About this house rental
There is a distinctive feeling one gets when in Cedar Key. A comfortable feeling like wearing old, soft jeans. An attitude that says you are home now you can relax and put up your feet. Is it the salt smell in the air, the sunsets on the Gulf, the sights and smells and sounds of the little village by the sea with its eateries and its shops and its bicycles? Or is it the mangroves and low tides and fishy odors on the breeze. It may be one or all of the above. But that feeling is real and it is worth traveling a little farther for. Worth staying on the roadway until it ends on the seashore at Cedar Key.
Pelican Place is located on the Gulf of Mexico in Cedar Key Florida, an island village approximately three miles from the mainland.
This house overlooks the gulf with islands and gulf waters extending out as far as one can see. The two bedroom, two bath home with porches and balconies on two sides affords panoramic water views. From the cozy waterfront sun room to the open deck there is no shortage of inspiring views.
Once inside the home the open and light filled great room continues to bring the outside in with views of the Gulf of Mexico. Whether you are in the living room, the dining area, the kitchen or the master bedroom the sparkling water of the gulf are never more than a glance away at Pelican Place.
Bring your bicycles for when you are ready to explore all the byways and nooks and crannies of the island head any 2 miles in any direction and you have seen the entire island. Or perhaps you want to take a faster method of transportation. Then climb aboard the four seat golf cart (available to you for an additional charge). The breeze in your face, the 12 mph pace, the "hellos" and "howdys" from other happy visitors and locals alike will cause you to ask yourself "how was I ever so lucky and blessed to find Pelican Place and Cedar Key?"
Launch the kayaks (2 provided) and paddle across the bay for a memorable experience. Make sure you have a firm knowledge of the Cedar Key tides. Always paddle out on an incoming tide and paddle back before it turns again. Anyway the kayaks are here for your enjoyment.
The small pier at Pelican Place is located on the water directly in front of the house. This dock is excellent for fishing.
Pelican Place house comes fully furnished and well equipped. It is clean and neat and goes above and beyond even the McCormick Management Co. standards. The Kitchen is stocked well with all one needs for cooking and serving and dining in. The bedrooms are tastefully done and all your linens are supplied. The living room is spacious and comfortable with seating for six and a wide screen smart tv. The dining area is great for conversation and dinner and games.
The waterside deck is fantastic for catching the gulf breeze and the Florida sun. The front porch has two comfortable swings with springs and cushions

The cottage was very nicely appointed. Everything we needed. Beautiful decorations. Very relaxing! Close to everything. Make sure to bring bottled water because there is no filtered water in fridge.

Great location on the water! Comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable. Back enclosed room has a great view of the water. Watched the boats come and go and the dolphins play in the water every day. Easy check in/out process. Ample supplies. Easy to get around the island. Walkable to the downtown area.

We've stayed at Cedar Key a number of times but we've decided that Pelican Place is by far our favourite place to stay here. We loved being able to walk out onto the patio and gather around that photo-perfect circle of colourful chairs right on the water to watch the sunsets. The decor is just perfect for a charming hideaway by the sea. We also really loved being able to walk to all the pubs and restaurants and shops on the pier and along the main street. We will definitely come back again to Cedar Key and Pelican Place.

Wonderful beach cottage. 4 of us (2 couples) come to CK twice a year to fish and have now found the perfect place to stay. Beautifully decorated, very clean, well stocked with all necessary amenities and the perfect spot to just relax and enjoy the gorgeous Cedar Key sunrises/sunsets. We are already looking forward to returning in April 24. Loved it!

This is a cute charming home by the gulf that has everything you need to enjoy while your away from home. Fish right out the back door, kayak over to a smaller deserted island, grab a golf chart and explore more of the island, visit little shops and enjoy a nice cold beer and fish sandwich. Even a short two day trip can get you back to your relaxed state of mind in this beautiful home where the decor is on point for the location. We hope to be back shortly and stay longer.

My wife and I had an excellent stay. Everything was as described. The views were excellent and the cottage was positioned a block from downtown so no driving was required all week.
Very short paddle to some great fishing and beach combing.
We hope to return in the futuer!

We really enjoyed our stay at the mermaid cottage. With comfortable beds and plenty of space to move around, my friend, and I were very pleased. The two bathrooms were nicely appointed and clean. The views around the fire pit are stunning. We got sunrise and the effects of sunset around the corner. We would definitely be back.

This was our first visit to Cedar Key and we weren’t sure where to stay. This was the perfect location on the island. I can’t imagine a better location or view on the island.
The property was perfect. It was well decorated, clean and kept up plus the sunroom has an amazing view.
I would highly recommend staying here.

Pelican Place is a beautifully restored historic cottage in a fantastic location. The minute we walked in we were embraced by the welcoming ambience. The pride the owners take in this home is evident throughout. We especially enjoyed the spectacular panoramic water views from the sun room. In fact, we loved the cottage so much we have already booked a return trip!

