About this apartment rental
Apartment on the EDGE is a modern self-contained, spacious apartment for two, at the rear of a family home, located in the quiet suburb of Lenah Valley.
The apartment is newly refurbished, and has been thoughtfully appointed to ensure the comfort and convenience of our guests.
The open plan living area has access to the verandah and shared courtyard, where you can sit and enjoy an early morning cuppa, or perhaps a glass of something special in the evening.
For those quieter evenings relax and enjoy the apartment which is equipped with a large TV, Wi-Fi, Netflix, and Spotify or perhaps lose yourself in the selection of books on Tasmanian history, culture, and the culinary opportunities that our state is so well known for.
Your complimentary breakfast pantry will be stocked with a selection of cereals, muesli, bread and spreads, which may include home made raspberry jam. Tea, coffee and fresh milk is also provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized oven and cooktop, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher.
The queen size bed is fitted with luxurious linen, and for those cooler Tassie nights an electric blanket. There is ample wardrobe space and in the ensuite bathroom you will find deluxe towels, a hair dryer and a selection of quality bathroom products.
Portable cot and baby chair are also available on request.
Guests may check themselves in to the apartment independently using the secure pass code door, for easy after hours’ arrivals. Your code will be provided after your booking is accepted.
The apartment adjoins the main house; however, it is entirely separate, with its own, private entrance. Our aim is to provide a hospitable space, allowing our guests complete independence and privacy.
We are available to assist guests during the day by mobile or email or if you wish, in person in the evening.
Lenah Valley is a quiet suburb four kilometres from the CBD with many amenities within walking distance-:
• Salamanca Fresh grocery store and deli.
• Lenah Valley Foodstore
• Sublime Italian restaurant
• Milano’s takeaway pizza
• Whisk and Co. (breakfast and lunch)
• Plus - chemists and doctor’s surgery, hairdressers, service station, newsagent, fashion boutique and florist.
In the adjoining suburb of New Town, a few minutes’ drive from the apartment, there are cafes’ bakeries, grocery stores, K Mart and Woolworths and Coles supermarkets.
Elizabeth Street, North Hobart, a five-minute drive from the apartment, is famous for its strip of eateries, hotels and specialty shops. Check out a film at the historic State Cinema (possibly on the rooftop) with a glass of Tasmanian wine.
From the airport, you can catch a taxi or the Airporter Shuttle Bus is $18 per person one-way to the city. If you have a car it’s about a 30-minute drive. Guests have access to parking in the driveway or there is plenty of off-street parking. Public transport, which will take you to the city (via North Hobart) is only two minutes away on Augusta Road. Buses run very frequently. A taxi to the Waterfront will cost less than $20.
It is 10 kilometers to MONA which can take 20 – 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
There is a Bernese Mountain Dog called Boris in the back garden, please let me know if this is a problem.

Everything you need to get a good nights sleep after each day of hiking.
Close to city and all it has to offer, lots of great walks/hikes within an hour or so, and plenty of places to get dinner on the way home.
Property was well described, comfy bed, clean bathroom and kitchen, and owners were lovely. Very pleasant stay.
The unit is self contained, but backyard is shared with the main house. Boris is a lovely dog.

Our accommodation at Apartment on the Edge was simply perfect in every way.
Allison and Rick and their delightful pets are the most wonderful hosts - so obliging and incredibly helpful.
The kitchen is generously stocked with great equipment and many food staples.
The heated towel rails a real luxury.
Spotlessly clean.
We can’t wait to return to this gorgeous home away from home.

I had a wonderful time staying at The Edge Apartment. The location is great and the apartment was super clean. Allison and Rick are friendly and very accommodating to my needs (e.g. vegan breakfast foods). Allison gave me great suggestions on things to do on my trip. I slept like a baby on the most comfortable bed in the world. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe staying here. Thanks to Allison, Rick, Boris and all the kitties for making this an unforgettable holiday.

Perfect location for us near our family and amenities (groceries, cafe, pharmacy). Really appreciated the breakfast and snack supplies. Great espresso maker! The garden and patio were lovely to look at and we enjoyed watching the three cats and large dog who were often out there.

Everything we needed. Clean, quiet, great area, spacious unit, lovely garden outlook, lovely hosts. Boris & the cats are beautiful. Just down the road from Calvary, Lenah Valley has a good variety of shops & cafes. Close to North Hobart eateries & shopping & still close & an easy drive into the city

Wow, what a beautiful apartment. All the little extras and personal touches, made our stay unbelievable. Close to the city & surrounding areas, which made travelling around easy. Was absolutely a home away from home. Fully recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Hobart area. Loved it!

This is a fabulous place to stay! The property is spotlessly clean, the bed is extremely comfy, and the kitchen is well-equipped. However, what sets it apart from other places are the hosts, Allison and Rick. They are so friendly and helpful, and are genuinely nice people. Though the apartment is connected to their home, you never feel like an intrusion. And Boris, their beautiful dog, is very welcoming too!

The apartment was lovely. Very clean and uncluttered and stocked with a few basics to get you started. Comfy bed, great shower and A very nice outdoor area. What really makes it are the hosts, Allison and Rick. Super friendly and helpful. And of course there is Boris the wonder dog. Highly recommend. This was our first try at a VRBO and was certainly nice to hit a home run the off the bat.

We had a lovely comfortable stay at the Edge. The apartment is equipped with everything you need. It was close to everything and the hosts are extremely helpful and friendly. They are professional, yet relaxed and friendly. Would definitely recommend for an enjoyable Hobart visit.

This is an ideal place to stay for a couple. The host is wonderful, helpful and friendly. The bed is very good. The shower and toilet is very good as well. The kitchen is of good quality and adequately equipped. The television is quite good with all streaming facility. We had a very nice and comfortable stay here. We will recommend this to our friends. The location is good with various shops nearby.

Arrived at our apartment after a very long day travelling and we were more than impressed with this beautiful gem so close to Hobart. Our hosts Allison and Rick were fantastic making us feel so at home. As we arrived late at night it was comforting to find staples in the fridge and pantry for breakfast the next day, plus ample supplies of teas and coffee. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment, I could not fault it. ...Denise

We stayed for 4 nights and we're very comfortable. The unit has spotlessly clean and had free wifi, Netflix and everything for an enjoyable stay. Lots of little extras such as heated towels and electric blankets

What a wonderful stay we had at this property. It certainly had everything we needed, was extremely clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. On top of this the hosts are so very lovely. I highly recommend this property.

Can't rate this property highly enough. I chose it based mainly on the reviews and it didn't disappoint. Allison and Rick are warm and friendly without being intrusive. It's an extremely clean and pleasant apartment, made even more enjoyable by the little extras, such as cheese, bread and milk. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Great apartment, loved the supplies that were provided eg cheese, crackers, cerial, milk and all the different teas you can imagine, the apartment was well equiped with everything you could need, our stay was to short would have loved to have stayed longer.
