Overall a great stay, access to the beach and ocean view was amazing. The location can’t be beat. Pool table was in tough shape which was a disappointment. Overall would stay again.

The Lazy Lizard was an overall lovely stay for our family (17 people). The location was central to anything needed, the beach access was perfect, and you can’t beat a fire pit. There is some room for improvement in general cleanliness (rug stains, etc.), modernization (out of date furnitures in all bedrooms make it feel dated, and communication with the agency was poor. The only true downside was for those who want to rest while others ‘play’ as the noise travels from the game room area all the way to the 3rd floor.

Lazy Lizard is in the perfect location to walk and bike to restaurants and ice cream shops. Also, with the pool and right on the ocean you don't ever really need to leave! The house has all the amenities you need; plenty of bedrooms & bathrooms, double washer & dryer, dishwasher, grills etc.. It is a quirky 80's decor but it is a fun place to vacation.

Property manager was responsive to any questions we had while on the trip to make sure our stay was great.
Property was great and as advertised. Heated pool, hot tub, direct beach access. Plus the house was walkable to multiple bars, restaurants, and groceries which made the weekend even better.
Property was actually ready ahead of schedule but due to a tech issue we couldn't get in until right at scheduled check-in time.
All in all next time we're back in OBX we'd definitely look at coming back!

First time at the OBX, family of 6 adults. Loved this place, amazing location. Pool was way too cold to use but hot tub was lovely and warm ❤️
Our tiny pups were in heaven, lots of beautiful beach walks and long runs ( 5k every morning) on the pavement that runs along the front of the house.
There were a couple of issues (house keeping) but they were resolved almost immediately with instant communication with the rental company.
Super friendly town, we shall be back 😍

We had an overall great trip to the Outer Banks. We come to the outer banks 2-3 weeks a year. First stay in Nags Head. Over all the home was suitable. The home was under contract to close so it looked as if the previous owner cleaned out the kitchen. We had to make several purchases in order to cook and most of the pots and pans were unusable. And there were roaches in many locations of the home which was kind of a cleanliness concern. The pool was very nice and the hot tub was clean. Hot tub jets do not operate either. This home needs a complete overhaul. Thanks for letting us enjoy this homes location and space.

The view was spectacular! We took a last minute trip and beach realty worked with us and were awesome. The house is huge. It is decorated kind of spanish. I'm sure it is hard to clean a house that big. I've been in cleaner houses. The kitchen cabinets are a bit outdated and there wasn't alot of cookware for a house that big.
There were mushrooms growing from the corner in the bedroom I stayed in. The last few days we did see alot of bugs and some cockroaches. Luckily it didn't bother us much as most of our time was spent outdoors.
I want to thank beach realty and the owners for booking with us last minute. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

The house was the right size and location for our large group and 2 pets. The house is in need of a good bit of TLC. Several things were broken (advised the rental company, they came and noted they would be fixed in 24-48 hours and we never heard from them again). It could be that it's the end of the season and the house had been well used all summer but, given we paid full price for "shoulder season", we expected more. Several windows were in disrepair, broken tile, dryers took hours to finish a load and the AC never got the house below 75 degrees.

We were there at the very end of the season. Cleaning was average at best, really in need of a thorough spring clean. The house was showing quite a bit of wear and tear, but again, it was end of season. My biggest disappointment was the pool. I had contacted the rental company a week prior to arrival time to remind them we had paid to have pool heated, and would they please follow up with that, as a heated pool was a big thing for us. We got there and the pool was 60 degrees. They sent pool guy out Sun am, but it was not til late in the day Sunday that it was warm enough to use. Then after it was serviced mid week, the heater stopped working and we needed maintenance again. maintenance was very responsive, but we were 2 days out of 7 without the pool.

We chose the Lazy Lizard based on its proximity to friends getting married next door. The house was spacious and had amenities that supported our enjoyment of the stay. However, the house itself is in need of both renovation and maintenance. Things like cabinets, appliances, and bedding showed clear signs of significant use (like holes in the bedding). Additionally, we had several maintenance issues with the home that were called in: a master shower that was slow to drain (never fixed), a stove that was missing a burner pan (fixed), a stove burner whose heating element needed to be replaced (maintenance came out, but part had to be ordered). The biggest problems were with water damage. On the 2nd day of heavy rain, we awoke to water dripping through the lower level ceiling which was coming through the second floor slider from the balcony. While someone came out and was looking at the exterior, this was a huge issue, and we had to put a bucket out to catch the dripping water. Further, the master bathroom ceiling had clear water damage and possible mold from not being addressed. Finally, many of the sliding doors were not closing properly which likely were leading to some of the issues with water entrance to the house. Wish the house would have also had some cleaning conveniences, like a garbage disposal or even just a broom! We looked all over for a broom and never found one. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the condition of the house considering the price we paid out of season.

We have stayed in Nags Head many times, but never in such a large/expensive house. I saw after we had signed our lease that the price to rent had been reduced, and that is definitely appropriate. It is just not nice enough to be considered "luxury" accommodations.The couched are old and have cigarette burns in the cushions. The bedspreads are cheap, old and polyester.The wine glasses are all plastic.There is mildew stains in the master bath shower. Chipping old paint throughout.I requested that the hot tub and pool be cleaned on wednesday. I called again on thursday. No one came even on friday. We have a hot tub and pool at home and both are cleaned more than once a week...especially if there will be an additional influx of guests enjoying the water. Lots of steps to consider if there are elderly members of your group.Path to the beach would be nice, sand gets really hot.The Lucky 12 bar across the street is great!

