This was a great place to stay! Great location and house was great! The only thing I would recommend is a railing on porch to climb up the steps. When it is snowy it would help. I would rent this house again!

For a ski weekend with me and my brother’s family, we needed a house close to the mountain that was big enough for our 2 families. This house fit both needs. The host, Tracey, was very communicative. Check in and out was a breeze.

Apologies for the review. thank you for your generosity and please do not take the following as written in anger for it is not.
We have checked out of this Hunter property one day early. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to the conditions in the home were not as described on the VRBO website
1. The home was unclean with dust everywhere and bathrooms were less sanitary than a dormitory- upon arrival.
2. My son before entering his twin bed last night discovered a blood stain mid way down the bed. My wife and female cousin both agreed this looks to have been due to a heavy menstrual flow by a previous guest. As there were no other sheets. He placed 1 of the only 8 towels available over this spot to sleep.
3. Only 8 towels available for a home advertised to sleep 10
4. Every room with a bed had a decorative pillow and only a decorative pillow to lay your head on.
Only 1 room in the attic had sheeted pillows.
5. The beds only had a mattress sheet and no other top sheet. We had to sleep with blankets which were covered in pet hair and smelled of mildew
6. Pet hair everywhere. Clothes covered in pet hair as if we were the pet owners and this was from simply sitting on the couches to watch TV.
7. Finally the couches. Upon lifting each of the couch cushions it was evident whomever is cleaning the home for you is not doing so adequately. The couches were filled with food, stains, wet spots, grime.
I sincerely apologize but this home was the #1 worst rental we have ever stayed in. It is in dire need of some TLC.
Thus we had to cut our trip short because our family was unable to bear through the unpleasant accommodations.

Peaceful home in Idyllic Hunter
The home comfortably accommodated our family of 5. Plenty to do in and around Hunter Village. Simple check in - check out procedures. Cleanliness leves something to be desired. Full ashtray welcomed us on front porch, pet hair on furniture/blankets, under couch littered with all sorts of stuff, etc...

Location is everything
Cozy little home, less than a mile from hunter mountain. Group of 8 stayed there. All adults. Communication with the owner was excellent, she was very accommodating which we appreciated. Seems that the property though is managed by a company, not sure what they do, other than collect the payment as the driveway and walks, etc. could have been shoveled better. The home is cozy and has a lot of character. Relatively clean. No dishwasher in kitchen, but has washer and dryer. Kitchen is a decent size but lacks counter space. Kitchen table has room for 8 but kitchen becomes tight when table is pushed out from wall and in use. Kitchen has everything you need (pots, pans, coffeemaker, etc.). A few little quirks to note so you can plan. Hot water heater must be small as it goes through water quick, so plan your showers accordingly. there are not a lot of outlets in the house (exactly one in the queen bedroom which was old and plug barely stayed in the outlet). Charging multiple electronics, running hair dryers, and dryers for ski boots can be an issue. Would have been nice to have a propane grill, charcoal ones available, but we didn't use since we didn't want to wait for the grill to heat up. Kitchen has been updated, new floor, new appliances, etc., bathrooms although functional could use a fresh look. Plan on packing out your trash/recyclables or pay a small fee to have them disposed of after you leave. we took ours with it. Personally I would just roll the garbage fee into the rent and not have the guests deal with it.
Great deck out back and large front porch. We would stay there again in the winter, and are thinking about using it during the summer for some of the festivals, but we now know what to expect.

Overpriced and outdated. Close location to hunter mountain and many hikes.
Welcome to grandmas house. The photos are a bit deceiving— they make the house look nicer than it is.
The owner was well communicative and the location is very close to Hunter Mountain. This house is best suited for people staying with a large group on a budget.

This was exactly what we were looking for
Cozy little house, extremely close to the mountain, local restaurants and about 1 mile from Tannersville. We went up for a few days of R & R. The house as cozy, and perfect for my family and our kids

We had fun but the house was very disappointing for the price . Everything was falling apart.
Most disappointing thing was that it looked like it was in the woods but it was on the main road and condition of the house was bad . Doors were old and getting stuck , door knobs were loose . We were afraid to touch anything.

Excellent location but old and dated
The booking of the property was very easy and we were informed by the owner/manager about details of the property and how to gain access. The location of the house is excellent but interior, linen, and furnishings of the bedrooms and living rooms were very old and dated. The kitchen was excellent, well equipped and clean. The deck , yard and parking were very useful. The owner/manager was helpful and communicated well ahead of our arrival for access. We are a family of five and had a small baby and the space was sufficient for us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the house despite bad weather.

Tracey was very responsive and easy to coordinate with ! Thanks for a great time.
We had a great time for a family getaway over Memorial Day weekend. The deck, backyard and stream were the highlight. Our family and the kids has a blast playing and relaxing outdoors over the whole weekend. The Wii was a big hit for the one rainy day!

