You cannot beat the location in Cherry Grove Beach! Great views from the decks. Just a short walk to the beach from the public beach access which is located right beside the home. Pictures are deceiving because they show a walkway right from the house but it is half broken and looks like half was taken down and they now have caution tape up. An updated picture would be a better representation. The cleanliness of this house was terrible. So bad that my 18 year old nephew said the house he stayed in for his senior trip was cleaner than this beach house. We overlooked the dirty bathrooms, refrigerators, and very sandy floors because ultimately we were there to spend time with family and make memories hanging at the beach…and that was very successful!

We arrived to the house and every floor was covered in a film of sand. The house had not been cleaned, it was disgusting. We were traveling with kids, and one of them was a 12 month old that stuck her hand in liquid raid that had been spilled and left in the bedroom corner. Ant traps were thrown everywhere, there was trash and toenail clippings under the beds, stains and hair on the mattress pad covers, and the tubs were not cleaned. We immediately called for a re-clean and the two women that arrived to clean were extremely rude. We then called back again for someone else to come back. We took our shoes off at the door and the bottoms of our feet we’re black. The air conditioning in the room our 12 month old was sleeping in did not work. We turned the ceiling fan on, and it nearly fell out of the ceiling. We had to then call the rental company again and they sent someone out to replace the fan and change the air filter in the air conditioner unit which looked like it had not been changed in 2 years. These are things that need to be maintained and fixed prior to guests coming, paying, and staying in this house. Instead, this took up two entire days on vacation. Both ice machines were broke, so after repeated calls, and two days of no ice, someone came out to fix these. Before our arrival we read the review from previous guests that had a very similar experience. In this review they stated that their ice machines had been broke too. My husband took the time to call the rental company to make sure the ice machines had been fixed. He was told this had been taken care of along with all of the other complaints. The arcade machine in the game room was broke the entire time we were there. We called repeatedly to have this fixed since we had multiple kids that were so excited to use it. I spend the first three days of my family vacation on the phone repeatedly with the rental company. This house is a great location and if it was properly taken care of, it would be a great place to stay. We are hoping to make this a annual trip, but will never stay in this property again. For the amount of money that was spent in this “luxury house”, the house should be spotless and well maintained. I will say that the customer service department at Elliot Rental was very professional and understanding with every call and complaint. They were fantastic, but their property was not.

The elevator didn’t work right from day one. We called immediately to report it as people were stuck in it between floors or you couldn’t get the door open on the first floor. We had several people that couldn’t negotiate stairs for health issues and my 89 year old father. We also reported the ice makers in both refrigerators multiple times. They replaced the unit in one. But that didn’t fix the problem. They came back out again & tried to fix it. Said they replaced the unit again. Still no ice. We just had to buy ice every day. By Thursday we gave up. They had been out to fix the elevator too, but after it quit working completely they had to come out again. They told us they really should shut it down completely. I had to call the property manager Every. Single. Day. except Tuesday, so it was not a relaxing time for me. I was also dealing directly with the elevator company too. Multiple calls to them as well. If this is considered a luxury rental, why do they only give one towel per person for the whole week??!! Really? There were not enough sheets for the sleeper sofas. Not enough pillows again if you used the sofas. If we had known about the linen & bedding issues we would’ve brought our own. WiFi only works on 1st floor. Dryer didn’t work right. Took an hour to dry even a small load. The floors were very dirty. The first day we were there our feet were black on the bottom and we had not been outside yet! I probably wouldn’t have listed all of the issues (and there are a few I didn’t mention) but I’m still waiting for a callback from Elliott Realty regarding restitution for all of the elevator problems. We will not go back there.

I'm not happy about the window breaking and blowing into our bedroom and having to put it back by ourselves at 5:00 in the morning. When I finally called the property managers they ordered someone to come and fix it but no one ever called us back and offered any other amenities for our troubles. The window breaking could have severely hurt my husband or I. I had anxiety near the windows the rest of the trip And I was afraid To sleep in our master bedroom after that
