This house was perfect! Great location (the beach is so quiet and not overcrowded), great pool, great layout inside for our group. We really enjoyed the pool! The walk to the beach was so easy and close! We are already talking about our next trip and staying here again! It was a fantastic week! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

This was our third rental on Captiva and we are booking this one again! The bedrooms are all very nice and spacious - very comfortable beds! The pool was quite shaded so was perfect for our water obsessed toddler when she needed a break from the beach. There were no beach towels as listed on the amenities, but when we called about it, towels were dropped of within the hour. The shortest walk to the beach was along the main road, but there is a path to beach access down the street without any car traffic if that is a concern. We have no complains whatsoever!

We got there in the middle of a cold snap and had our granddaughters with us for 2 nights. Thank goodness for the heated pool, which despite the cold air temperature they spent a lot of time in! After they left the temps rose and we got to enjoy the beach (a block away) and the village which is a short walk away. Green Flash restaurant is a block away and has outdoor dining. Escapade was perfect for our needs; kitchen was equipped enough to get by. The beds were comfortable (a top priority for us) and it's in a wonderful neighborhood. Loved being able to have my dog with me. I would definitely stay here again. We did have an issue with the gas tank on the outdoor grill. Royal Shell had it repaired within a couple hours of my reporting the problem. Great service.

Good get away
The property is nice. The landscaping needs work. The trees surrounding the property make the property dirty. The front deck is nice but don’t walk on it with bare feet. The lighting under the house needs work. The flow from inside to the pool area didn’t work well. Very short walk to the beach and down to the local store/restaurants.

Zoomed out
The kids were burned out from distance learning so I booked this great house 3 months prior to their spring break. 50 yards from door to beach. The house was spacious for our 6 people. I had groceries delivered from Baileys that were in the refrigerator on my arrival. We had a small issue with the pool while we were there. I called property management, who had a maintenance person on site in a little over an hour from my call. The only drawback about the house is that it is close to the main road so there is some road noise. That being said, I would still rent this house again with no hesitation.

Great location
The pool had just been refilled when we got there so too cold to use for children for about two days, but once it was warm they loved it. The evening we arrived we checked out the recreation area downstairs and found it difficult to light up. There was only one working light which was difficult to locate switch to, and really not enough light. The rooms were awesome and perfect for our needs. There is a need to fix or replace the dishwasher because it has duct tape holding the rack in one place that impedes closing it easily. Also the cable/TV is a funky set up that we never really mastered and ended up using Amazon Prime the whole time. Finally, when looking at the location it did not list beach accessories or toys on the items at the unit, however this was inaccurate, there were plenty of beach accessories and I am really sorry I brought our own along- but a good mistake for sure. We would stay at this location again, it was perfect for our needs.

Very comfortable and pleasant property at walking-distance to the beach
We really enjoyed our stay at the property. It is perfectly located, far from the "island crowd", in a very quiet neighbor surrounded by a beautiful tropical vegetation. The house is as it appears in the photos, very spacious, regularly maintained and clean. We appreciated especially the huge bedroom with a terrasse on the upper floor, the dining room with a terrasse as well equipped with a barbacoa working with gas, and the lower level with the a large swimming pool and ping-pong table. We particularly enjoyed to dine on the terrasse and then relax in the evening the swimming pool, which is protected from mosquitos and other bugs to enter in this pool area. The check-in after hours (24h/7) was very helpful and suitable for us who where driving long hours from Washington, DC! The pet-friendly option was mandatory for us and this property offers this extra with an affordable pet fee.
Overall, we really recommend this property and we will book it again if we return to Captiva Island!

Everything was perfect!
Our group of seven arrived very late Saturday night/Sunday morning. The check in was super smooth. We order groceries from Bailey’s and they were waiting for us when we arrived. The house is in a perfect location! We had a very short walk to the beach. The area of the beach does not have public parking so it wasn’t ever crowded. The beach is a great mix of sand and shells. The pool at the house was a great way to spend time when the beach was too hot. The “basement” area is great to relax, hang out, play games etc. There were many intense ping pong games played! The house has everything you would expect. If you have specific meals planned, bring the items you’ll need such as spices, cooking oil, foil and the such. We didn’t ever find ourselves wishing the house had something. Our ages ranged from 15-47 and everyone loved it.

Excellent location for a laid back week on Captiva!
Pros: Location, location, location. Literally a 2-3 minute walk to the beach from the front door. Also within an easy walk to Captiva Village (restaurants, coffee shops, the famous Mucky Duck & Bubble Room, etc.) Also an easy walk down the beach to the Tween Waters Inn and the fun activities they host there! (Hermit Crab Races; Drag Queen Bingon.) The caged-in pool is huge and heated. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our family. Wifi speed is great, even with 2 teen boys gaming/streaming Netflix. Never ran out of hot water in a family of long shower-takers. The house is semi-updated; mostly clean, especially the floors.
Cons: Needs better maintenance/upkeep. Examples: One part of the dishwasher is being held together with duct tape. The outdoor area underneath the house is cluttered and unkempt. Several pieces of broken outdoor furniture are piled around in corners, and we couldn't tell the last time the area was hosed down/swept; rust stains on side of the pool need to be painted/covered; ping pong table is in bad condition; spiders everywhere building webs inside the pool cage. We also had to put all of our food items in ziplocks (e.g. crackers) due to tiny ants in the kitchen. This is a common problem in SW Florida, though, so I don't blame the rental company for that one. Also upon doing a load of laundry, I realized the drier had no vent to the outdoors. I called the rental company and they sent someone out to fix it within an hour, so that was good.
Inside the house, the hall bath upstairs is nicely updated. The master baths on the upper and lower levels are not as nice as they look in the photos and have mildew in the shower. We also couldn't put much of anything in the upstairs master closet due to three old TVs sitting on the floor. My only other suggestion is to have the kitchen a bit better stocked--there were no plastic cups for use by the pool, for example, and it just seems like no one has gone through the kitchen in a while to make sure there's a good balance of the items needed by most renters and that those items are in great condition.
Still, I would probably stay there again given the location and proximity to the beach, Captiva Village, and the Tween Waters Inn. With some elbow grease and de-cluttering/re-stocking, this place would get much a higher rating from me.

Easter Break with a family of 8
We had a wonderful vacation at Captiva Escapade. There were eight adults (and one baby) and the house was great. The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances, pots and pans you need. The pool was clean and the area under the house next to the pool worked out great. The location was also perfect- it was a 10 minute walk into town and a five minute walk to the beach. The dining table fit all 8 of us for eating and games.
There were a few items that need repair: some of the lounge chairs at the pool were cracked and the chair at the entrance was completely broken. The beach wagon had a broken wheel, but the beach chairs and floats were fine. It appears some pillows were added to the living room furniture in response to the previous review.
The four twin beds are tough on regular sized adults, they're better for children.
The house was very musty when we arrived, however after airing it out with the windows open the smell went away.
Overall we had a great vacation- thank you!
The staff at the Royal Shell in Captiva were lovely and very helpful.

Great location and close to beach.
We booked this house not knowing there was a noise ordinance at 10 pm in this neighborhood. We were left a note on our car from the neighbors. We had all the windows open and did not know about this. This house worked well for our stay as far as bedrooms and baths. The furniture was not very comfortable for a group our size and the washer and dryer do not work very well. The location is great for walking everywhere and to the beach.
