Fantastic setting for large family gathering to visit breweries and vineyards in the area.

All of the concerns about the dishware, cleanliness, etc., were addressed at the time of our stay. Beautiful home on a beautiful, quiet property within a short walk to a great brewery, not much more to say!

What an incredible property this is. The location, yard, amenities and house itself are truly awesome. We were a quick three minute walk from the distillery and restaurant but it seemed we were in the middle of the mountains with nothing but the trees and skies to see in every direction. The deck, firepits and cornhole give you plenty of reasons to get outdoors and the house has so many huge windows it almost feels like you’re outside even when you’re in. We will stay again and definitely recommend you do as well. You won’t regret it.

There was an issue with the ac in master bedroom first night which was promptly fixed by the next day. A few open windows and we were comfortable without it that night. The home exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back!

Great place inside and out. Plenty of room for activities, visiting with good friends, relaxation, and sleeping arrangements. Beautiful location and convenient to brewery as well as stores for supplies. Everyone enjoyed themselves and loved the venue.

This is my 2nd year renting for family’s Christmas. Kitchen is well stocked. Only suggestion is non-stick frying pans (very difficult to clean) or bring your own. The fireplace was very nice, just needed kindling & some newspaper. It’s very convenient to breweries & wineries etc. I plan to rent again next year.

We spent time visiting local wineries & breweries. We enjoyed the property, especially the fire pit.

Had an absolutely wonderful time here for Christmas with the family! When we arrived we were surprised to find a decorated Xmas tree and some other cute decorations! The house was great for cooking Xmas dinner and fun and board games with the family. We took a couple hikes at Wintergreen and saw the Blue Ridge Tunnel. Very convenient next door to the brewery! Great place to stay!

Gorgeous spacious house with beautiful views. Great kitchen stocked with all of the necessaries needed. Plenty of wood stored in the garage for building a fire in the fireplace. Lots of beds. Easy path to walk to the brewery.

This family has been getting together annually for last 8 years. This was the best home I have rented. Plenty of space for meal, games, enjoying special conversations and laughs. Some family went skiing at Wintergreen and we visited breweries, wineries & cideries very close by. Only suggestion is listing of kitchen amenities (e.g. needed scouring pad, sponges & dish towels). Recommend bring crockpot, electric griddle or fry pan. Thank you

This is the fourth time we have stayed at this property and each year we hope some changes have been made. Unfortunately, the house is not overly clean. The refrigerator and freezer were sticky and had crumbs, there were hundreds of dead flies in the living room windows, and the lights were covered in dust :( The bedding was clean and so were the bathrooms. The location of this house could not be more perfect if you enjoy visiting Devil's Backbone! We absolutely love this brewery!

not enough cups for coffee 6 for 12 people had to take turns dring our morning coffee not enough cooking utensils, pots and pans. The window sills was covered with a miilion dead flys that continued to fal to the floor everytine door was opened. when we arrive liiving room floor was black from dead flies. no light bulbs in lamps. dishwasher rack belongs in some other dishwasher, had to physically lift it in out . we loved the location.

Sofa in family room stained and chairs in downstair bedroom frayed and torn.
House was cold (temp. at night @40) . Several beds only had cotton blanket/comforter on them.
Numerous light bulbs were out(ie:overhead chandeliers in family room, hannging pendant lights in kitchen, vanity light in upstairs bathroom). Family room lamp had no light bulb.
Pocket door in upstairs bathroom sticks when closed and difficult to open.

Great house and location. We had DB cater the rehearsal dinner. Wedding and reception were held at Pharsalia so DB was the perfect location to hold the rehearsal dinner and stay for the weekend. Thank you Kayla!!

This is a beautiful house that sleeps a ton of people in a great location! You can walk to the cidery across the street and spend your time at Devils Backbone. We didn’t have the shampoo/soap set for bathrooms so bring your own and we didn’t have hand towels. Those were just minor things - would definitely stay again!

Great getaway
We stayed here for a weekend and enjoyed the very nice views and features the house had to offer. The deck is really nice! We took plenty of pictures and had a great time. There’s also a ton of room for 10 people.
The staff at Devils Backbone is also very nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again :)

