It was lovely and peaceful.

The house is in a great location but not well maintained. The sliding door felt like it was going to fall off with each movement. The deck and outside were dirty. The outside shower dirty. The listing said sheets and towels included but they were not. Told “since Covid “. COVID’s over. And I would have arrived expecting them if I didn’t ask anything else in-house know before coming. No advanced notice.

We were so thankful to have this cozy house in a prime location. I would say he porch was the best part but the deer and fawns strolling through our yard were the icing on the cake!

First off, the property was hard to find as the streets weren't marked. "Behind" or "next to" the ice cream shop just wasn't sufficient as there were a number of houses that fit that description. Owner could have included a map with an x to mark the spot. On entering the house, the furniture was covered with sheets making me feel as though we weren't expected or that we had just broken into an abandoned cabin. The carpet is at least 30 years old and looks every year of it with worn spots and stains. The kitchen is stocked with many cheap utensils. If you plan on cooking most of your meals it's best to bring your own tools-knives, cutting boards, mixing spoons, etc. On opening the oven we discovered the previous renters' leftovers covered in mold. If you plan on making this a working vacation or using wifi in any capacity, make other arrangements unless you're okay with standing in one particular spot between the front door & stairway to get reception. That alone made me very stressed. The silverware tray is littered with crumbs and the dishwasher doesn't work-ran it 3x and just as dirty as when we put the dishes in. It's unfortunate that the owners do not reinvest some of the rental money back into the cabin. Photos of the presumable original owners (parents of current owner?) make me think they took great pride in their summer home and the mom was a proud housekeeper. Unfortunately, that trait was not carried over. Multiple signs in the house requesting the guests to be respectful of the home are curious as you would think that would be a 2-way street? It's a considerable amount of money for the rental but the owner just doesn't seem to feel a responsibility to maintain the home properly for paying guests. On an up note, the hamlet of Hulett's Landing is like stepping back to the 1960s. A town green with a small golf course, tennis & basketball courts, a small sandy beach surrounded by a grassy area, the lake just a short block or two away and nearby canoe & kayak rentals is idyllic for those who enjoy peace & quiet. I liked the area but prefer to be closer to a town with restaurants and neighborhood-type bars with music.

Overall, this was a great rental at Huletts Landing. It is tucked away enough to provide privacy and beauty of the woods but is also just a short walk or bike ride to so many wonderful amenities and the beautiful scenery of Lake George. We went biking, swimming, fishing, boating, tubing and played golf, tennis, volleyball, pickle ball, badminton and shuffleboard all in the same place. Most nights we bbq’d on the nice grill provided at this rental then went for short walks to the ice cream parlor for dessert. This rental was extremely convenient and functional to go along with all the fun to be had at Huletts Landing. We thank the owners for keeping in touch with us and being so nice. We want to stay here again and would recommend it to everyone looking for a great vacation!

Easy access to the lake is the best thing about this house. However, we found a dead mouse on the floor when we arrived and also garbage in the kitchen. The Internet connection was very poor, so don't expect to get remote work done. Also, apparently, the owner expects you to bring your own toilet paper, so keep that on mind; otherwise, the nearest store is pretty far. The shower head needs replacement, the water flow was poor.

The property was nice and secluded, tucked away behind the Hulett’s Soda Fountain, with plenty of privacy. A nice surprise was the creak that ran near the house. While the kitchen was a little narrow, it was fully stocked with everything you could need to prepare your meals. There was plenty of seating downstairs, and the three bedrooms upstairs were comfortable. The location was wonderful, next to the golf course, and just a short walk to the lake. Kevin happened to be in the area, as we were unpacking, and came up with a friendly greeting. We were very happy with our stay!

We had a very nice visit to this cozy, rustic little house! It is just a short walk to the town beach and the ice cream shop/bar is right across the way. The neighbors were all very nice and welcoming. We have family close by and we were able to walk to their house. There was a nice big deck with a grill and a cute yard to relax in. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a nice meal for our family and we enjoyed entertaining in the living room. Upstairs had a lot of room for guests and we were sad that it was only the three of us. Hopefully we can bring our whole family next time! The shower was a bit challenging since the bathroom is kind of tight so there was not a lot of room to move. Kevin and Nancy were very friendly and helpful. It is in a lovely spot and the view was great. Overall a very relaxing and beautiful visit!

Beautiful property. Remote and private spot to enjoy woods and lake. A little difficult to find. Go in daytime. A list of how to's for the house would be helpful. Owner very open to questions. Friendly neighbors on landing. Plenty of room for at least 6 people.
