About this house rental

Perfect for any visit to Austin, my beautiful 4 bedroom/3 bath house is great to relax in after SXSW, Formula 1 or the ACL Music Fest. The Barton Hills neighborhood is central, quiet, beautiful & near downtown, with so many great places to eat, see & shop within walking distance.. 4 blocks to the Broken Spoke Saloon; the Saxon Pub, Alamo Drafthouse/Highball, Opa's, ABGBs, Barton Creek, Barton Springs & ACL all a walk away. Fully furnished. Standard TV, wireless internet, hot tub, covered porch with ceiling fans and speakers and a Weber gas grill.

The base price is for 3 bedrooms & 6 people. The living room includes a full-sized futon. The 4th bedroom is an office with a trundle bed (two twin beds, one above the other,) but can also be combined to become a king-size bed.

Please note: During big events (e.g. SXSW, ACL, Formula One) rates increase to $800 a night & affect the monthly rate. Most things are within walking distance - 24-hour restaurant and Walgreens, gas station, shops, the famous Broken Spoke country dance hall with great live music almost every night and even a city bus stop two blocks away on South Lamar that can take you downtown four miles away. Barton Springs pool and the 14-mile hike and bike greenbelt are both in the neighborhood.

Karen’s house was perfect for a four nights stay while in town for a family event. The neighborhood is great – Walkable and convenient to downtown. Karen was easy to communicate with. We had an issue with a dripping shower, but her maintenance person came over quickly to repair it. The house is comfortable, well stocked and decorated with lots of personality! The backyard was great for relaxing, although we did not use the hot tub. We had a nice stay and would definitely recommend her home.

Close to downtown Austin to enjoy everything (Barton Springs, Zilker Park, 6th Street, Rainey Street and Town Lake). Sleeps 8 in separate rooms comfortably. Nice backyard area to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or grill out in the evening. This place has an Austin vibe that took me back to growing up in Austin. Sad to see all the trendy condos and McMansions springing up everywhere. This home is a perfect place for a large group.

Reunion of friends in Austin. The house was just what we needed. Three separate bedrooms, plus overflow on the futon in the living room. (There's also a spare room with an air mattress, but you'll be more comfortable moving the futon mattress in.) Kitchen well-appointed, everything you need. Nice back porch for decompressing and chatting after a long day of sight seeing.

My husband, his brother and our sister-in-law stayed at the property for ACL weekend. The house had lots of character and the neighborhood is nice. We had everything we needed, plenty of space, and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t use the hot tub or grill but enjoyed the outdoor space/seating. They owner was quick to answer any questions we had.

My family was visiting Austin for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in this beautifully designed home in a great part of town. The kitchen is amazing with gorgeous appliances and a fun retro vibe. Too bad I had no time to cook! I’d be very happy to stay here again. And our little dog loved it too!!

Ended up extending twice, just had the best time and such a great location with every amenity needed! Definitely utilized the awesome kitchen and spent more than a few hours on the lovely patio! Highly recommended!!!

Went for UT graduation ceremony weekend. Location is really good. Close to UT and downtown. Next to green belt trail. Very quiet neighborhood. House is filled up with nice surprises. Fully equipped kitchen with all the cooking items needed, including oil, spices, and more. Love the hot tub and tree house. Really enjoyed our stay there.

This is one of the best VRBO’s we’ve experienced in a long time. Nothing has come close to the amenities provided and it was perfect for entertaining family. Roomy, open and modern kitchen, comfortable beds (3 bedrooms), 3 baths including a claw foot tub, great hot tub, covered patio and all set in a beautiful neighborhood just off Lamar where there are plenty of restaurants. I highly recommend it to anyone desiring a fun, eclectic stay in a gorgeous area near downtown. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

We rented this house for four nights during my son’s UT graduation. The location near Lamar and South Congress was excellent for experiencing all the great restaurants and shops the area has to offer. The house was very comfortable with an excellent back yard patio and yard that was perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails. We loved the interesting (and quiet) neighborhood with all the different houses and hilly, curvy streets. Great for walking exercise.

Rented for a bachelorette party and this was the perfect place! Lots of personality in this home and the owner was very responsive. I would definitely stay in this place again if returning to Austin.

Highly recommend this house for friends or family. Classic Austin home in a great neighborhood close to everything you need. Unlike many vacation rental homes where the owner rarely visits, this home has the attention to details and well stocked kitchen you would expect if you lived in the home. Christmas decorations gave this a nice touch. Thank you for sharing!

The house was near everything I love in Austin . We rode skooters all over Zilker and downtown. The hot tub was a definite plus. The fenced back yard was the best with dogs .

We had a wonderful stay Thanksgiving here. The house is so fun and filled with eclectic memorabilia from what I am assuming the owners travels. Quirky and whimsical! We chose this property for location and the fact that is dog friendly. Both were great. There is a Zilker park close by which we spent part of an afternoon with the dogs. Great restaurants within minutes of where we were. The house was immaculate, the hot tub and lights outside made for special evenings. We will definitely be back when we are visiting our daughter at school.

This quirky little place set a great backdrop for our first visit to Austin. The hot tub was great at night and the beds we’re comfortable. We were close enough to all the sights, but far enough away for some quiet time. Overall a fun spot!

This was our first time staying in the South Lamar area of Austin (we’ve historically stayed in SoCo or Travis Heights) and we certainly did not regret it. Property is clean, the hosts are attentive, the decor is funky and the kitchen is functional...highly recommend!

We made our reservation on last minute plans, and were appreciative of the owner's responsiveness and hospitality. The neighborhood is a beautiful, walkable neighborhood undergoing transition to more modern architecture, but the bungalows / original houses are charming. The website photos are accurate, the home is clean, pet-friendly, the kitchen / pantry is welcoming to those who enjoying cooking, and the house was just what we needed for our week in Austin.

Karen's house is a great place to stay in Austin near Zilker Park. It has plenty of amenities and is in a great neighborhood. The back yard is an especially nice touch with the hot tub and hammock area to hang out with your friends. I'd absolutely recommend staying here to a friend.

Great location near several must see attractions and bear to downtown. The home itself is a museum filled with furnishings and trinkets those born before 1960 would appreciate.
