was more private.

The cabin is nice and cozy. We’re a family of 7 and it was plenty of room though! It is a lot closer to other cabins than it looks in the picture, but the neighborhood was nice and nobody bothered us. Close to town but you can’t tell it once you’re there! We loved that they allowed us to take our dog too! Oh and the big wild turkeys and squirrels were around every day! Overall, very clean and would definitely stay again!

Thank you
Me and my husband had such a great time. We appreciate the customer service and everything was exactly how it was shown and described in the photos online. Hot tub was amazing after a day of skiing.

Decent place
Great intro. Snow storm put a huge wrench in the plans. Couldnt get out of the neighborhood bc of the ice. Overall decent but wouldve liked some more communication from property manager. Left messages about the condition of the road. I even spent 3 hours chipping away at ice and so i could leave and get to our apoointments. It is a snow chains required kind of place as our all wheel drive vehicle was no match for how steep, icey it was.

My sister, niece & I had a nice stay in this cabin. It was comfortable & well equipped, but not fancy. We come to the Smoky Mountains every fall to escape the Florida heat & enjoy the gorgeous autumn foliage. This was our first time to Maggue Valley. We were greeted by a large flock of turkeys on our arrival and saw them several more times during our stay. The cabin is actually right in town which makes it super convenient. It is not as secluded as it appears in the pictures. The neighbors are pretty close, so if you're looking for seclusion & privacy this cabin isn't for you. The gas fireplace was easy to operate and kept the cabin toasty warm on some of the chillier nights. The kitchen was well stocked. The decor is pretty dated, and we noticed the total lack of floor coverings. No carpet, area rugs, or even a bath mat! I guess this could be a plus for those with allergies, but for us the wood & tile floors got quite chilly. Bring your socks & slippers! The hot tub cover was quite heavy and we were only able to open it half way. The beds were comfortable. The dresser in the downstairs bedroom only had one functional drawer, and no hangers in the closet. If you're staying more than a night or two, you'll have to bring your own paper towels, TP and soaps. The owners are very picky about their commercial grade white towels & washcloths. There were two different laminated signs in the cabin admonishing guests on how to use the appropriate "rags" rather than their good towels for make-up removal. One sign lists the inflated prices guests will be charged if they dare to stain any of the white towels.
I have never stayed in a VRBO that required guests to remove all their own trash from the property, even though there was a large garbage can outside the cabin and we observed garbage pick up circle through the neighborhood. Charging guests $50 extra for trash pick-up seems excessive on top of all the other additional service fees!
Overall, I'd give this cabin a C.

We really enjoyed our stay in Maggie Valley. It was beautiful and peaceful... yet close to restaurants and shopping. I especially loved my morning coffee next to the fire place.. just what I needed to relax. The check in process was super easy and the management team was just a call away when I had a couple of questions. They were very nice and helpful. Definitely 5 stars 🌟 from our experience.. we look forward to our next visit!

Good cabin, no issues. Only gripe would be the inability to leave trash without extra cost.
