On the ground level, an oceanfront pool provides a refreshing spot to read, relax or refresh after a day in the sand. While this magnificent home is oceanfront, beach access is tide contingent. At high tide, which occurs twice daily, the beach is mostly inaccessible. There is not direct beach access from the home, rather it is just one house down in either direction. You won't miss the ocean when you have spacious balconies, a rooftop deck, mesmerizing waves, ocean breezes and your own seaside pool.
From the outdoor staircase or private elevator, guests enter the residence and are greeted with stunning ocean views to the east and four spacious bedrooms to the west. The living area features a space for dining, den and an open kitchen with gourmet appliances and island seating. The living area has 180 degree views and a wraparound balcony for enjoying the view and ocean breeze.
Each of the four bedrooms has an en suite bath. The master bedroom is spacious with a King bed and the en suite has a garden soaking tub. The “children’s bedroom” features two sets of bunk beds.
The penthouse features hardwood floors throughout, detailed architectural finishes and beautiful furnishings.
Above the penthouse is a rooftop deck that spans the entire footprint of the house. The deck is a wonderful gathering spot that features tables and chairs for al fresco dining, a grilling area with running water, and a sitting area to take in the Atlantic Ocean views. Both the rooftop deck and pool are shared with guests renting the residence on the two floors below the penthouse residence.
During the summer months, The Shiphouse condos requires all three floors to be rented for seven-night minimum stay with a Saturday-to-Saturday schedule only.

We had a wonderful time in this condo. It is in a great location and beach access is easy. Enjoyed hanging out on the balcony as well as visiting the local restaurants. We had a great horseback riding trip at Sea Island on wonderful horses and great people running the stable. Beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures made it all perfect. The condo was well stocked with what was needed and everything functioned very well. No complaints and would return.

My family and I stayed at this property 8/13/23-8/17/23 celebrating my mom’s 87th birthday. From the time we got off the elevator and walked directly into the 3rd floor “Penthouse” we were in awe. The views from the open living room, dining room and kitchen were amazing. I’ve stayed in several condos but I must say this was my all time favorite. The sunrise and sunsets were beyond gorgeous. My sisters and I walked the beach daily.
The place was super spacious with 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths as well as a laundry room. A lively balcony and to top everything off a wonderful 4th floor patio with multiple seating/dining areas and an outside kitchen with grill. The pool is a little small but fit our needs perfectly.
The location was great. We were close to the village as well as the King and Prince where we had breakfast. There are many restaurants close by and we enjoyed them all. We didn’t cook but I must say the kitchen was well stocked.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner Tim. He was so nice and gracious to us and on my Mom’s birthday he brought her a bottle of Moët which we really appreciated.
We only had one issue and it was regarding the cleanliness of the furniture in the living room. Nothing that we couldn’t live with considering everything else was A+. Tim did explain it was the end of the season and the condo was due a deep cleaning in the next couple of weeks. The rest of the condo was immaculate and we would return for another visit. Perfection

This property exceeded our expectations in every way. It was such a cool place, tons of space, unique design, right on the beach, everything you needed, the air conditioning was crazy good (important in the summer), comfy rooms...I cannot say enough. We so enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay there again. And the communication was top notch!!!

Booked this place for a last minute weekend getaway with the family. The views are amazing, access to beach was easy, and shops, restaurants and brewery were super close (walkable if it hadn’t been so rainy).

Awesome Penthouse Experience
We had an awesome experience at this property! The views were picturesque. Dolphins were a regular part of the view as they swam by.
The penthouse condo was everything interested parties can see in the photos! Plus there’s an elevator that serves the third floor and the rooftop lounging area!
Our family had members from 3 years old to over 80 years old, and everyone had a blast! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable! And impressive dining options are within a short walk…. Very nice after a day on the beach and in the beautiful pool!
We Highly recommend this property for folks who are heading to St Simons Island!!!

Beautiful views of the ocean. Very spacious. Nice size bedrooms and baths. Kitchen well equipped and within walking distance to the town pier and shops. Management very responsive and accommodating.

We stayed at the Shiphouse a couple years ago and made it a point to go back and bring new people with us to experience the house, the view, and the island. We and they were not disappointed! We’d come every weekend if we could!

We saw lots of dolphins! We were there during Hurricane Sally and had some outer band weather that played havoc with the fire alarms in the unit. Management was very responsive to take care of the issue. I would definitely go back!

Great for families or couples trip. Views are stunning. Bedrooms generous and comfortable. Perfect location for enjoying all the Village has to offer. The kitchen is not equipped for making much more than bagels and cereal, but the wet bar has lots of room for beer and wine! Enjoy and eat out!

Beautiful Beachfront Property
Our trip was impromptu so I was worried we wouldn’t find accommodations up to our normal standards. However, this property was perfect - from the beautifully decorated interior to the amazing beach and ocean views from everywhere in the condo. Everything was extremely clean and tidy for our check in. The only downside is the elevator. I could see how during peak season it could get annoying if people forgot to close both doors. But we were the only ones in the building so it was perfect for us. I especially loved going to the roof and seeing the stars at night.

Perfect family retreat
We absolutely loved the shiphouse! We stayed on the third floor. The views are stunning and the layout was perfect for us. Plenty of space and it was great that every bedroom has its own bathroom. Beach access was super easy (we found it easiest to walk two doors down to the public access which was super close). The location was great. The rental company was very helpful and very prompt with communication. We will definitely be back and I can’t recommend this place enough!

Shiphouse 3 penthouse
Outstanding view from a very spacious and clean penthouse property. Easy walk to the beach and short drive or walk to resturants. Will definenly stay here again. Would have given it a 5 star except that the internet was out for several days. Hodnet Cooper is the best agent on the island and did everything possible to make our stay the best.

Lovely with opportunity
The facility was nice but they need upgrades to certain items/areas or to have the facility department really give the location a revamp to really make the location shine. The pool area could really be a relaxing sanctuary for visitors with the beach right at your feet. The roof is the gem of the whole stay with views that were amazing. I made recommendations to Hodnett Cooper to make the experience for future visitors better. I will make another visit to see if they took my recommendations seriously and I'll keep you posted.

Feels just like you are on a cruise ship!
This is a beautiful home, Our family of 9 all stayed on the top Pent House 3rd floor.
Hodnett Cooper Rentals did an excellent job of making sure we had everything we needed to enhance our stay. They met us at the home, gave us a walk thru, went over places to eat, things to see and do while on our stay. As we toured the home, standing in the family area looking out at the ocean, looks just like you are standing on the rear of a cruise ship looking out.. it's an amazing view. The beds were comfortable. Everything we needed was provided, towels, linens, etc. *One only thing I would suggest changing is the TVs. There is a family room TV, Master Bedroom TV, and a TV in the bunk bed room. But not in the other 2 queen bedrooms. I need a TV to fall asleep so I like TVs in all rooms. But we stayed in the master so it wasn't an issue. This is a great home and I would recommend it to anyone.
It's definitely a 5 star stay!!!
