This little red cabin was originally built in the 1920's and is still owned by the same family. Aside from the kitchen appliances, new TV's, new bedding, and furniture, not much has changed from the 20's when the house was built. You will experience a truly rare vacation staying in this little 3 bedroom cabin.
There is an amazing view of the lake and Cave Rock, you are lake front with a bit of beach area depending on the water level, and still close to town.
Being that this cabin was built in the 20's the floors are not even, the stairs to the loft bedroom with a queen are steeper that any normal stairs, and there is actually a tree that the house was built around! This is something that you will rarely get to experience in Tahoe!
You enter into the cabin through the kitchen. In the kitchen you will find a dishwasher, 4 burner glass cook top, microwave, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, & toaster. There are pots & pans, silverware, cups, plates etc. We do not supply any food items at all like spices, oils, sugars, coffee etc. The old fashion cast iron stove you see in the kitchen is not in working condition and is only there as decoration. The floors in the kitchen are uneven as the house was built in the 20's, the wheels on the block island must stay locked so it does not roll away, all part of the fun of this little cabin!
Through the kitchen you enter into the living room. There is a wood burning fireplace (wood is not provided) a new TV, dining table & access to the deck area and beach/ lake area. The one full bathroom is off of the living room. There is a stand up shower, toilet and sink in this bathroom. There are 2 bedrooms off of the living room; BR 1 with a queen & BR 2 with a twin bunkbed.
Above the kitchen is the loft bedroom # 3 with queen. There is a door to this room making it private and we call it a loft as the ceilings are angled like a loft. There is a toilet room (toilet and sink only) and this is where the house was built around a tree! Open the window in the toilet room and you get to see the tree, what an experience!
There is a BBQ off of the kitchen area in the back of the house in the gravel area. We cannot put the BBQ on the wood lake view deck for fire safety reasons.
There is no dock, we do not supply water toys of any kind or boats of any kind.

This was my first time staying at a vacation home so I was really going off of the pictures when I was making our sleeping arrangements and I decided to go with this rental as it had more beds than the other one I was comparing it to however it only has 2 queens and a bunk bed; thankfully we were able to make things work however I think that part needs to be updated on the rental post. I love that the rental is pet friendly however the bed sheets on the second floor were covered in dog hairs. I think I would rent this rental out again but make sure to take the rooms into consideration. The easy access to the water was definitely the highlight of the trip. I also had a quick response from the property management when we had a question in regards to the wifi.

The view is SPECTACULAR from the deck. Master bed is a king and very, very comfortable. Kitchen very well stocked. Minor points: There is a fair amount of road noise. Sofa in living room doesn't seem to match the photos and is not comfortable. Chair in living room was old and had dog hair all over it.

The view was breathtaking!! Will definitely be booking again! Host was very responsive.

We wanted a quiet place to stay near the water with our dog Kota. This was a beautiful property and great cabin. About 15min north of the casinos, and 15min south of Spooner lake. We knew the cabin was next to the water but was right on top of it! The waves were crashing on the sand and rocks in the evening. It was so soothing to fall asleep to. In the mornings, the lake was like glass. Tranquil and peaceful.
The cabin is old and quaint, the beds were soft and the sheets were good quality. The deck was incredible. The property manager was very helpful and accommodating as well.
Spooner lake was a great 2mile hike, the dog and us loved it. Lots of beach activities nearby as well.
Our only suggestion for the owners would be to update their patio furniture. Felt very heavy and stiff. Maybe Adriatic chairs, more lounging restful seating. You really do spend the day on the deck when the weather permits.

We had a great time. The location and views are amazing. We understand that the cabin is from last century but to give 5 stars, they need some improvement. Some curtains in the bedrooms. We tried to use the fireplace but there was a very bad smell so webstopped using it. The hunk bed cannot be used by adults, neither teenagers. They move a lot and my daughter's had to sleep on the couch. It was very hot in this bedroom, even with the doors opened.Otherwise, kitchen very well equipped with lots of pots and pans, bowls... Everything we needed. It was a great 5 days vacation.