Wow - I did not want to leave. We will definitely be coming back to Pelican Place. It was clean, cozy and made you feel so secluded even with neighbors. We loveddddd the panoramic sun room, we enjoyed many morning coffees and afternoon naps on that porch. Thank you for welcoming your home for us to enjoy!

Pelican Place
In my opinion Pelican Place is the best piece of property you can choose on Cedar Key. House was wonderful. Views amazing. Short walk to fishing pier and downtown. We had a minor plumbing issue but JD came to access, called a plumber and it was fixed in an hour or so. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Extraordinary Cedar Key
Our stay at Pelican Place was absolutely wonderful. The vista from the enclosed porch, deck or fire pit was breathtaking. The home was nicely decorated and had everything one would possibly need for one's stay. The location is excellent, within close proximity to most everything at CK. We did rent the golf cart to further explore the island and avoid driving - no particular reason other than convenience. We cannot say enough about this home, so thankful the owners share it.

A Relaxing Getaway
We enjoyed our stay at Pelican Place. The home is decorated as a beach cottage and added to views of the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding Keys. We spent most of our time sitting in the back sunroom, eating on the outdoor table and taking in sunsets down at the fire pit!
We also used the kayaks and golf cart (extra fee) each day, so great added amenities to the rental.
Please note: The closest full-blown grocery store is 45 minutes away, so we recommend picking up on your way or plan accordingly.
Overall, a great relaxing getaway!

WOW
In brief, this place was excellent! The view is what it is all about, we ate breakfast on the back porch with the dolphins each morning. They now have 2 brand new kayaks that we took over to Atsena Otie Key (10 minute paddle straight out the back door) and checked out some local history. You can walk to everything, but the golf cart is nice to have. The town is quaint, small and full of friendly people and good food. If you have time, go to the dock and watch them bring in their clam boats!! The house is as pictured and described. Kudos to the owner providing a beachy/island feel in every room! We brought our own firewood for the fire pit and used that each night and my husband fished from the dock every day, let's just say he didn't get skunked:) This house and location is a great find, you won't be disappointed. We will be making many more memories in Cedar Key and this little house. So much for brief!!!

Best Secret in Cedar Key
Location, location, location! This place was amazing! With two solid king beds and fantastic seating throughout the house, you will be comfortable throughout your stay. And don’t even get me started about the outdoor space! The lot is at the end of a series of cute waterfront homes, so you see the sunrise and sunset around a fire pit and on the private dock. You can walk to all the shops and restaurants, or if needed, rent the golf cart specifically assigned to this home. Get fantastic seafood at Robinson’s on your way in and plan to grill with an amazing view! We will be repeat customers of this location!

Exceptional property. Location, clean, awesome views
Overall experience was excellent. Home was as advertised check in and check out was easy and quick. Please rent the available golf cart as parking for a car is not easy on Dock St. We will rent this property again.

Pelican paradise
Pelican Place is a quaint cottage that made us feel right at home. The view from the sunroom is perfect. Pelican Place should be called Pelican Paradise! We thoroughly enjoyed watching the pelicans from the fire pit deck. This location is so peaceful yet walking distance to restaurants. The sunsets are spectacular! We took the kayaks to Atsena Otie Key, the island across from the property and we explored the island. We definitely recommend renting their golf cart and exploring all Cedar Key has to offer.

Pelican Place
Ok, so my husband & I loved the place, Great location. However
The listing for this property said :
"Bicycles Provided (2)
* Kayaks Provided (3)
two kayaks were there. one said it leaked and the other was not set up. So basically I would not set out in a Kayak by myself. The bicycles were just thrown under the underneath of the property & in horrible shape. Children toys just thrown underneath the property.
NOW the cats/NOT a fan: One grey one knew that I didn't like him & stayed away. On the last day a black & white one was a complete bother. I could not even sit on the deck and enjoy my coffee.
Very nice property but could use more than just the inside housekeeping. The outside could use some upkeep, esp. now in the off season.
Also the instructions on the frig. need to be updated. ESP for the golf cart
Ok, so those are my thoughts. My husband & I live in Osprey ,FL, but we moved here from Nantucket Island Ma. twenty years ago.
I worked in the hotel/Inn business @ The Jared Coffin House on Nantucket, so I know the industry.
Again, very nice property

Beautiful Home
This is a beautiful home that is well-stocked with anything you might need. The views are stunning, and the dock was great for fishing and dolphin-watching. (Just don’t plan to dock a boat at it.) The location was convenient to everything, and we loved being able to rent the golf cart with it! Very enjoyable stay!

The home was excellent and we had a fantastic time.
The house was neat and clean. We had plenty of room to cook, eat and play games at night. Both bathrooms are updated and clean. Our favorite room was the back room with all the windows where we could watch the night sky and any lighting storms off in the distance. My 17 year old son is hard to please and he said this was one of his favorite vacations ever.