To start with, we paid $500.00usd for the pool to be heated and it was not even clean or the filter system was not even working when we arrived. We could tell that the pool had been serviced that day, as there was 2 chlorine tablets and the pool was shocked, that is the extent of the pool being serviced upon our arrival. The switch for the heater was not even on and once it was turned on, the read out on the heater showed call fro service. We called and emailed to report that and a few other issues and they said they were sending someone and no one ever came to our house to look into the issues. There sand all over every deck and pool area, as well as inside on the ground floor(we understand about the storm the prior week).When I called about the heated pool, they did not even realize that we had paid the $500.00usd for the heated pool. We loved the house last time we stayed and this time, not so much.

House needs some repairs.ledges on windows are broken seam tape falling from ceiling, kitchen could have some more bowls and better pans and some measuring cups to cook with and a better stove burners are shot and ice maker near wet bar does not work,bath towels seen better days, ceiling fan very dirty in main living room,top level of house is cool but bottom 2 levels are very warm and can not open the windows for airflow on those levels and some rooms did not have ceiling fans so very warm to try to sleep. carpet needs replace in master room downstairs it smells very musty. so with a few minor upgrades a nice place to stay at. need to watch your stuff we had an 800 rc car stolen from the car port which put a sad time in our vacation. Someday that person will pay for stealing! Nice girls at the reality office!!!!

Overall our stay was excellent. House was in great shape and distance to the beach is great - less than 200 feet. The relief area for our dog was a great benefit and easy to let the dog go and do its business. We had a minor issue with the electric can opener not working but received a new one the next day. A couple of the bathroom fans were not working but not an issue for us but we did report it for future repair. Location is fantastic and would definitely rent this house again. Only disconnect was with perceived free day access to Jeanette fishing pier. This was not provided and Beach Realty said owner made no provisions for this to be provided. Other than that, all was as advertised and we had an excellent stay. Great house for a large group of family or friends and very dog friendly with a fantastic central location on the outer banks. Within approximately an hour of both Cape Hatteras and Corolla and easy access to Roanoke Island.

To make a long story short beware of Beach Realty & Construction Rentals. They are very quick to take your money but good luck getting them to call you or help you when there is a problem. My family and I including a 5 month old that is dependent on stored milk from a bottle went the entire week without a refrigerator in the kitchen. The fridge was broken upon arrival and was replaced the day we were leaving. We got the run around the entire time from the management company. They never once called me, I always had to call them to find out the status of the repair men. They fed me lies and empty promises the entire time. I have been recently emailing the General Manager Jason Ward and he is just as bad as all of the employees in the office and the property manager was useless never even apologizing for there mistakes. The only response I got from Jason was that he would look into the complaint and get back to me the next day which was over a week ago. The property itself was lacking maintenance in many areas and also didn't include a few amenities they advertised the property having. Renters beware! I will never rent from this company again and neither should you...

Each year we take one trip with our extended family. This year we decided to try something new. We paid the full asking price for this rental, which is steep for our blue collar family, and stayed for a week in August, 2015. When we arrived the home didn't feel clean. It felt like a cheap hotel. The staff had not thoroughly cleaned our rental. The bedding was old. Several items did not work (dishwasher, remotes, ceiling fans, jets in tub and pool heater are among the items) We had repair people in and out of the rental while we were there. When we requested compensation for the long list of items that were wrong, the rental company could only offer to make good on our next stay. That would be wonderful, but my uncle who helped pay for the trip is suffering from prostate cancer and LGL leukemis and will not be able to make a repeat trip. Would it have been too much to compensate? The beach and surrounding area was great. We enjoyed touring the area, and we did appreciate the access to the beach from the home. We will never use this rental company again, or stay here. As a family we have been taught to make good on our wrongs. If they don't want to put the money into the home to repair and replace bedding and other items, then they should be willing to compensate. Thumbs Down On This One

Sofa fabric very stained/1 previously broken sofa leg was repaired same day that we reported it. Things we wish were there: waste cans in bathrooms/bedrooms/ fans/ vegetable peeler/more flat baking pans/additional stove and a broom! Loved the hot tub but pool was cold. Family enjoyed volleyball, pool table and other games provided with the property. All in all we had a great time and would rent again .

The place was clean and neat. It was easy to find. It was big enough for the whole family. The worst part was no able to use the swimming pool. They said it would be around 10 degrees higher than the air but wasn't and it cost an extra $350.00 to heat what?

Our family was looking for a fun oceanfront spot to spend a quiet spring break week. It was our first trip to Nags Head and the Lazy Lizard grabbed our attention. Boy did it live up to our expectations! It's a beautiful, colorful house that couldn't be closer the beach. We loved the hot tub, fuss ball table, and gorgeous ever changing views from the third story windows. We even took a quick polar plunge in the pool in March! It's is a great location, directly across from a yummy tavern called Lucky 12 (amazing fried local oysters) and the most delicious fro-yo at Surfin' Spoon. But the proximity to the beach made it--we'd love to return some day!
