About this house rental
Your stay at this 4 Bedrooms, 4 Bath residence will be a vacation to remember! Driving through the gates and up the winding driveway all you see is the lush tropical landscaping until you come to the house where the property opens up to the waterfront. Over 200' of seawall with the pool set on the side of the home to take advantage of the views and the sunsets! The pier dock stretches out into the Gulf of Mexico and provides great dockage, if you don’t have a boat it is a great spot to fish or jump in and snorkel the shoreline. Please note the boat lift is not available for guest use.
Did I mention sunset? You can see the sun drop into the water or have fabulous sunset color from the living areas, balconies, screen porch, pool, spa and dock! Take your pick of a different location each evening! The oversized pool with an elevated hot tub, the dock is just icing on the cake!
The home has two levels connected by either the interior elevator or outside stairs. The upper level is where you will find the main living area with a fabulous kitchen that any cook should love! It overlooks the dining and living area so every one can share conversation. The living room seating area offers great entertainment via the big screen TV. and the windows and sliding glass doors overlook the open water which is always entertaining! The screen porch off the kitchen has a built-in grill island and steps down to the pool deck. There is a wraparound balcony that returns to the front of the house and has an open deck.
The master suite is on the 2nd floor off the kitchen and living area. It has a spacious private bath with a double sink vanity, large soaking that has jets and a walk-in shower. The master has a King size bed and TV. The guest bedroom on this level has a queen bed, TV and interior access to the hall bath which has a large walk-in shower so you could have two master suites.
The lower level has an expansive second living area with a sectional couch for big screen TV (85") viewing and pool table. Beautiful views out to the Gulf from this recreational area and direct access to the shoreline and dock. A second refrigerator serves as a beverage cooler, microwave for popcorn (movie time!) and a round dining table that works great for games or puzzles. Two guest bedrooms are also on this level, one with a Queen bed (and 32" TV) and one with 2 twin beds (and 48" TV). Two full baths on this floor (showers only no tubs) and a laundry room complete this level.

We have stayed in the keys for many years and this was hand down the best property we have ever stayed in. The house was beautiful, with brand new kitchen and tons of upgrades. Fabulous pool, dock with great fishing too! It was quiet and never felt crowded even with a big group. We will definitely stay there again. Only recommendation would be to add key pad to doors so we dont have to drive to the office. Cushions at the pool would be nice , but these are minor and in no way detract from how amazing it was

Overall impression - it was a gorgeous property. The shoreline, the water, the dock and the home were all perfect for our annual getaway. We rented a boat separately and parked it right at the dock for several nights with out trouble. There was small sharks, Tarpon and even lobsters to watch right off the dock thru crystal clear waters. The place itself was clean and well maintained, the pool and pool area was excellent!

This is the 4th home we've stayed in on Morton Street. LOVE this area and the home and outdoor area were beautiful! We had a group of 6 adults, all friends who travel together. Highly recommend Seaspell along with property manager Kitty Whalton.

The property was better in person than online! Loved everything about it EXCEPT didn't love having to drive several miles past the house to pick up a key. We arrived late at night and it would have been lovely if there had been a keypad lock on one of the doors so that we could roll up and get in.

The house is actually better than pictured. Enjoyed all the space inside & the outside spaces allowed us all to have a place to enjoy. Would like to come back. Only disappointment was that the hot tub doesn’t have jets and doesn’t heat to hot and would suggest they fix that but overall good experience

This is an absolutely beautiful place that is not well maintained. The exterior is very over grown & full of biting bugs that do not respond to bug spray so we all came home literally covered with bites. The enclosure was very dirty & also filled with the biting bugs. Paid to heat pool & the spa was not heating until it was found by pool person that it was turned off for most of our week. Wash anything that you want to cook or eat off of. Most things were dirty that we pulled out to use. Several of the lightbulbs were burnt out with lot's of replacements in the closet. Lots of junk in the yard that should be easily cleaned up. With just a little effort & some major bug control the place could be a great place to stay but as is. I would not recommend it.

Heaven in the Keys
This rental far exceeded our expectations! The location put us in close proximity with so many great local stores and restaurants, but the scenic views from the pool and the dock took our breath away. Our stay was with three families, and we had more than enough room so that we all had enough space to enjoy our time in the Keys. We were so happy with this choice as a rental, and all I could say is that this was heaven in the Keys. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Blissful Retreat
SeaSpell was a great place for our extended family to vacation together in The Keys. Located on Grassy Key, it is very central to anyplace you want to visit while you’re here. The pool and beach are beautiful and the breeze through the plentiful palm trees feels like the Caribbean. There are kayaks to enjoy and you could literally snorkel right off the dock. We saw parrot fish, Angel fish, barracuda and a nurse shark.
The layout of the house is a bit strange, with an elevator your only way between floors without exiting to the outside; however, with weather like we had, no one minded taking an extra walk out in the sunshine. Our only real complaints were In regards to the second bedroom on the 2nd level, which desperately needs a new mattress! and the fact that the cleaners had left a chunk of butter in the kitchen sink before our arrival, which attracted ants. There were also some lightbulbs out throughout the house, but nothing we couldn’t work through.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at SeaSpell and would definitely consider staying here again on another trip.