Beautiful home, perfect location, and incredible experience!!!
My friends and I rented this property for a long weekend to attend Hunter Mountain's Oktoberfest. The house is a 10 minute walk to Hunter Mountain and a 5 minute walk to the local convenience store. Not only was the house better than advertised, but the owner Tracey was quick to respond to any of our questions or concerns. I would highly recommend this rental, and cannot wait to visit again!

Great vacation spot!
The home is situated right behind Hunter Mountain, which gave us a magnificent view. The home was neat, clean and had all the amenities that we needed. The large back porch, sprawling lawn, fire pit, and brook in the backyard were very much enjoyed by all!

Cozy inside and stunning outside
We booked this property on the day of arrival. Even with such late notice Tracey was extremely accommodating and managed to get the grass cut and the house cleaned on such short notice. She was available and very nice throughout and made sure we were fully satisfied.
The location is really stunning. It's on the highway but traffic is pretty quiet. There are beautiful mountain views in front and behind the house with a river flowing right behind it. The large porch and backyard were very relaxing. We ate all meals outside as there was much more room outside than in the kitchen. With all the bedrooms and extra beds we managed to fit in 10 adults and kids but the kitchen only fits 6 people maximum. We just moved the kitchen table onto the porch and together with the porch table had more than enough room for everyone. There is no A/C so the house gets a bit warm mid-afternoon but there are fans available for every window which cool the house pretty quickly as the sun gets lower. There are toys, games, movies and books to keep everyone happy. Right across the street is a park with really good equipment and Hunter Mountain is just a few minutes walk where there is also a lake with a beach.

One of our best vacations yet!!
This charming 6 bedroom clean, bright, nicely decorated home is fully stocked with everything you need for a wonderful family vacation. The view of Hunter Mountain, fire pit and sunsets by the river in the spacious backyard were amazing. A short walk to the watering hole made for refreshing fun for the kids. Just minutes away from everything make this homes location a true winner! Be sure to take the 5 minute ride to the quaint town of Tannersville and just a little further up the road to North/South Lake for hiking, fishing, peace and tranquility. We can't thank the owners enough, there was nothing missing....The Cullinane Family will absolutely be renting this lovely home again!! Thank you Tracey & Tom

Hunter Vacation
I rented this property from 1/25-1/27 for a ski trip with friends. Excellent stay! I have rented several other properties in Hunter & I must say this one was the absolute best. As far as location, & the clean well maintained condition of the house, this blows other rental properties away. The owner Tracey was extremely easy to work with & was helpful with any questions. I am looking forward to another trip next year! A must recommend to friends/family. -Nkosi

All American Weekend
Amazing long weekend spent with nine "old" friends. There was PLENTY of room. My bed was very comfortable and three bathrooms meant not having to wait! A stocked kitchen and charcoal barbecue allowed for delicious meals; two refrigerators allowed for refreshing drinks. The location was convenient and the view from the very large yard was breathtaking! We swam in the swimming hole a short walk away and star gazed all night long by the fire pit. The Sky Ride entrance was nearby and brought (most of) us to heaven on Earth. As an added bonus, we were able to view the local fireworks from across the street! This rental provided local convenience and the privacy made us feel like we owned the mountain. And this was "off season"! Maybe I can get up my nerve to Zipline next time!

Superbowl Weekend at Hunter Mountain
We recently rented this property over Superbowl weekend of Feb 3-6, 2012. We wanted to be close to the slopes to snowboard and ski, and be able to house 12-15 people comfortably- and this house was able to accomodate all of that and more. The location was incredibly close (The entrance to Hunter Mtn was about a min drive away) and yet, having the view of Hunter Mtn and the back porch/ backyard with a fire pit made it seem private and intimate. The house is on Main St very close to shops/ restaurants and even just less than 10 min drive from the quiant town of Tannersville. The house itself is clean and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the rooms had that distinct mountain cabin feel. The kitchen was well-equipped with cooking equipment, appliances. The table is small but most of us were in and out of the slopes/exploring the area so it was good that there was no need to seat more than 6 people at a time. It was great that the house had 3 clean and well-stocked bathrooms between all the people that we had. The living area is on the small side but seating was ample, and the TV with cable was a great amenity to have especially because we all wanted to watch the Superbowl by stimulating watching the game "at home" with our closest friends. This was the perfect house to accomodate our wants/needs for a ski weekend but I'd imagine it also be perfect any season with all the activities you're able to do so close - hiking, biking, exploring the towns... and have a relaxing retreat to come home and play board games (the house has tons of them waiting to be enjoyed) and the back porch/ backyard star- gazing/ having friends around the fire pit. Best of all, the owner Tracey was wonderful to work with. She was very thoughtful , and all our correspondences and questions asked were answered promptly, and the contract and deposits were taken care of in a very timely manner. Thank you on behalf of all of us for the wonderful memories we have accumulated from sharing your home with us - from family breakfasts/baking in the kitchen to game nights and smore- making in the fire pit. We had a wonderful stay! :)
