About this house rental
Welcome to a wonderful beachfront home with breathtaking views and direct access to the shores of Lake Tahoe, located in the private neighborhood of Marla Bay in Zephyr Cove, Nevada. Homes don't get closer than this to the beach!
Enjoy the pure tranquility with up to 75 feet of your own beach frontage during a low-level lake season. Projecting the nostalgia of a classic cabin home from childhood or something from the movies, this is the perfect home for a year-round vacation. The beautiful wood walls and beams enhance the main level; large living room windows allow you to enjoy the sunrise and sunset over the Sierra Mountains and Lake Tahoe’s west shoreline. Use the large grass lawn for outdoor activities in the summer months or epic snowball fights in the winter months.
Walk in the door to a spacious and open beam living room and dining room space. The dining room table seats 10 people and is perfect for large dinners and makes for a great game table. Relax on the large deck that overlooks Lake Tahoe. The deck has a dining set and Adirondack chairs to soak up the Tahoe air. Stairs lead from the deck to a terrace with patio table, umbrella and chairs, the lawn, and the beach. The deck also offers direct access to the king-size bedroom with shower bathroom. The well-appointed kitchen has plenty of counter space for multiple people to prepare meals. It leads to the laundry room, a shower bathroom, and a queen bedroom with access to the front stone patio. The main level also includes a small family room with a 47-inch flat screen television and sleeper sofa. Upstairs you’ll find a lakefront queen bedroom and another bedroom with two queen beds. Between the two rooms is a full bathroom with tub. There is an additional queen bedroom with an attached bathroom that is available in the summer months, accessed by outdoor stairs to the left of the front door.
In addition to postcard views of Lake Tahoe, amenities include snow removal (parking area and entrance sidewalk), laundry room with full capacity washer and dryer, a quiet desk space for working, and a strong WIFI connection, which is especially great for those having to work during their getaway. You can’t beat the location of this shoreline home with privacy and direct lake access year-round, a seven-minute drive to downtown casinos, nightlife, shopping, and Heavenly Village, and a short drive to Heavenly Ski Resort in Nevada and California.
We DO NOT allow large events or parties. There is a strict parking maximum of three vehicles in the driveway. Street parking is prohibited by Marla Bay fire safety regulations and violators will be ticketed or towed. Please respect our neighbors and the Marla Bay Community. Please do not inquire if you are looking for a place for a bachelor or bachelorette party, wedding reception, etc.
Please note:
From approximately mid-October to mid-April, the fifth bedroom and fourth bathroom will be unavailable due to insulation concerns related to frozen pipes. The 5th bedroom is accessed by outdoor stairs to the left of the front door.
The great room includes a charming indoor gas fireplace, while the outdoor fireplace is currently UNAVAILABLE for use.
Disclosure: Water levels fluctuate throughout the year and vary annually based on winter snow fall. Photos of the beach were taken in 2017 when there was a low water level allowing for more beach access. Please be mindful that there may be less beach during your stay.

Great spot for family and very kid friendly

This home is in a great location with a great view. The listing says it is a five-bedroom but it’s not! The one “bedroom” has a very old small pull out bed that is broken with an “mattress” that is not usable. One of the toilets is broken and the outdoor fireplace is also broken. It is clear the owners have not put a penny into this home in decades. It’s too bad because the place could be charming with a little investment. For the price it was not worth it!

My siblings and spouses take a trip together every summer and this year decided to go to Lake Tahoe. There are 10 of us, and our accommodations are very important to us for our week long stay. This property was absolutely perfect for us!!! The kitchen was so well stocked, the bedrooms were exactly what we needed, and the outdoor patio was wonderful. We spent many hours playing games, talking, and enjoying the breaking views. We would all highly recommend this beautiful cabin with its history and personality above any modern, impersonal property on the lake.

I’m not sure that there’s a better view of Lake Tahoe than the one that we had. The location is perfect. The access directly to the lake is breathtaking. The cabin could deal with some updating other than that it was great.

Great location, but house a bit outdated.
Overall, a great experience! Beautiful location right next to Zephyr Cove and close to stores and Heavenly Resort. The house is a bit outdated and could use some love. The floors creaked and the locks are loud, so bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. Communication with the rental company was good.

Wonderful family vacation home
Once you arrive you will never need to or want to leave! The kitchen is complete with every appliance. We used the kayaks and paddle board every day! We enjoyed dinners on the spacious deck while watching glorious sunsets. ! You can’t get any closer to the lake! After a day on the sandy beach our family also enjoyed strolling through this friendly family neighborhood.

Great old Tahoe cabin
Cabin is classic Tahoe. Great location on lake and neighborhood is quiet & is amongst mature trees. Ample rooms, small bathrooms. Large kitchen, large dining table, open living room. Beautiful view, large patio, green adjacent lawn., large lot, feels spacious in & out. Easy access for kayak on beach & lake. Beautiful sunsets from deck.

It’s ok
The place I guess is what it says. The furniture needs to be updated. The lighting needs to be updated.
I realize the beach in front is out of control
Of owner but they should have let us know there was no beach due to high water.
You could only use the towel
On the bed or they would charge extra. It was just odd.
The view was nice. The home was clean. The manager was amazing and helpful. Just needed a makeover. I do like that the home is older but the furniture and lighting were terrible.

Beautiful spot
Older home with an unbelievably beautiful view on the lake. The home is rustic but spacious, and the kitchen is well-stocked. The home was clean. We loved our time there and would certainly stay there again. The property manager responded promptly to questions and was very helpful. Do yourself a favor and stay here; it’s so beautiful.

Perfect place for fun family relaxation.
This house was the perfect location for our party. The house is older and has lots of cool quirks about it. The kitchen is large and was great to cook in, very well stocked. The deck and the cool raised lawn and sitting areas in the yard were great to relax and play games on. We took the kayaks and paddle board out, there are lifevests available to use. Make sure to have the lifevest with you, someone in our party got a $90 fine for not having while out on the water. This house is classic Tahoe! We will most likely stay here again in the future.

Great location
Great home! Location is great. Spacious, etc. We has a blast. Not as nice and clean as other properties I’ve stayed at in Tahoe. Could use a facelift but overall it was amazing and we had a blast.