Beautiful Gulf Home for Families
We had a wonderful stay at the Sea Spell this past week. Our family had tons of room for sleeping and the outside pool and yard provided ample space for all activities. The grounds of the Sea Spell are beautiful and the sunsets are unmatched.

Absolutely perfect!!!
We had THE BEST stay at Sea Spell. The views are stunning. Fishing from the dock was fantastic. Wildlife at the dock was amazing. We saw dolphins, endless fish varieties, and a sea turtle came right to the dock several of our days there.
The pool and spa are UNBELIEVABLY nice as is the entire pool deck.
The house is unique and beautiful. It is appointed well and very comfortable. Stocked with everything you need.
Finally - Kitty is unmatched as far as property management goes. We have stayed at a lot of properties all over the country and her responsiveness, hospitality and friendliness were so appreciated. We felt like we made a new friend in the Keys upon meeting her :-)

Property is nothing short of a compound.. great family location, pool, hot tub( needs jets) pool table with separate downstairs apartment with small kitchen was a plus. The dock was great for kids and fishing off it, and just relaxing out on the bench watching sunset. All around great property and very private area.

Best Rental EVER!
Our family of 7 enjoyed an amazing week at this property. We are all adults with the exception of one 14 year old. We have stayed at several Vrbo properties and resorts and SeaSpell was by far our favorite. The home has everything you need. It was also close enough to Marathon that running for groceries was not an issue. It had a grill, all the kitchen items you need, pool floaties, billiards table, towels etc. The property is very private and secluded and the whole grounds is just stunning. We really enjoyed our time at the pool and dock the most. There are so many fish you can catch without even having to leave the property. We saw manatees, sharks, stingrays, and several other fish right from the dock. We did use the kayaks a few times to paddle around and check out more of the area. You can expect daily visits from a few lizards and a few pelicans. Plenty of space to keep everyone comfortable. If I had to say something negative about the property the only thing I would mention is the water pressure isn't great if someone plans on doing laundry. You cannot use the washing machine and plan on taking a shower or doing anything else at the same time. So plan accordingly. Also we did not receive instructions on how to use the pool / heat. It took me a few days to figure out the spa heats the pool. You need to warm the spa before turning on the spill feature to warm the pool. But all that said - NOTHING to complain about! We had a fantastic family vacation - if we are fortunate enough we would definitely rent this home again!! Kitty was super easy to work with. She was on top of everything - thank you Kitty!!

Beautiful sunset
We loved this property, the house had the amenities we wanted & the snorkeling from the wharf was amazing. The sunsets were spectacular & we spent a lot of time on the small veranda overlooking the water. With some kitchen updates & sweeping of outside stairs it would be even better. We normally stay in Islamorada but opted for the gulf front instead of location & were very happy with our choice. We will likely rent again.

Fantastic Getaway!
From the time you pull into the driveway, you feel like you are in a very private oasis. The foliage is beautiful!!
The house was super clean, and all the initial essentials were provided.
The views and sunsets were amazing! We loved the pool, hot tub, and also seeing the fish at night by the green light out from the dock.
Some of the furnishings could use a bit of updating, however none of this affected our ability to have a great time and enjoy the property. It was very relaxing and just what we needed. We are definitely looking to book again!

Love the location and the views. House was great but needs new mattresses and kitchen appliances. We paid to have the pool heated and that never really happened. It would heat for a few minutes and then cut off. Other than that, it was great! Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks, Rebecca

The property was beautiful. We fell in love. Location was perfect. All was surface clean & sparkling. Only suggestion is a 'deep' cleaning. The wood wall looks awesome till the sun shines on it....then u can see all the dust covering it. When in the master bedroom tub, u look up, & the ceiling fan has 2 inches of crud on it. Over all...it was perfect. Would highly recommend this property.

The home is situated in the absolute postcard picture perfect setting. Sunsets every night were a Godsend. Access to the water and the lighting at night made it easy for the kids to move from the dock fishing to right in the the big pool. The house could use some upgrades in appliances and furniture but worked well for our group. Would stay there again in a second

Great Family location, with plenty of room and privacy.
The overall place was great for family. You had plenty of privacy, a huge lot, plenty of parking, and we had a 25' boat trailer, and 4 vehicles. The pool was huge, and the hot tub was great. I rented the house, for size, but most of all for the sunsets. If you want to have an adult beverage, and watch one of the best sunsets ever, rent Sea Spell. The kitchen is a needs to be updated, but they have a wonderful grill, on the screen porch. We had a couple of problems, but Kitty came and took care of them very quickly with no interruptions to our trip. Thank You Kitty for all that You did, and Your help.

Location and ocean access
The location is great because it is centrally located to great restaurants, and the location allowed us to visit Key West and several beaches! We especially enjoyed the steps into the ocean, which made the kayaks easy to use and snorkeling convenient. The pool was great as the ocean was a little chilly due to the high winds we had during our visit. The living area was large enough for our group. The elevator made unloading our groceries much easier! We really enjoyed our stay!