This beautiful ‘Old Tahoe’ lakefront cabin with a private beach is truly one-of-a-kind. It is definitely a splurge, but in my opinion, it’s worth every penny. This is now the third summer we have spent a week at this historic cabin. My children, my dog, and I enjoy it and appreciate it more every year. The sunset (and moonrise) views from the deck, being able to enjoy a sandy, shady private beach, and the convenient location all contribute to the amazing experience. I was so happy that the cabin did not sustain any damage (except for some downed branches) from the heavy snows last winter. This cabin is very special and I hope we can return every summer.

The property is lovely. My main problem was the difficulty getting to the beach. No one else had a problem but I didn’t go the beach without my hiking poles and someone’s strong arm to hold on top. It would really help to have some handrails on the lower section.
The road repair and subsequent schedule was very annoying. If you wanted to come or go you had to do it before 7 or 12-12:30 or after 5. That was very annoying.

This was the best place to have a lake vacation! The house is full of history and charm but the location.... 10/10! The view is amazing, the deck is large and a perfect mix of sun and shade at all times of the day. The private beach is just a few steps away and the water is perfect for kids and adults. My kids (age 11-14) snorkeled for hours and had plenty of space to never get bored or feel crowded. We loved every minute and can't wait to stay again!

This property was all we could ask for. The location was unmatched in terms of beauty and lake assess. It had all the amenities u would need. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable. It gave a welcoming feel that made u instantly comfortable. Nothing fancy but had character and history. I felt like I had stepped into the past and got a glimpse of times gone by.

This is our 3rd time here. We just love it! It’s the perfect size for my husband, dog and I and has everything we need. The Property Manager is always available and very nice. Just steps to the water, quiet, large deck with amazing views (sunset, lake, mountains). Walking distance to Cave Rock hike and boat launch. Short distance to South Shore if you need a people fix or entertainment/shopping.

Private, beautiful setting on the lake. Fantastic wrap-around deck. We deliberately went for the snow and weren't disappointed! Peaceful walks, bed was so comfortable! Heating and hot water excellent :) Rustic, charming property. Loved our stay!

Lake Tahoe April Trip
We had such a relaxing stay. Beautiful lake and scenery! Family was able to get on the kayak and enjoy the lake. Only thing that was an issue was the Wi-Fi was not working but the management responded quickly and set up an appointment for the company to come out and fix it. However, they never showed up. We did not let this ruin our time there. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Old Historic Cabin *** Charming, Awesome View
Would I stay here again? Yes! The cabin is clean and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need. Nice wood fireplace insert. Outstanding deck with views. The house was built in 1920 so don’t expect perfection in the building. The views are worth every penny!

Sweet Red Cabin
Check in/out was a breeze! A little tricky finding it! The grounds could use a little sprucing up and the cabin could use some interior maintenance (realizing it is old), Kitchen is fully equipped. The inside is clean, very sweet and roomy. Love the deck with a beautiful west facing view of the lake/sunsets. Lots of room. Short stairs (not steep) to a nice sandy beach. The water was shallow while we were there (9/20), but our Lab had an excellent time playing in the water! I would def stay here again!

Beyond Rustic
This was a HUGE disappointment! The pictures of the house are deceiving.
Floors are in need of updates & carpets have disgusting stains. I had to clean all the outside cushions before we could sit down!!!!! It is lakefront but for the price, we could have stayed at a resort with 2 rooms & been more comfortable.

Small and cozy cabin helped create a wonderful weekend getaway for my closest friends and family. Great location near Cave Rock boat launch and amazing private beach access.

The location couldn’t be better
The location couldn’t be better. The cabin is as described, built in the 1920s, so it is quirky and unique. But it has everything you could need, and having the lake on your doorstep is unbeatable!
