We had five families with children vacationing together and the house was perfect!! Everyone had their own living area and there was so much room. The kids especially loved the indoor play rooms and the amazing swing hanging from the house’s namesake tree. The adults enjoyed how peaceful the area was while still being just a drive away from Charlottesville. It was truly the ideal vacation house.

The Tree House was perfect for our family. We came to Charlottesville for our daughter's wedding and needed a place big enough to hold our family of 10 plus another family of four. We felt like there was plenty of room and the surrounding area is beautiful! It is a little way from grocery stores or other shopping, but the location is peaceful and quiet and we loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the yard. Everything was clean and roomier than it looks in the photos. We would definitely stay here again.

My large family had a great experience staying here for a long weekend. There was ample and comfortable space for everyone. The outdoor area was so easy to use and we spent most of our time here with several cookouts. The indoor rooms & activities for kids and the outdoor space were perfect for all of us. Thank you.
It meant a lot to have this comfortable homelike space for this special weekend when our family interred my husband's ashes at Panorama Natural Burial.

We had a lovely stay at this property! We loved the ping pong and foosball tables and the outdoor area in particular. It was clean, cozy, had plenty of towel and linens, and lots of sleeping options.

We rented this property to handle the cousin overflow from a family Thanksgiving in Charlottesville. We had 14 people total with an age range of 77 to 3 years old. The house suited everyone! It was clean, had ample towels and blankets, easy access to walking trails, and a much-enjoyed wood-burning stove in the living area. It was the perfect balance of well-cared-for yet relaxed, cozy but with plenty of space to retreat, and a private location with easy access to town. This lovely home will be our first choice when returning to Charlottesville. Thank you for wonderful stay!

This house is perfect for connecting with friends and family. The kitchen is large, well appointed, and well suited to cook together. The outdoor firepit and nearby trails made for a perfect weekend of reconnecting and relaxing with a group old friends. Everything was perfectly clean, there were thoughtful touches all over the house (fresh sheets and towels exactly where you'd hope to find them). I would absolutely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay in Charlottesville thanks to Mary and her wonderful property! We had a large group of friends and family, and I must say, all 10 of us were very impressed by how comfortable and spacious the accommodations were. We especially enjoyed the large outdoor patio area, it was a perfect weekend. I would definitely recommend this property to any families or groups looking to have a memorable weekend in Charlottesville!!

7 ladies rented this house for a getaway. It was perfect. So many bedrooms and bathrooms. Great living space for all of us to gather. Well stocked kitchen with Kindle and regular coffee pots. We loved the outside fire pit and used it all nights that we were there. Our group gets away together once per year, and it's going to be hard to find a better house.

Our family had a wonderful time spending Christmas at your home. We opened presents by the wood burning stove in the cozy front room and singing carols around the piano. We hiked down to the river and wished we could have spent more time outside on the beautiful property but it was nice and warm inside, it was mighty cold out there during our stay.

We had a great stay for a family Thanksgiving gathering. House had ample space and amenities for everyone - fire pit, patio, play room, and piano were all a big hit. Kitchen was well stocked with enough pots, pans, utensils, and dishes to easily handle large group meals. Great communication from owner Mary.

We had a GREAT time staying here! We had 12 adults and 2 children. We all had bedrooms/beds and plenty of room to gather. The kids loved the outdoor swing and playroom upstairs. The house is close to wineries and breweries. A great family get together with wonderful memories made here. We will be reserving this house again. The owner Mary was very responsive and even left us a sweet note when we arrived.

My wife and I rented this place our wedding weekend for us and our wedding party. The place was clean and spacious, beds were comfortable, and the outdoor space with the fire pit was SO cute!! We enjoyed the quiet and serenity before the big day. The host was very responsive and communicative. She let us check in a little early too which we all really appreciated! I would most definitely stay here again and 10/10 recommend!

This house is spacious, clean and has great outdoor amenities! We very much enjoyed everything that the house and neighborhood had to offer. The listing was accurate, but there is a small playroom that was not in the pictures. The host was flexible and responsive. It is in a rural location, which suited us, but ~20 min drive to conveniences.

My six University of Michigan colleague dorm-mates and I had a great week (5 days/4 nights) at the Tree House in Sept 2022. We are all in our late 60s, and look for a place for our annual get-aways that’s comfortable with lots of different gathering areas and a well-stocked kitchen for preparing some meals. The house was conveniently about a 20 -25 mins drive from the places we visited and needed— UVA, Monticello, the wineries, downtown Charlottesville, grocery stores and the airport. It is located in the scenic rural area of Cville that is reached via narrow, winding 2 lane roads. For that reason, we generally did our day trips, returned to the Tree House, and then did not go out again after dark. But that suited us just fine! The owner was very communicative and accommodating. Select the Tree House for your extended visit to Cville!

Great for a college reunion!
We rented both of Mary's properties, but spent most of our "hanging out" time in the other house -- no particular reason why. The folks that stayed in this house said it was great. Mary was responsive to questions in advance of our booking and check-in which was greatly appreciated. More secluded than I expected, but not a problem for us. Overall we had a great time!!!

Great for a big group
This house was a fantastic getaway for a group of 12 - 6 adults, 5 kids ranging in age from 9-16, and a baby. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the kids loved having their own basement retreat! We appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was — we easily had what we needed to make food for our large group. The property was pretty and peaceful, and we loved catching fireflies at night!

This place had everything you needed and more. Playroom upstairs for little ones. Ping pong, fuseball, darts downstairs. Outside swing, corn hole set, croquet. Neighbors had chickens and goats that the kids had to visit every morning. Host provided plenty of soaps, shampoo and other items that most places only have small items. Kitchen was stocked with good appliances; pots, pans and other necessities.

We had a wonderful time. Although the layout is a little unusual, we were able to fit 15. The house was clean and the common spaces were easily big enough for the entire group. We also enjoyed the yard and used the fire pit (which was already stocked with kindling and logs) and swing. The host was also very responsive to my messages - providing helpful answers to my questions. I would definitely recommend staying here if you have a big group.

The Tree House
This is the perfect home for a close group of friends to reconnect! It was clean and comfortable. Every room was furnished and incredibly spacious. There was plenty of wood for fires in the pit or the wood fire stove. Mary was extremely accommodating in allowing us to switch our dates. Definitely a top notch weekend!

The house was great and comfortably fit 13 girls. There were plenty of amenities and we had everything we needed for cooking, bathing, etc. The house is a bit secluded which is nice, but a good 20 min from downtown on country roads. A couple of us went for walks and jogs on the road in the morning to watch the sunrise over the mountains. Would recommend to any large group.

The Tree House was perfect for our group of 14 who came for the weekend to winery hop. Mary was a fantastic host, excellent communicator and made our stay so fun! She had explicit instructions for any questions we may have had. The house is stunning, in such a great location and was perfect for the Fall weekend we were seeking. We easily went to downtown Charlottesville and had a great wine tour company pick us up from the house. Highly recommend!