Girls Weekend
Overall this property is beautiful but the pictures need to be updated & the bedroom descriptions need more detail.
Outdoors: you drive up to a stunning view of the front & open the door to a beautiful foyer with the double staircase and sunlight coming in from all the windows in the living room. However, there were 6 bags of dog poop scattered on the back porch (we cleaned them up). The patio table also only has 6-7 chairs now & the table is very warped. One of the back doors to go to the patio doesn't lock & you have to pull really hard to get it to open from the inside.
Inside: lots of plugs, lights are labeled. Doors were very creaky & bathroom doors were loud enough that most of the group woke up for overnight bathroom go'ers. We had WD-40 & took care of it for night 2. We loved the sunlight coming in the windows. Kitchen had everything we needed for plates, pots, pants, etc. The dishwasher is broken - it took an obscene amount of times to get it to run fri evening - as in more than a dozen attempts. It would sometimes start & run for a minute or 2, then turn off. It was shear luck on the attempt when it worked. But we kept trying again at check out - it was running when we left (was prob the 15th attempt) but we don't know if it finished.
Most importantly - the bedrooms need better descriptions. This is a house for family with kids - the upstairs has 2 HUGE master beds with large master baths. One master bedroom has a closet that has been converted to a bedroom with 2 twin beds that were uncomfortably close for adults - and it walks out into the master bedroom (not the hallway). The other upstairs bedroom has no door and is open to the upstairs hallway/foyer. It's practically at the top of the stairs so there's no privacy. This setup is great for parents with kids, but it's not really acceptable to 10 adults. The 2 downstairs bedrooms are perfect. All showers have a very wide water spray with little water pressure so it's a little difficult to clean female hair unless you find the one strong stream. The downstairs 1/2 bath toilet see was broken upon arrival but we continued to use it.
If pictures show a picnic table and foosball table, they did not exist on our June 2022 trip.
Overall it was a great place for our girls weekend - lots of windows brings lots of flies/gnats as you come and go, so there were a handful of dead ones around the windows. Check in code was not in email as instructed but in app. Host is not always responsive.

Degradation of what was a very nice property
We have stayed in this house several times over the past 6 years. This most recent stay was a disappointment. It seems the owners have lost interest in offering a premier property. I get it, there's a lot of work involved, but when you pay a premium price you expect an excellent experience.
It seems the goal here is to cram in as many beds as possible to market it to large groups, so the largest bed is a double. When a storm rolled through there was a severe leak from the kitchen ceiling and the floor was soaked. No soap, no shampoo, no dishwasher soap, and a mismatched set of dishes and cups.
On the outside, the trim is falling off the windows and the deck is dangerous with warped boards.
Great location, Love Devils Backbone, just disappointed that the owner seems to have lost interest. With this property, you do not get what yopu pay for.

Beautiful house and property located near numerous vineyards, breweries, and distilleries, we had an absolute blast grilling dinner on the deck and enjoying the fire pit in the evening.

Great place for a weekend getaway!
This an ideal place for a weekend getaway. Very close to the festivities of Devil's Backbone, but far enough to not be bothered by any noise. The only downside was the cleanliness of the home. There are hundreds of dead flies on the window of the property, which fall to the ground every day. I had to personally clean up around 100-200 flies each morning. Disgusting. Other than this flaw, the property was perfect.

House and location are great. Cleanliness not so great.
Our stay was a lot of fun! Love Devils Backbone.

Perfect Location
This is a gorgeous house, and was able to accommodate our large group. The proximity to Devil's Backbone is obviously a huge selling point, but it also takes no time to get up to Wintergreen for skiing as well. Our whole group had a blast, and we are already looking forward our next trip back to this house. Thanks!

Perfect Mountain Getaway
We planned this trip months ago for 12 adults to get away for the weekend! This place was perfect for what we needed. It fit us all comfortably and was spacious enough for cooking and relaxing as a group together.
The views were beautiful and the close proximity to the brew pub made it so easy to walk over to get anything we needed :)
The place was clean and check in and check out ran smoothly!

Winter getaway
We had a short but relaxing stay at this property. Location was excellent for our needs with it being minutes away from several breweries and wineries, and literally a walk down a path to Devils Backbone. Layout of the house was nice and plenty of room for our entire party. If we could adjust anything it would be the replacement of light bulbs - several out in the house including main living area. Also internet and satellite TV were out while we were there. Not a big impact to our stay but would have been nice if those things worked.

Holiday stay
had a blast and house was perfect for our group of 11! played football, soccer, cornhole, camp fires and kickball all weekend with our kids in the larger flat outdoor space. Oh and and cant forget there was Devils Backbones brewery 200 yards away!! (highly recommend the orange frozen drink 10/10)

Fantastic getaway
The house is in a perfect location. We rented it for a bachelorette party and it was so convenient to walk from the house to devils back bone and the rent a bus and get to a few wineries the next day. We walked along the trail around the DBB property and enjoyed the views from the house. We would love to rent again for a family getaway.

Fabulous property
We had our 3 adult children, with our 4 toddler grandchildren on vacation at this beautiful spacious home. We love the mountains, but it’s very hard to find a home with a yard and room for children to play and run. This home had more than enough yard. You could relax on the deck while watching the children play all day. Also a big beautiful kitchen. Which is very important for my family. Because we all love to cook.
