The condo was clean and nice. We got to see the sunrise most days. I guess maybe I didn’t read the description well enough but I didn’t realize there was not air conditioning. It only came with salt and pepper so be sure to bring your own condiments. Others I have Stayed in have had the basics. The basics meant one roll of toilet paper. We called for more but never got a return call. But on the first day she was quick to call when we got lost To help us. Over all nice stay. Next time I’ll look for air conditioning if I plan to be there in the middle of the day

Our condo at Kapaa shores was in a great location, we were able to walk to the grocery store and it was pretty equidistant to the north and west sides of the island. There is no AC in the unit and with no screen door at the front, we still kept the back and front doors open to get the cross breeze, but had a couple chickens stop by.
There really isn't much of a beach on the property but you still get an ocean view. the unit is a bit dated, but we expected that from the images. The host was very responsive - we had a few appliances that didn't work and she acted immediately to fix the issues. One disadvantage is the bedroom faces the parking lot, which means street and porch lights shine in the room, and the sprinklers are right out front. You can't open the curtains because the light shines in and the curtains get wet...with no breeze into the room, it would have been nice to have a window AC unit in the bedroom.

This was my 1st trip to Kauai. I was seeking a central location to the North and South.
PROS
30-40 minutes to the North or South. 15 minutes to the airport. A flat, scenic 5 mile bike/pedestrian path right next to the property. A short walk to groceries, restaurants, bars, gas, and more. The resorts next door provided higher end dining as needed. We met many locals at the Taps & Hops Eatery, Mariachi's, Fish Bar Deli, Awa Kava Bar, Big Wave Dave's and more! 1st floor location made it easy to walk out to the pool, shared common grounds and ocean front. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing, although the beach is not ideal for swimming. The exterior grounds are very well maintained by 2 people every day. The unit had plenty of clean towels and gear for the beach (cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, etc.). The kitchen is fully equipped with all the tools needed if you want to cook. I never saw a single bug or critter in the unit. Overall, we found the community clean, friendly & quiet. But if you want to be secluded, this is not the place for you.
IMPROVEMENT FEEDBACK
To go from basic to great, consider adding a portable AC unit for the bedroom and white shutters (as in some of the other units) to both brighten it and allow guests to sleep with some airflow from outside. A front screen door would also allow airflow throughout the unit if you don't add portable AC units. The bathroom area with the toilet and shower needs an upgrade as it felt cramped and dingy/dirty.

The view and location were fine. We could see the pool and ocean, however there is NO BEACH, even small as was indicated in the description; I specifically asked if there was a safe for valuables, told yes, but no; the windows to the side of the slider are not lockable; the bedroom was extremely stuffy; only ONE of the stand fans worked, but not enough. FILTHY is an apt description as this place is only ever superficially cleaned; I spent time and $ cleaning the filter on the dishwasher and stove to rid the stink, the disgusting shower doors, the coffee splatter, the coffee pot, etc. For the PRICE FEES, you CAN DO BETTER, as cold they.

Nice stay. Location was a bit loud being on the first floor with traffic

Overall complex is great, and great location for walking into town or driving north or south. It was nice being on the ground floor with quick access to the pool area. While the unit was clean and tidy, it is showing some wear and tear. The flooring is uneven in places and there is no latch on the patio door - you secure the door with a stick. The bed and pull out couch were comfortable, and lawn chairs and beach towels were provided. Kitchen was adequately stocked, although the only items it had other than dishes were salt and pepper. You'll need to buy/bring everything else. Other units in the complex were stocked with spices, condiments, and dishwasher pods. Overall, it was a great place to spend a week in Kauai. Would stay here again.

