Wow what an amazing property, pool and the location. It was just perfect for us. The owner is very kind and welcoming and allowed us to charge our Tesla EV in her garage, which made a big difference as we didn’t need to factor in stops to charge on day trips. Despite the pool not being heated, the hot weather meant the pool was warm enough after the initial plunge. Our kids spent hours in the pool. The property is a 7km/10mins drive to Les Vans which has a couple of big supermarkets and loads of great affordable restaurants, so you need to factor in you will need a car to access shops as there are no shops within realistic walking distance. Food is cheaper than the UK and local fruit and veg. quality is amazing. There were 2 markets in Les Vans during our stay, one on Tuesday night and Saturday day, both were packed with sellers offering local produce and well worth a visit. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. There were very few other English tourists, so this a very much a secret French getaway destination, but everyone we spoke to had some english language skills, that were generally better that our school days French, so we had not problem ordering in restaurants etc. As there were only 5 of us, so we were not given access to all the bedrooms as shown the photos, so we had to use the attic bedroom which has very low roof beams and gets very warm at night. The single AC unit in the living room worked great for the 2 bedrooms on that floor, but didn’t cool this attic room at all. We had to close all the windows otherwise monster hornets would fly in during the evening. I would suggest adding insect/mosquito nets to the a few of the windows then the villa would stay cool naturally. The only thing that was really let us down was the abysmal WiFi which was advertised as 50/50Mbps, which it clearly isn’t. We measured a mere 1.25Mbp/s download and only 0.5Mbp/s upload which coupled with very poor location of the access point by the front door, resulted in very little signal in the main parts of the house and nothing in the bedrooms. This meant we had to use our 4G mobile data plans which also had a pretty poor signal, so we struggled with Internet connectivity during our stay. The 50/50Mb/s Wi-Fi is simply not true and should be changed in the advert as it’s one of the key reasons we booked this property. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we may go back again, but I will bringing my Starlink Internet dish with me next trip.

Lovely large house located nearby the river with a beautiful view on the hills. Ideal for swimming and jumping in the water. Kitchen has all tools, but note that it is on the first floor, so you have to bring the meals downstairs. Daniela was very kind and we could also use the kitchen next to the terrace. We had a very nice holiday and also loved the local market in Le Vans in the evening.