Good location and sunsets but home and pool furniture need updates
For under $500.00 the owner could replace the mildewed and broken chaise lounge chairs by pool. The bedding in master bedroom was stained from hair oil and urine spots. The microwave was rusted on bottom. Two of the frig drawers are so broken they barely are useable. A lot of the tile on steps are broken and could be repaired. Just one week of rent would update the place to improve reviews.

Perfect setting
The view is spectacular from every angle of the home and property, but the large waterside pool - framed by palms with spacious seating for our large family - provided a private resort ambiance. The layout of the home offers comfort, all amenities, and an all day and night view of the water. It was the perfect setting for our family vacation.!

House was nicely equipped. The screened in space was wonderful for breakfasts and evening get together, the grill and 2 tables/chairs with plenty of seating. enjoyed the kayaks! Some of us got to see sea turtle and manatee come to visit at the dock. There were some fishing equipment but unfortunately the poles were broken - (not sure if they were left by other renters or property owners). The only dissatisfaction was the entry and screened in area was not clean. Had spilled areas from previous renters? that was not cleaned up and the entire floor/walkway was dirty ( maybe sweep and mop or pressure wash next time and the grill was dirty). The inside was all well cleaned!! Great week!

This property is private and has spectacular views.
The location, size, privacy and comfort of this property is wonderful. The home needs some maintenance and updates, especially in the kitchen. The oven and microwave are very old and need to be replaced, and the house and fabric furnishings need a deep cleaning. The pool, jacuzzi and dock are wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the screened porch. The bathroom remodels are very nice and are the type of updates this house needs.

Family Fun!!!!
The Brockington crowd loved this home, the house is beautiful, the grounds are truly tropical and the pool was great for cooling off. We all snorkeled off the dock and caught fish by the handful. Of the many trips we have made to The Keys this is best house yet.

Vacation 2020 is a wrap!
We had a really nice stay at Sea Spell on Grassy Key. It is beautifully landscaped, and large private property. The house is lovely and has a great view of the gulf. All of the pictures on the Vrbo website were accurate. If you have young children, I recommend this property because of the safety factor; the pool is fenced-in with latching gates, and is not directly connected to the exterior doors of the house. The upstairs screened-in porch has a staircase, which does have direct access to the pool, but there is a loud alarm on the screen door. There are no stairs inside the house; there is an elevator inside the house and a set of stairs on the outside. Again, this is a plus if you have toddlers or babies.
We did a little snorkeling and fishing off the dock while we were there. We didn't catch anything keepable, but it was fun. A couple of our family members were fascinated by the foliage on the property, and spent some time identifying what was growing. The pool and hot tub are both really nice, but if you're one to like cool water to swim in, don't go in July or August; the water was almost bath water temperature.
The beds were pretty comfortable, as was the living room furniture. The pillows, however, were not comfortable; so if you're particular about that, you might want to bring your own:-)
The ride into Marathon is about 10 minutes or so, depending on where you are going. The check in and check out process took place in Marathon, and was easier than any other time I've ever rented a property for vacation.
While there, we ate out several times; I can honestly say, all of the restaurants exceeded our expectations. Our favorites were: Keys Fisheries (outside only, but delish! And you can feed the fish), Key Colony Inn, Triton Seafood Restaurant (Italian) and Havana Jack's (short menu - more of a bar, but the food was great). We also ate at Mrs. Mac's in Key Largo on the way down. We went on a snorkeling trip through Captain Pip's; they were great! We also went to Theater of the Sea and ate at the Shrimp Shack afterward.

Your own private sunset
A large private property - you feels as if no one else is even near you. Nothing but ocean, palm trees and the famous sunset when you look from the upper deck or dock. Nice large pool and hot tub was great when we had a few cooler days (note there is an extra charge for pool heat but well worth it). House came supplied as stated and elevator a plus when you have elderly people. We had a large multi family group with people ranging from 20 to 84 years old and this house and the area had something for everyone. Sun, shade, kayaks, fishing off the dock, restaurants and shopping close by. The house and property could use some TLC but nothing that would distract from enjoying your stay. The most impressive asset of this house was the care and responsiveness of the Kitty Walton the property manager. Blender broken - her husband John came the next day with a nice new one, light bulb for outside blown - fixed the next day, needed more sheets for pull out - delivered in 2 hours! We always rent a different house every year and this one would be hard to top.

Beautiful views
This property has a wonderful location with a fantastic view. The pool and hot tub are awesome! Plenty of room for a large group. Loved the big screened in back deck. The house could use a little TLC It needs a good cleaning of the floors, baseboards and windows. The downstairs queen mattress needs to be replaced, very uncomfortable. It would have also been nice to have some decent cleaning supplies like a dust pan to go with the broom and a decent mop and vacuum. There was an ironing board but no iron. We did have a great time at Sea Spell.

Beautiful area with a wonderful view. Lots of sitting areas so you could find solitude from the group if you wanted a bit of alone time. Nice property with lots of plants and trees-surrounded by nature!
