This place was nothing like advertised. There was no interior walls or insulation except for kitchen and bath. You could see thru the walls and floor to outside. It was advertised as heat and AC included heat was two little space heaters which didn't keep up. Spiders and roaches everywhere. We suffered thru the worst 2 weeks of a planned 30 day visit with family to attend a planned wedding. We felt deceived between what the pics and description said and what we saw when we arrived. Starting with no gas for cooking to no water. The owners never checked things out for proper operation before our arrival. This was our first and probably last experience with VRBO

Our cabin, named the Alexis, is one of six 1930s-era lakeside cabins that belong to Bayview Farm in the hamlet of Charlotte VT (about 20 miles from Burlington to the north and Middlebury to the south). From the screened porch of the Alexis cabin, perched on a promontory above the lake, nothing stands in the way of the shimmering waters of Lake Champlain, dotted with the occasional sailboat or stand-up paddle boat skimming quietly by. There is no more peaceful setting in the world for al fresco dining! The cabin itself is rustic 1930s vintage, with many windows for airiness, and modern kitchen and bath appliances (except for the shower which is basic but comes with plenty of hot water). There is a recent-model TV with all the Roku options, and wifi is provided, so contemporary connectivity is available at the click of a remote (should you want it). A staircase leads down from one side of the cabin to a private swimming area which requires a certain degree of agility to enjoy, though we, in our very late middle-age, did manage it. There is also a more typical wade-in beach in the common-area of the complex, but you must have swim shoes to use it comfortably. We did most of our swimming at the very beautiful Kingsland State Park beach, a 15-minute drive away.) For us, though, swimming was not as important as peace and beauty, both of which we found in abundance, thanks to Suzanne and her husband, owners of Bayview Farm who have preserved the rustic "campground" and are helpful and kind hosts.

Overall, we had a very nice week-long stay (7 nights and 8 days). It's a perfect area for 2 people. The access to kayaks, canoes, the paddleboat, paddleboards, fishing poles, etc. is amazing and enhanced our visit, as we had a chance to relax on the lake. The cabin itself is cozy and warm and offers and incredible view of Lake Champlain- it's right on the water! We also enjoyed the included Netflix and wifi. Cleanliness could be slightly improved in terms of dust and paint, and although the screened porch kept most of the insects and mosquitos away, we did notice an increased amount of insects near and inside the cabin after rain. The owner was extremely nice and responsive to any questions we had.
