I booked the property because it was near the Cade Museum. Since my last visit, I now know the downtown area has become very sketchy
Hotel was surrounded by questionable activity, vagrants, etc. Front desk refused to show me a room prior to check in. Downtown Gainesville is not where you want to stay with young children. While on the phone with Hilton Honors, a vagrant on a bicycle with no brakes hit my car and left a 6" gash on the rear quarter panel. Despite this, front desk refused to grant a refund, and I had to go through Booking.com to get the charge denied.

Did not know I was going to have to pay for parking
4.1
Friendliness of staff, flexibility with bookings, cleanliness, room size and amenities, location.
Breakfast: everything was plastic (albeit recyclable) but spoons were too small and forks broke. Hot food options were quite restricted.

Breakfast was great. We appreciated the variety for our family.

The location in downtown
The room was unacceptable. Musty smell, dirty feeling carpet, and I was given an accessible room (without my knowledge ) that felt like a hospital. The lighting was terrible. It was advertised to have parking but I had to find on street parking at night to avoid a $30 nightly fee. I thought the property looked old and tired and needs to be renovated. The price was too expensive for the poor quality of the furnishings and room condition.

Rooms where clean
No parking available and breakfast food was cold. It seem that they made the omelets the night before and had in the refrigerator. Very Poor selection.

Downtown, comfortable
Breakfast, paper plates and plastic cutlery
4.1
The location, the breakfast
The lotion bottle was empty, the shower gel was empty. I was traveling with 3 boys that was confirmed in reservation. I had to ask for towels constantly. After staying a night I requested to have my room cleaned and came home from a long day to have my old towels taken and 2x bath towels there. So I again had to ask for more towels. My beds were not made and nothing was picked up.

Breakfast was nice. Typical hotel spread. Plenty of options. Room was nice and clean. Fully stocked with anything we needed. The fridge and microwave came in handy.
I wasn't expecting the parking situation to be an added cost. Maybe I missed this detail when booking, but this hotel has no free parking of its own. Only valet or parking garage at $30/night. It was an unexpected expense I hadn't planned for. It was also a bit noisy on the street below. It would have been better if we were there to see the nightlife, but we were only there to sleep and leave the next morning.

The hotel is very well maintained, and the attention was excellent.
The options for breakfast were very few.

Nothing. From initial check in by an extremely poor groomed "night manager?" to his inability to comprehend " handicap necessities" one of the Hilton family should pay a visit to this hotel and lock the doors until it can be brought up to today's standards. To make matters worse, the one room we were assigned access into the bathroom was unattainable since the door was installed backwards and using a mobility scooter, there was no room to maneuver with the limited opening. Each room has a TUB which, for the most part, handicap individuals cannot climb over to use. With all this said, at the very minimum, we would think a full refund is in order. When we tried to contact Hilton from our room for assistance, both representatives spoke very limited English making the stay even more difficult as we've trusted Hilton over the years to provide quality which from this reservation has proven not to be the case. Extensively described in "What did you like?" Nothing!

Dear official. Unfortunately, the pillowcases, sheets and bedding in your room contain mites, that is, house dust mites, that can cause itching. Most of the room was also dusty. For this reason, my wife and I, especially me, experienced extreme itching and redness of the eyes. It was impossible for us to sleep in the hotel in this state. We left the hotel and requested a refund. The hotel official just sent a message that they would attach a copy of the receipt for the stay. We did not stay at the hotel any day or night. We arrived at around 6 pm and when we went to bed at 9.30-10.00, our body started to itch. Meanwhile, I took a shower to get rid of mites and dust. At around 11:00 we packed our things and left the room. We informed the staff in the lobby of the situation. You can check the entrance and exit times from the security cameras. We are requesting a refund. We kindly request you to respond to this issue and take necessary action.

Location was great. Did not eat breakfast because of food sensitivity. Nothing available to accommodate my diet.
Self parking is always an issue at that location. Need to lower price of garage parking at the hotel.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choices. Front desk staff very friendly. Sits in the heart of downtown Gainsville with a HUGE variety of restaurants around it!
Bed was very "unstable", very loud. I was afraid it was going to break.