This charming one bedroom condo was awesome. Clean and comfortable bed and couch. It’s on the ground floor with the condo and lanai facing east with the beautiful morning sunsets to view every morning over breakfast and a cup of coffee! Excellent cross ventilation if you open the bedroom windows and lanai sliding door. My girlfriend and I love to cook so the mornings and evenings we decided to cook the oven and BBQ’s were perfect. Pool and jacuzzi were awesome after adventurous days hiking, kayaking & snorkeling. I’d definitely recommend this property to anyone. I’d definitely want to rent it again upon returning to Kauai! Thanks Candace! Mahalo

The condo was well equipped. It had all the kitchen utensils we needed, plenty of towels, etc. We knew that it didn’t have A/C, but since we were there in October we thought it would be OK. However, we were glad that in addition to the ceiling fans, there were 2 large fans in the unit to help the air circulation.
The location is convenient – very close to the Safeway grocery store and local restaurants in Kapaa. We have been to Kauai numerous times and like to stay in Kapaa as there are beaches close by. it is also easy to get to the north and south parts of the island.

We had a wonderful stay in Kapaa. Our unit was just steps away from beautiful sunrises every morning and a lovely pool and hot tub every evening! Candace was helpful when we called with questions/concerns and took care of everything right away. Unit comes with extra towels, beach towels and chairs which was great when we traveled to other beaches. We would definitely recommend staying here.

This spot was perfect for us! Had everything we could imagine needing in the unit. Even extras! You can watch the sunset sitting in the couch/porch of unit and they are absolutely incredible! Comfortable and quiet spot. Would recommend to anyone wanting a convenient and beautiful location in Kapaa! Thank you for a great stay and first Hawaiian experience!

Very nice condo with everything you would need in it (beach chairs and towels also supplied). A lovely location with a pool and the sea on your doorstep. Lovely chairs to enjoy the sea. Kapaa is a lovely place with plenty of restaurant options.
4.0 / 5.0
The good stuff: host is super responsive, check-in/out is easy, location is nice and central if you plan to explore both the north and south ends of the island. Kapaa is a cute town and a short drive from the airport. Unit is just a few steps from parking, a few steps from the pool, and has a great view of the ocean (catch a sunrise or two while you're there). There's plenty of beach gear (chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, cooler) available to use.
The minus is that the unit is starting to show some age. The couch is biggest issue: there's a significant hole in the arm with exposed foam, and the upholstery feels very... used. Honestly we didn't like feeling it on our skin and covered the couch with a sheet for most of our stay. The sliding door latch seems to have been broken and repaired, but feels loose and tenuously attached. The shutters on the sliding door are also breaking, and a few have been fixed by being taped shut with packing tape. The front door seems to be coming off its hinges, so it really slams to shut. This is also one of the only units in the building without a screen on the front door, making it a little less convenient to get a good cross-breeze.
The space is clearly cleaned between guests, sheets and towels are in good shape, countertops etc felt clean. But, a few high traffic areas (ex: the trim around the bathroom door next to the light switch) look dirty. I think this is just a case of the unit being frequently rented and not getting an occasional deeper clean.

Overall, nice place
Everything was easy and as pictured except for one thing. I had the impression that the ocean front meant we were able to swim at the beach right in front of the condo. But you cannot, this beach is very rocky and not a safe swimming spot. Also, if we hadn’t rented a car I wouldn’t have stayed in this area as it’s mostly a town and not much scenic views. You can walk to a lot but the really pretty beaches are further up the coast.

Great location
Had everything we needed. Per other reviews, the front door hinge still needs to be fixed/replaced and the back patio blinds are very clunky and should be replaced as well. The biggest issue we had with the place is that it was very dark in there. No windows other than in bedroom and patio. It is an older place but kept up pretty well. I really like being on bottom floor. I'd say definitely worth the price for location and that it's steps from the pool and water. Only reason we'd not stay there again is really because we'd want more windows.

Short and Sweet
We stayed in Kapa'a for only four days after spending ten in Maui, which is our usual destination. We hadn't been to Kaua'i in over a decade so we thought we'd make a short trip here to finish our vacation. Being a middle-aged couple, our main purpose to travel to the Islands is relaxation. We didn't do any zip-lining or kayaking as we did when we were younger, but for us, just a little driving around to unexplored places (Hanalei Bay), shopping, eating , reading, pool time, and Netflix is fine. Kapa'a Shores was suitable for our activities, so mission accomplished. Wasn't too hot, but we will stay in an air-conditioned unit next time. It was nice to find an extension cord in the closet so I could hook up my CPAP. Safeway was very close for groceries, and there were several restaurants close by. If you don't like single-ply toilet paper, bring your own.

