Unresponsive host. No A/C and none of the fans worked. Microwave is broken. Stove top and oven does not work well. House was cleaned well. But overall we still had a great time and the home is beautiful

Classic lakeside setting, quiet neighborhood, close to lake and amenities, perfect summer vacation home

Overall, we had a great time. The house is older and in need of a lot of repairs and maintenance to really make it reflect what is advertised in the listing. Luckily, we were in town to be out on the lake, so it wasn't a big deal, but many issues need to be addressed sooner rather than later.

Pro:
The size and layout of the house was good.
Cons: The place was very hot but there was a heat spell so understandable, but working fans would have helped a lot. The overhead fan in the living room did not work...IN FACT, MANY appliances did not work and we didn't find out until we got there.
The first appliance we noticed not working was the washing machine. There was a note by the owner dated on 6/6 that said it didn't drain and they were working with someone to get it fixed. We arrived on 7/7 and it still hadn't been fixed. I called Vacasa the following morning at 9am to ask for additional towels since we wouldn't be able to wash anything and they contacted the local property manager and left a message to have some delivered. Nothing came that day. The next morning I called again and so they called the property mgr again who sent out a technician to fix the machine. He could do nothing and no towels arrived either. That evening I called a third time and explained it couldn't be fixed, and that we still needed towels since we were heading to the lake the following day. Never got any towels and that same night I called them for the third time, I ran the dishwasher and it leaked all over the floor. I wasn't going to use any of the few precious towels we had so had to sop it all up with paper towels which we had to buy more of. The floor in front of the dishwasher was pretty warped so it had been leaking for a while. The Microwave died that day too.

NOT RECOMMENDED! During our 20 years of travelling and experience with short term rental properties from several platforms we have never encounter a property that had all appliances were non-working. It is hard to determine if it is a lapse on the part of the property management company (Vacasa), the listing platform for the property (VRBO) or the property owner. Although the property has a good layout and at one time probably was a great property, it has been neglected and is not in good working order. Frankly, this property should not beallowed on the rental market.. The hot tub was a green disgusting smelly mess; which has been reported before. They did get a technician out and the end result was a clean and operational hot tub. However it was evident that it is not on a regular maintenance schedule. It is evident that the management of the property has been intentionally neglectful. Therefore the representation of the property is intentionally inaccurate and false. The advertising of the property is fraudulant.. VRBO has not listened to complaints and does not make sure the property management company is diligent and pro-active in it management. I wonder if the owners are aware of the condition of their property or are they unwilling to invest in the property maintenance.
All appliances should be replaced. They are old and have not been replaced or maintained in a timely manner.
I have many more items but you limit the space

Our family included my wife, myself, my son and his family. Weather, water, hikes, beach, etc. were just outstanding.

We loved the location, the size & amenities like the hot tub, games, karaoke and sleds. But the living room fireplace didn't work, the kitchen microwave didn't work, the clothes washer did not drain and the water filter on the fridge was 'red' and said 'change'. I contacted Vacasa immediately for each issue - they said they were so sorry, promised to send someone out but no one ever came (even when they said they would 'come tomorrow'). I never received a single update unless I reached out over and over. This took our stay and pleasure with a great house down to frustrated and very unhappy. If you only care about location and size its a good rental but if you want things that work or quick fixes maybe pick a different spot.

The place needed a good cleaning. Light bulbs were out all over the house, the washer/dryer did not work, the grill on the deck was locked-up, and I called vacasa and the helpdesk said it could not be used (although it was the main reason I rented the place and bought over $100 in steaks for the family. I had to go buy a grill for $350.00
Wierd layout as well. Kitchen down and main kitchen up.
I hope I pick something better next time I go with VRBO and not with Vacasa.

House in a great location and easy communication but property seems mismanaged and not well maintained. Aside from multiple appliances not working properly, there were also various serious safety concerns we found.
1. Our first night, the heater and fireplace in the masters weren’t turning on at all so we had to sleep in the cold.
2. Carbon monoxide alarm AND fire alam was not working in the room with the old fireplace.
3. Front porch corner rails by the jacuzzi disjointed. These rails are important to prevent slips and falls, especially being next to the jacuzzi.
4. Last step of the stairs by the side of house that leads to the yard was broken. It was snowy and slippery the time we were there and people could’ve slipped.
5. Chair in dining table unstable due to wobbling front leg.
6. Water from washer not draining properly leaving your clothes very wet. (I question the cleanliness of our bedsheets and towels now if they were not aware of this)
7. Dishwasher controls not all functional.
8. Main stovetop burner not working.
9. Sliding shower door in 1 guest room missing a screw, leaving it difficult to open/close door and sometimes dangles sideways. This door could potentially fall on someone.
10. False advertising. Living room in fireplace and Master’s broken without giving us notice before arrival.

Location good-close to lake, quiet neighborhood, dog friendly, adequate space for extended family of 9. Furniture very old! Beds and linens need replacement now!

We are not perfectionists but it suited our style and the layout was nice for our family. Lots of nice decor and thoughtful bits. Most comfortable beds in Master and bunk queen. Upper deck not cleaned and bedspreads worn, but cozy. Leather. Couches were so comfy and skylights and pendants were nice too. Well equipped kitchen. We made great family memories!

