Pricing is $475.00 base price for up to 4 guests. $40.00 per night for each additional guest per night after the first 4 guests. Children age 3 and under stay for free. 10% discount on one week stays. County tax is 13.5%.
The Hummingbird Pines House is one of very few vacation homes in Yosemite West with only two stairs into the house, making it ideal for guests of all ages. Please note: we cannot have wheelchairs or walkers in our house as they damage the floors. Our other house in Yosemite West is Hummingbird Raven House, listing #94764.
If our cabin and Yosemite are accessible, we do not cancel, modify, or refund reservations based on smoke, which is a very common occurrence in Yosemite each summer. This policy is consistent with all vacation rentals in Yosemite West.
Yosemite West is inside Yosemite National Park. It is a 25-35 minutes drive to Yosemite Valley attractions, 30 minutes to Glacier Point and 30 minutes to Mariposa Grove and Wawona. This is also the closest lodging for Badger Pass Ski Area, with downhill and cross country skiing and snowshoeing - only eight miles away from your door.
This Yosemite West home is located close to the Glacier Point Road, so you are very close to Taft Point and Glacier Point, the most spectacular views of Yosemite Valley.
This house sleeps a maximum of 8-10 people. We cannot accommodate more than 10 guests.
INTERNET AND CELL SERVICE: Please note that we do not have wifi OR satellite TV (though we do have an extensive DVD library), because trees around the house block satellite reception from the South sky. There is also no cell service in Yosemite West. Cell service is spotty in Yosemite Valley. There is free wifi available in Yosemite Valley at Degnan's Kitchen, and there are computers with wifi at the libraries in Yosemite Valley and Wawona. If you need of wifi during your stay, please see our home in Wawona, the Hummingbird Pika House, which has wifi (VRBO 1156877).
This is a large house (1700 square feet) so we require a minimum of 4 guests over the age of 3. Minimum stay of 2 nights.
Up to 2 children under age 3 stay free, 10% discount on one week stays. (Please let us know if any of your children are aged 3 and under when you fill out the inquiry form.)
The upstairs master bedroom has a king size bed and bath. Downstairs are two additional bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. We have an upstairs loft area with two single beds, and a fold-out sofa bed in the downstairs living area which sleeps 2. All beds have comforters and pillows.
This house is equipped with a full kitchen and a large dining table. There is a bbq and dining furniture on the deck, which is a wonderful place to enjoy dinner and watch the sunset.
Like most homes in Yosemite West, Hummingbird Pines House does not have air conditioning. We do have individual room fans. Our location is 6,000 feet elevation, so generally remains cooler than Yosemite Valley.
We no longer accept dogs, no exceptions.

Larger than we expected and more attractive. Beautiful surroundings and 25 minutes from the Valley. Family really enjoyed time in the river!

While the location was excellent, the property is very worn. Carpeting is caked with years of dirt. Sheets are thin and ripped. Towels need to be replaced.
4.7
Over all the stay was very enjoyable. It is a very good place to stay if you are wanting to disconnect from the internet, and cell phone. It was a shock to the two grand kids that are always on their phones.
The house could use a few up grades like the stove, and bbq grill. We were a little fearful to use the grill that had a control knob taped off with electrical tape. The deck could use a good pressure wash to get rid of the grease and cob webs that were on the ceiling.

The location saved us lots of "waiting in line time" by being within the park entry gate. ( It is in a neighborhood, not secluded) The photos of the house living room do not do it justice - it has lots of wood and beautiful vaulted ceilings. However the showers are a blast from the past and their doors need replacing. The carpet, oven, and microwave were the nastiest I have ever seen! It is not housekeeping's fault - they old appliances need to be thrown away! Your mother and VRBO would be ashamed... This home has great potential for a wonderful getaway; it just needs some TLC.

The property is very convenient for a visit to Yosemite and is located inside the park. The location is good with parking for 2 cars and plenty of room for up to 8 people. There is good cooking equipment and lots of room to sit. There is no internet, TV or cell service at the cabin. The carpets are quite stained and generally things are a bit shabby, but generally clean and spacious.

Great to be staying inside National Park entrance. Makes it so convenient.

Comfortable family home in need of some updating …. old appliances, old kitchen and bathrooms. As we walked around the neighborhood we saw many homes with satellite dishes that had obvious internet connectivity. We understand that is probably expensive, but at the price we paid for only two nights not in season, we feel internet access should have been provided.
4.7
Enjoyed our stay there! Only gripe is that the property was harder to spot in the night with porch lights off. A reflective sign board by the side of the road would help.

Away from the madness of crowds in Yosemite Valley (but close enough to get to hikes in the early morning), very close to Glacier Point (we went for sunrise multiple times), this is a great spot to stay in Yosemite while mostly avoiding crowds.
The entrance from Fresno also had no lines whatsoever when we entered (as did Tioga Pass on the day we went to Mono Lake).
Note: there is no TV or Wifi or cell service at this location - which my family really enjoyed!
4.7
Loved the place, it is a little older built in the 80's I'd imagine. There is no cell service or wifi so plan ahead for that.

This is a spacious, lovely home inside the park. We really enjoyed the location, quiet neighborhood, easy access to the park. Great communication with the hosts too. Comfy beds, good kitchen for meal prep, nice dining area. Would visit again.

Michelle was very prompt with communication and procedures

The location of this property is ideal for exploring Yosemite; it is within the national park. The house is a good size. The decor is dated and the amenities are less than anticipated. Bring your own coffee and tea. There is no wireless or WiFi. The entertainment consists of older DVD movies and games. Overall, the level of hospitality seemed lacking given the cost of the rental.
4.7
Overall very nice. A few issues that the owners said they would ask housekeeping to address, but nothing that would rule out staying there again.

Electrical outlets in some areas did not work. Ice roads made leaving an issue as ice melted then froze overnight.
Overall a nice house and enjoyable stay.

Our family of five enjoyed our stay in this cabin just inside Yosemite! It was an idyllic retreat. Comfy beds, spacious common area, well-stocked kitchen supplies. Would definitely return!

Spacious house with a great kitchen. A lovely neighbour with deck surrounded by beautiful trees.

Had a great time. Location was great. Plenty of room for everyone. Had small issue with grill. Host responded very quickly and resolved issue. The deck does need a bit of repair. Some of the nails are popping up. Could be a problem for anyone walking barefoot or small children. Overall enjoyed our stay and had a great time.

This a great "retreat" cabin. I had assumed there would be wifi but was pleasantly surprised not to have any - data services in Yosemite are very limited, so none at home too led to a pleasant digital detox! There was no AC but a few fans we could use to cool the house in the afternoon/evening, which was fine for us. There were a few things that were not a huge deal but ought to be addressed: Sink plungers in bathrooms didn't work, there was a broken chair on the deck, outdated local info and books, DVD collection was ancient, puzzle missing a lot of pieces.

Charming and just 20 minutes from most iconic Yosemite View
This home has a nice layout, lots of rooms to accommodate larger groups/families and a decent location. Would love if they had satellite or some type of connection to TV, etc, but they made it clear in description and it was nice to disconnect. Stopped at Tunnel View vista every morning and night where there is cell service to get updates on email/text/directions etc. Its a great vacation location

We really enjoyed staying at this property. It was nice to visit Yosemite valley and then drive 20-25 min to enjoy the peace & quiet of the cabin. It is in a great location with a deck that looks into the tree tops. The kitchen was well equipped, but there were no condiments or seasonings. We would stay here again.