Perfect paradise
Property was great. Perfect proximity to the downtown Kapa’a and Coconut Marketplace. Few minor fixes, doors need adjusting, hard to close, louvers on the slider, and can’t recall if there was a mention of washer and dryer but it is not in the unit which I assumed was. Otherwise, great place and access to the Kapa’a walking path along the ocean which is over 7.5 miles long. Amazing!!

Great condo
We were very happy with our stay at this condo. It was clean and exactly as the pictures showed. We loved the view from the lanai of the pool and ocean. Had all the supplies we needed such as a cooler, beach towels and rice cooker! We enjoyed the convenient location of the condo and it was awesome to be right near the bike path. The only thing is the traffic from the main road (Kuhio highway) can be a little loud at night. But overall we were very happy with this condo!
4.0 / 5.0
Very fine place to stay, but
This unit is part of a fine resort with an especially nice pool and hot tub. I'd give it 5 stars but for two items: The shutter doors are not functional so there is no ways to shade the morning sun or provide piracy for this ground floor unit. It would be better to have floor length curtains. Also, the front door sticks so solidly that it takes considerable force to open, and it must be slammed loudly to close.

Perfect location
My friend and I rented for 11 days. The location and the view were great. Room looks at pool and ocean! Plenty of dishes, glasses, pots and pans if you are going to cook in at all. We left behind a lot of things like salt, pepper, olive oil and the proper style filters for the coffee maker because none of that was there. It could use some updating but it was perfect for our stay.

Quiet Getaway
It was a pleasant and peaceful getaway. The location is close to many attractions on the east of the island, which was ideal for the time of year (winter) we visited.

Great little place. The location was on a busy road but not bad. The amenities were nice including the beach front and kitchen supplies. The place definitely shows his age in some things but isn't bad.

Great place!
From start to finish this was an excellent place. Candace was great to work with and was extremely quick to respond to all of my questions. The location is perfect as it's close to a lot of dining options and is pretty centrally located for excursions on all parts of Kauai. The place was very clean and nicely updated. I would recommend this place to anyone heading to Kauai 😁

Great place centrally located.
The island is beautiful. This place is perfect as far as location goes. You can pretty much get to anywhere on the island in an hour or less as long as you have a car.

Scape to Kauai family paradise.
We really enjoyed the condo and it's amenities. It's definitely a family oriented place where you can have peace of mind. My kids really enjoyed the pool, the low tides early morning in the beach and the serenity at night. The condominium was comfortable and we'll suited with everything we need. The only recommendation for the property manager or owner is to make some updates and repairs to the condo and make sure the condo has been properly cleaned after a rental.
Great staff, great service with very accommodating personnel, nice place, great location, grocery shopping, coffee shops, restaurants and bike path close by. We looking forward to go back for another adventure.
Thank you.

This place was great to stay in. Great location too, near stores, restaurants, down town Kapa’a, shopping center. The place is exactly how it is in the pictures. Clean, and very well kept. Few days it was humid or super hot. Doesn’t have AC but ceiling fans and fan in bed room helped. This place has everything from toaster coffee maker, blender, stove, utensils. BUT BE AWARE there isn’t any salt, pepper, oil, spices or whatever you need to cook, you’ll have to buy all of that, which makes cooking a bit more expensive than just eating out and having to toss whatever you didn’t use. Granted everything was close by but everything is way over priced in local stores. Yes you’re on vacation but if you want to pack sandwiches or cook dinner at home since the majority of places are closed by 8; you need to have all those things. Other than that, the place was a great stay, and enjoyable.

This property is so close to local grocery stores and restaurants and only a short drive to downtown Kapa'a. The convenient walking path is a nice option to take, right along the oceanfront. I would definitely stay here again. Candace and her team were a pleasure to deal with.
