About this house rental

Holden beach, voted one of America's top ten family beaches. Channel home with private deep water boat dock, steps to the beach. This is where you can truly relax. No high rises, no traffic, no stoplights on the island. This is where my family and I relax. My home is on a deep water canal with dock--- Our home has 2 bedroom and 1 bath, kitchen and livingroom. There is 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed, and a futon in the living room. Between $135-$200 per night per unit for weekly rentals depending on time of year. We only do weekly rentals from June1-August 31st. We will rent nightly in the spring and fall. (2 night minimum) We also have a lower unit on the same property. If you prefer no stairs or need extra space- Check out HomeAway #9352350

Easy beach access from this location, just a few minutes walk. House was exactly as advertised and very clean. The neighborhood was very quiet.The host texted me as soon as the house was cleaned, so we were able to check in early.

This place was very cute and perfect size for me and 2 others. It’s in a cool spot right on the channel and we were able to hang out on the dock/in the water with floats if we didn’t feel like going to the beach. The public beach access was only a short 5 min walk away. Joel was very attentive and helpful with check in and informing us about things to do. There were people in the unit underneath but they were very friendly and didn’t mind the company at all. 10/10 recommend!!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying here. Downstairs neighbors were friendly, and the owner was communicative and very helpful. Nice place to stay if you're looking for some peace and quiet.

Absolutely perfect! The pictures in the ad do not showcase how light and bright this home is! We loved all the personal touches - it made us feel like we were staying with a family we knew! Well appointed with all of the things we could need to cook our own meals, we found everything tucked into the cabinets, out of the way with cleared surface areas for all the things! Coffee overlooking the canal was the perfect start to the day, and the beach access was just a short walk away. Comfy beds, and much larger rooms than we expected. Plenty of "spaces" here. Dana and Joel are friendly, informative, and gracious hosts! **Definitely planning a return trip

This is comfortable, nicely located beach duplex. You have a great canal view with a short walk to the beach! The back deck provides a comfortable place to relax and take in the canal view. The neighborhood was generally very quiet.

Joel was great to attend to initial hiccup checking in. After that, we had an amazing weekend. House has great porches for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. Well equipped kitchen, everything we needed. Thanks, Joel!

Wife and I really enjoyed this property. Owner was very helpful with check in/out and informative. Easy walk to beach and ICW, but we also enjoyed hanging out on the dock. Very comfy bed and furniture. We’ll be back!

If you're looking for budget friendly, easy check in, and responsive hosts, this is your place! If you've rented on Holden Beach before or any family friendly beach for that matter, then you're probably familiar with the "feel" and the amenities a rental like this has to offer. The owners are very friendly, down to earth, and most of all, kind! The house isn't the Ritz Carlton, but it isn't an Econolodge either. It is a slightly older yet average beach home. Most pots and pans didn't match, nor did utensils. But pretty much everything you could need is there. When we spend a week at Holden, our rental is primarily a place to sleep and eat with an occasional afternoon reprieve from the sun. Most of the furniture is older and worn. The master bed is quite uncomfortable however, the other bed is new. We almost switched beds with our 5 and 7 year old kids because my back was reeling after the first 2 nights. The bathroom leaves a bit to be desired. Due to the size, you could wash your hands while you use the latrine...lol. The entire house is quite cramped as well. BUT, as I said, it had everything we needed and more. Would recommend for the price!

Let's first talk about the great things about this spot: it's in a great location (easy walk to the beach and real close to fishing spots); it has very friendly and hospitable hosts -- they exceeded expectations in every way; and the water pressure in the shower was real nice. The beds were adequate and the kitchen had enough for us to do some light cooking, and the back porch was nice to wind down. Ultimately it was a little buggy. This is expected since it's right next to the canal but noticable to mention. The common area, entry stairs, and kitchen have also been well lived in. This was all fine for us: we used it as a place to eat, take naps, or wind down before sleeping. I think if you don't spend the majority of your time here, you'll be happy with your stay. If you're planning on having large family gatherings or trying to cook large meals it may not meet your needs. The hosts also offered us kayaks, bikes, and even lent us a fishing pole, none of which we used but should be mentioned as examples of our gracious hosts. If the common areas were updated, we would absolutely come back.

The weather was so perfect, we were barely in the house! But we slept well and loved the deck overlooking the canal. Rode the available bikes for some exercise. Great short trip!

House was exactly what we needed. House on canal, walking distance to beach access and short drive to pier access. Mattresses both rooms extremely comfortable and like home. Shower head nice and strong, unlike some places where they want to conserve water. Fully equipped kitchen. Unknown to owner, someone broke blender container and owner told me to feel free to buy one when we're out and he'd reimburse. We did and I received reimbursement within days. We will return.

The property was as advertised. It was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The host was great and took significant time with us when we had problems with the TV. Everything to expect was explained well before our trip. Two items to note, if a guest is over 6 ft they could have issues with the toilet being so close to the sink. Also, there was some wear and tear on the property, expected with a beach location. We would definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay. It's in a great location - a short walk, a block across the street from the beach and if you have a boat, there is a dock at the backdoor on the canal which is about 1/2 block from the Intracoastal Waterway. This was a short stay but next time we'll bring our boat! The unit is comfortable and homey & has a well stocked kitchen. Also, the beds are so comfortable. And it is reasonably priced. Thank you.

it’s a duplex and the owners were downstairs using the house at the same time. Using the dock, had their dog out around the yard, and their boat in the front yard and in the back, blocking the water view. There were dog droppings throughout the backyard. (the listing was a no-dog house) The first day the owners were in the bottom unit and their friends blocked our cars. We had to ask them to move the cars for us to leave. The owner had a fight with his boat mechanic using profanity. The owners had a loud party beneath us the first night. A total stranger knocked on our door late afternoon to ask if a crab pot was still in the kitchen from a party, they had there the night before. All that could possibly be overlooked but inside we encounter a constant reminder that we were intruders in someone else’s home. There are 20-30 personal family frames all over the house. No space to speak of for our items due to the amount of personal Knick knacks scattered around the furniture. Which was mostly broken, damaged, or so old you could feel the springs when you sat. The closets have old sneakers and flip flops and a load of other personal items which made it difficult to put our stuff. The bed mattresses were lumpy and saggy. Not sure when the comforters were last washed but their aroma was not pleasing. When I checked out, I was shocked to discover that they wanted us to make the beds with the comforters so the beds would be made for the new owners. I believe we are still in a Covid stage where things are to be sanitized? The owner said he had the cheapest cleaning service on the island and they didn’t clean any of the bedding between guests. The house had a wet dog smell . They tried to cover it with a cheap plug-in air freshener which made it worse. The house cleanliness was below average so I ended up cleaning it before we even settled in. But the chipped kitchen floor, bathroom floor, and kitchen countertops made it hard to know what was dirt and what was just old. The carpet has seen better days and both the front and back decks are very questionable in terms of safety. The owner harassed us after we left. He badgered us about how our special needs child bothered him and his wife the first few nights there because he was talking to them and I should have told him before we rented the place that we had a special needs child?!! He said I should have told him before we rented that we had a special needs child.
