“A lovely holiday stay!
This is the second time that we have stayed at Whale Watch. The house is very spacious, clean and well maintained. It's only a short walking distance to the patrolled Malua Bay beach. The ocean view from the huge deck upstairs is fantastic! The kitchen is very well equipped with utensils, cookware, dinnerware, Nespresso coffee machine etc. Anne is super responsive and very easy to communicate with. Thank you so much Anne for another wonderful stay! We'll be back. Lan”.

At Whale Watch the ocean is close enough for you to hear the sea or smell the salt air.
Each year in late winter and spring, the waters off Eurobodalla's coastline become a busy place for humpback whales heading south from their northern breeding grounds to enjoy feeding in the Antarctic Ocean - many of our guests have experienced the beautiful sight of these whales from our expansive deck.
There's a spacious, very well equipped kitchen where you can look out to the ocean while preparing your meals. The family room upstairs (with large TV) is adjacent to the super-sized covered deck, equipped with a Weber Q and hammock and a 10-seater BBQ table and chairs. The north-eastern aspect is perfect in the morning to soak up the sun or at the end of the day evening drinks on the spacious deck is an ideal setting to watch the moon glistening on the waves.
A spacious bathroom upstairs invites you to enjoy a soaking bath; downstairs is another bathroom and laundry as well as a another family room with an additional TV and built-in CD player - so no squabbles over who watches the cricket or your favourite show.
We know what it's like to pack for a holiday if you have small children - Whale Watch provides (on request) a portacot or a free-standing cot, change table and high chair... and there's a reliable washing machine and convenient clothes line.
Opposite Whale Watch is a walkway to the clifftop - perfect for walking along to either the patrolled Malua Bay beach or beautiful McKenzies Beach. No need to take your car - Malua Bay beach is a 7 minute walk; McKenzies Beach just 10 minutes and when you get back to Whale Watch it has an outside shower to get rid of the sand. There is a great fishing, snorkelling or swimming spot three minutes down the road at Garden Bay. Finding a spot under the shady trees while you read a book or watch young children swim is so relaxing, safe and enjoyable.
The local Malua Bay shops are a 10 minute walk down the road, offering everything you need - grocery shop, liquor shop, great butcher, chemist, newsagency, restaurant and take away shop. Just a five minute car ride is the Malua Bay Bowling and Recreation Club - here you can meet up with the locals on a Friday night for the well-known meat raffles as well as enjoying the fun of the regular karaoke. The tempting menu from the restaurant inside the club provides a variety of food for all tastes. If you don't feel like driving, the club provides a free bus to pick you up and drop you back home.
Whale Watch is available for weekly rental and weekend getaways.
For weekend rentals arrival time is 2 pm Friday and departure is 10 am Sunday.
Malua Bay is located on the Eurobodalla Coast of NSW, about 15 km south of Batemans Bay; two hours drive from Canberra and approximately 15 minutes south of Batemans Bay. Great things to do while you're staying at Whale Watch
The beach at Malua Bay is very popular for its rocky headlands and excellent surf. The beach is patrolled during the summer and offers great surfing and swimming. A toilet and shower block is located on the beach along with a large grassy area with fun-filled playground amenities. McKenzies Beach is well-known for the local board surfers and has a magnificent stretch of sand that will entice any beach goer. Lovely house, fabulous stay
Stayed at Whale Watch again after many years away and what a pleasure! Anne's house is really comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully clean. It has plenty of lovely indoor and outdoor spaces (the deck is fantastic) so everyone could find a quiet place to relax. Great kitchen - we found everything we needed to make meals easy. And so close to our favourite beach! Thanks.

Stayed with family and some friends with our toddlers and had a wonderful stay. It was great to sit on the deck to have brekkie and walk to the beach which was close-by.

A great choice
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whale Watch. Beautiful views from the spacious deck, a very well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds made for an excellent home away from home. We had a very relaxing time, even when some days were not as sunny as others. Highly recommended!

Lovely spot and house
We had a great time in this lovely home in a convenient location. There is a great view of the sea from the deck. There are three great beaches within walking distance and even our 4 yr old could manage the walk most days.
The upstairs is very new and super comfy, but the downstairs has a few signs of wear and tear and the rooms are a bit small and so is the downstairs bathroom. There is no dryer which is great for the environment but annoying when you can’t dry beach towels on overcast days. These are all minor things and I would still totally recommend this property but this is why I didn’t give it 5 stars. And because the beaches are a bit further away than other properties we’ve had in the past.

Ideal holiday home
The layout and inclusions in this property suited us very well. We enjoyed having our meals on the balcony with views of the sea and the short cliff walk to the beach. The house proved perfect when our daughters and granddaughters visited us for a couple of days and enjoyed surfing and snorkelling nearby. We hope to stay again at this delightful house.

I want to live here
From the moment you see the view from the kitchen window you are hooked. The house is lovely with all the creature comforts. Beds are comfy. Living areas areas are functional and comfortable. Love the leather lounge. BBQ on the large verandah is wonderful. Excellent location for beaches and the IGA. The club around the corner has the best Chinese. This house has the whole package for a relaxing break from the everyday.

Perfect
This house has it all: views, location and style, without being 'over the top'. Yes, you can see the water from the expansive deck, and yes, you can actually walk to the beach. It's also peaceful. Great value for money.

Lovely holiday rental
Spent a couple of nights down there with the family, including my 2 year old son. They house was nice and clean and had a lovely outlook from the deck. It was robust enough to handle my boy and the local beaches were excellent (particularly the inlet at broulee)
