About this apartment rental
Steps away from museums and tourist attractions as well as the famous Mercado del Puerto and the port terminal that connects with Buenos Aires.
With everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Very spacious and sunny with roof-to-floor windows leading onto a pedestrian street. The building has access to the rooftop with barbecue where you can cook your own "asado".
The apartment is located in one of the most beautiful and ancient areas of Montevideo, right where three pedestrian streets converge and where a special and festive atmosphere is lived. It is a second floor by stairs. The marble staircase is spacious and original from the 19th century.
We opted for an eclectic decoration, mixing mid-century modern with contemporary and functionary design. You will enjoy an original pair of "Florence Knoll” sofas or lie down on a Le Corbusier Lounge Chair. Pieces of art are all over the place, from local and foreign artists.
The beds are very comfortable with high density mattress and can be prepared in king or single size. The kitchen has all the necessary elements for cooking: coffee maker, electric jug, toaster, microwave, stove and refrigerator. There is a Bose music system that allows you to charge the phone while listening to your favorite playlist. The studio, 55 m2/600 is spacious allowing areas to be well defined. The bathroom is roomy and bright with a bathtub and everything you may need: towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer.
On the top floor there is a laundry area with washing machine and dryer for common use. From there you can access the roof terrace where there is a barbecue that guests can use to prepare a traditional "asado". From the roof terrace you have a spectacular view of the Montevideo Bay, the Customs Building and the Cerro de Montevideo with its fortress.

I love this apartment - Great Vibes. Host was awesome.

We loved the location, no problems with the apartment or the neighborhood. The host was kind and understanding. There was some difficulty with check in due to our travel delay and difficulty getting messages through, but once we were able to meet someone at the apartment everything was fine. The bed was comfortable. The room temperature was easy to control. There was were mosquitos and flies that were a nuisance. The laundry area upstairs was convenient and the store around the corner has supplies for that. Would recommend to other travelers, single or couple, especially if you just need a place from which to explore the city.

The host was super kind and flexible. When our flight arrival time changed from 12pm to 9pm, she helped us get our keys and transition into the place. The apt. was very clean and looked exactly like the photos. Additionally, the apt. is very close to a lot of touristy sites -- we were able to talk to everything in the downtown area. I do want to note that the location of the apt. is a bit sketchy. It's no problem during the day, but we opted to stay inside at night.

Lovely stay. The place is as it looks in the pictures. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the deck with a bottle of wine. The bed was comfortable We had several great lunches at the market at Don Garcia. Enjoyed the street stalls and the quaint shops. The grocery store is close as well. Would stay again

What a stunning place. The building is ancient with vaulted ceilings and huge windows. It has to be the most tastefully furnished place i’ve ever stayed in. I had to push myself out the door to discover the city. Maria is terrific.

Great place to stay
This was a beautiful apartment in a great location, near a market, car free avenues, and the rambla. We found tango lessons a few blocks away and very helpful people in the garage where we parked. We recommend this place.

Center of Ciudad Vieja Montevideo
This apartment is located in the center of all of the action, restaurants, wine bars, brew pubs, shops, grocery stores, bus lines, and the wonderful Mercado del Puerto. Super safe to walk around anytime of the day or night. All off the streets are monitored with halo cameras. So many fun things to jump off and do, but most of all I am a foodie and this place is surrounded by some of Montivedeos best restaurants. Great place to stay for a short culinary and cultural adventure. The apartment is clean and has everything you need. Pack light because there are two steep and long flights of stairs to climb.

Perfectly located in Ciudad Vieja
We loved this apartment, inside and out! The balcony was the clincher, plus the high ceilings and the open layout. Add to that some of the best places to eat and drink within a block or two. Veronica helped us get a ride from and to the airport, which made our visit so much more relaxed. We highly recommend the experience.

Beautiful apartment
I'm so glad I let my husband pick this apartment. Beautiful old building, apartment has been very nicely renovated. Terrace was a nice plus to have. Everything you would need in kitchen. Close to shopping. Nice bed. Architecture of the neighborhood was beautiful. My Uruguayo husband was my walking tour guide. Maria, the owner, answered any questions we had, and graciously allowed a much longer stay than we had originally planned, for which we were eternally grateful. Do not miss the chance to stay here!

Great apartment in old town next to ferry
We are adventurous travelers and like staying in older parts of cities. This was a wonderful apartment that has everything we needed. It had high ceilings, a king size bed, large bathroom, and excellent air conditioning. It was right next to the port so you can walk from the ferry. Took a hop on hop off bus that you catch block away to see the rest of the city. Some very good restaurants nearby. It is a tourist area because the cruise ship docks nearby. Veronica was very responsive to our emails and helpful during our visit. We highly recommend if you want to be in the old city.

Absolutely delightful stay
This apartment exceeded our expectations and Maria was the most delightful and helpful host.
The apt. is perfectly located in the old part of Montevideo and is walking distance from the Buquebus Ferry Terminal. The decor is very well done with great art and furnishings. The unit is also very well equipped for cooking and having access to the laundry was a bonus. Across the street is Montevideo Wine Experience ... a must visit place where owner Niko will welcome you . Next door to MVW is Es Mercat a very good seafood restaurant! One thing to consider is the proximity to some bars that play music quite late. We did not find this to be a great hardship but worth being aware of. Thank you again Maria for making our stay so memorable!!

Beautiful apartment in a great location
We had a wonderful stay in Montevideo and this apartment was a big part of that. First of all, you can’t beat the location; it’s very close to the port, which worked out quite well for us since we arrived by boat from Buenos Aires. We literally rolled our suitcases up the street to meet Veronica in front of the apartment. Veronica is very responsive and a delight to deal with. The apartment itself is comfortable, cozy, full of beautiful details, impeccably decorated, and has everything one could need to feel at home. There are countless cafes, bars and restaurants close by. No need for a car. Everything is either a walk or a taxi or Uber ride away. Montevideo is a beautiful place full of kind people, great food and plenty of outdoor spaces to explore. This property is a great home base from where to begin doing just that. Thank you Veronica for making it so special! We will definitely return!