Our family of 8 spent New Year’s Eve here. Our oldest daughter was hoping we would get snowed in. Wish granted! It snowed 30 inches in only 12 hours. It was magical to spend 4 nights here. Super comfortable and tons of space. The master bedroom is so huge and private, my wife and I felt like we were totally secluded and on our own vacation. Something that never happens when we travel with all our kids. Highly recommend.

First off I did a review on this place a few days ago but apparently VRBO deleted it. Anyway, location is good but we had several issues:
-wifi was out the entire time. We paid $2500 total for 5 nights (4 people) and we all needed wifi for work, so it was a huge inconvenience to say the least. Apparently, the owners auto pay didn’t go through, however it shouldn’t take 5 days to correct it. After calling multiple times the property manager offered a very modest credit.
-hot tub water smelled weird and was discolored.
-ants in the master bathroom
-several dirty dishes (we had to rewash almost everything ourselves)
-beer can and other garage items out front when we checked in
-only one burner works on the stove, not ideal when cooking from home
I called VRBO about these issues as well but they were unresponsive didn’t offer any compensation. Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the cabin based on how much we paid. Look at other reviews and several people complain about the same things, we will not stay here again.
We stripped the beds, washed their laundry, cleaned all the dishes and generally left the cabin looking better than we found it.

The house had probably been vacant for most of the season. It was loaded with cobwebs in the rafters. The hanging lights were filthy. Some items in the kitchen were broken (stove knob and tea kettle). There were a few piles of sawdust in the living room, either termites or from drilling into the wood to hang new lighting. The wifi name and password were incorrect. That took 24 hours to resolve.

Good location. Comfortable. But , several broken appliances: dish washer, ice maker, trash compactor. Knob on stove broken. Carpenter ants on living room beam. Fitted sheets were wrong size. Decks need repair. Hot tub top being replaced.

We’ve stayed at this home now twice and love it. It is very comfortable for our family and is in a quiet and well located neighborhood. If the property manager could please change the water filter in the fridge it would be just about perfect!

Great Week
We got lucky. It snowed the week we were at the house, and there was fresh powder throughout. Big, warm house. Housekeeping apparently didn’t care to clean cobwebs at higher locations throughout the house. Other than that, we found a wonderful house for all 8 of us (6 adults, 2 kids). Will definitely check availability year.

Great spot for a big group
This house was beautiful and in a lovely location. The set up of the place is nice with the open and cozy living space upstairs and the bedrooms/bathrooms downstairs. We didn’t have enough towels but vacasa was quick to rectify it and dropped some off ASAP. The heat in one of the bedrooms (bunk bed) was so hot and stuffy, but seemed to be fine for the others. Overall, a really nice place that felt like a home. Would absolutely come back.

The location is nice! Not much of a lake view, but, such a beautiful location anyway. Just a nice enough size yard for little ones to enjoy snow play! The house is a little dated, but, nicely equipped with clean linens, kitchen supplies, etc.
Only suggestion- new mattresses.
Hope to revisit soon!

Awesome retreat!
Great unique house. Bedrooms on lower level. Everything in working order. Directions posted and available. Great walk to lake. Nice location to downtown Tahoe City.
Some constructive suggestions:
1) label which beaches are available to walk to.
2) fix some of the flooring on the deck. Some pieces of wood are rotting and barely held together with nails.

Great place, VACASA a bit challenging to work with
Review wise the location and cabin are awesome! Would definitely stay there again. VACASA was a bit challenging to work with, their phone number wasn’t listed anywhere if you had an issue, they never responded back to a message I sent them on the app (they later said they were too busy??), there was at least 3 separate checkout checklists that all said different and conflicting things, there was trash out front when we checked in and the garbage box outside on the street was crammed full of old and disgusting garbage (obviously hadn’t been emptied in quite some time). VACASA eventually offered a modest refund but like I said their communication isn’t great and they are bit challenging to work with

We came for a long weekend getaway. Excellent location. Close to Tahoe City and a number of slopes. Would have appreciated an extra roll of paper towel and a few extra garbage bags. House only equipped with one roll and one bag. For a family of 4, those were in short supply.

Nice place with a few minor things missing
We would definitely stay here again as the home was nice and in a great area. We'll give some feedback to the managers that there were a couple of things missing/broken. Things like sufficient toilet paper to last the week, kitchen towels, bathroom face towels, broken BBQ, and trash compactor. None of these was a big deal but a bit annoying in aggregate.

Other then Location I wouldn’t Recommend
Leading up to this trip, I attempted multiple times to message and contact owner and management company with questions but got ZERO response.
When my family and I arrived, the blankets for the beds had dog hair on them and wasn’t as clean as thought it might be. Also the trash bin was jammed full of old trash so we had to collect our own trash inside the house until I contacted management if management to complain. Also the bbq did not work and the hot tub was inaccessible due to COVID. The hot tub not being made available was an excuse to not service is all as our friends hot tub (also rental) just down the street and all hot tubs in pool we saw were in use and in Full compliance with placer county. In addition to this, the power went out several times, where kitchen appliances would not work. Again I called only to be told to try and find the breaker and handle. This is unacceptable!
It was also funny that the guests before us also had complained and even wrote in welcome book similar complaints to ours. Totally inexcusable and unacceptable
Other then the location and proximity I wouldn’t recommend this place. Terrible customer service and communication, especially during COVID, a time where people pay big money to get away with change of scenery. Big disappointment and I will be asked for compensation and partial refund

Decent basic cabin
Cabin was clean and had all the basics that we needed. One thing as a negative was the key for the hot tub was not found, but otherwise it was a good stay.
