About this house rental
Ocean Isle Beach has a lot going for it; it's the PERFECT beach and the Seawitch is front row! Situated close to golf courses, outlet malls, musical entertainment, great seafood, and some of the most spectacular sunsets this side of the Mississippi! Come spend a long weekend or summer week in our cozy cottage right on the water where you can sit on the front porch and watch the waves roll in.
This Ocean Front Cottage on OIB is located where the island is the least crowded but the pier, puttputt, shops and restaurants are a short walk away. It is an easy walk to the Friday night concerts in the park.
The 'Seawitch', aptly named, because that is what my grandmother said she looked like as she came up out of the water from a swim, is a beautiful, family oriented, lovingly cared for, cottage style OCEAN FRONT PROPERTY at Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
This five bedroom cottage has two bedrooms with one queen-sized bed each, two bedrooms with one queen and one double bed, and one bedroom with two double beds each for a total capacity of 16 plus a baby bed in one of the rooms. We do not offer linen service, but we recommend that if you want book linens to contact Angie's Linens at Ocean Isle Beach, NC at 910-575-2788. Book early they are only open M-F 8-6. Or cut your price by bringing your own bed linens and towels.
Each year we do renovations or improvements in the spring. We are constantly upgrading and replacing items to make sure that you have a wonderful experience. This year we bought five new hybrid medium firm mattresses and they are comfy. We do take our renters suggestions to heart when planning improvements for the next year, so please make any suggestions in our on site Guest Book. We would love for you to return year after year!
Built in 1979 with the 'old style' beach cottage in mind, the kitchen, dining area and the living room are in the middle and the bedrooms on the sides of the house. The cottage has three bathrooms upstairs, a outside enclosed shower downstairs, and a place to rinse off on the pier.
The real luxury of the house though is the front porch and deck area with its rocking chairs, picnic table, and loungers. Feel the ocean breezes flow over you as your cares slip away. No need to stake your claim by arriving to the beach in the early hours of the morning, as we are on a less crowded area of the beach, so you can just walk off our pier and set up your beach chairs whenever you are ready. Then, once you have had enough sun and fun for the day, run off the beach and straight up to your cottage, take a shower in the outside shower, and sit in a rocking chair until you dry off from your swim. The clothes line is usually seen with towels and bathing suits flapping in the wind.
Make yourself some 'Frogmore Stew', throw it out on some newspapers on the large dining room table and tell the kids to dig in. Hang up some party lights and dance on the deck to some Jimmy Buffett as the sun sets in the distance. This is the cottage to take you back to a simpler time!
This house is well stocked with items that many of the rentals do not include. The kitchen is fully stocked with enough dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, etc. to feed large family. My dad thought he was Emeril so you will find all kinds of gadgets in the kitchen drawers. We also have books, games, and movies scattered around in different drawers/places for you to borrow during your stay.
For all you movie buffs and sports enthusiasts, you can sit in the living room and enjoy movies or sports on the large HDTV complete with BlueRay DVD Player and surround sound. Look out the window and watch the ocean instead of the commercials!
Focus Broadband High Speed Wireless Internet with a MERGE TV app are included. There is a flatscreen TV and Amazon Firestick in every bedroom.
Our family has been so spoiled by this beach house that to go anywhere else is a letdown. The location is perfect, you will feel a stress let down as you cross over the bridge to the island and transition to 'island time'.
Staying at the family friendly OIB is the BEST place to be, but if you long for some night life and outlet shopping, you are only a few minutes away. Myrtle Beach is only 20 - 30 minutes south, and Wilmington 45 minutes north on Hwy 17. Calabash is known for the best seafood in the nation and it is a mere 10 minutes away. If you want to catch a movie, you can head to North Myrtle Beach. Golfers, there are golf courses all around you. Adventurers you can head out to The Swamp Park on Airport Road to go on a guided ATV or Swamp boat tour or even Zip Line. Historic Southport, NC is only 35 minutes away. When we are sunburnt we forgo the beach and catch the Ferry at Southport to Fort Fisher. You will not run out of things to do.

Perfect ocean front house

It was a great week. Loved the house and the location. Had no complaints. The toilet paper dispenser in the small bathroom was at a pretty bizarre location but I have long arms so it worked.

Loved the property and location. Host is the best! Kim kept in touch throughout our short stay, because of hurricane Debby. Very very helpful and extremely understanding to our situation. I would definitely recommend this property!

This property was everything the owners said it would be. Perfect for our family. My 2 year old absolutely loved the big deck! The owners were beyond helpful and super nice. By day 2, our whole family agreed we would love to book this house again in the future!

My extended family spent a week at the Seawitch over July 4th. We were 11 total, ages from 2-68. The house had everything we needed for an easy, peaceful week. Kim was very quick in her response with any communication/question I had. We slept SO well on the new beds. We lived on the porch/beach, but were just a 10minute walk to the pier with putt putt, playgrounds, slushies, etc. The house was very clean for middle of the summer, and the children found it especially exciting to have a TV in every room :). This house is a gem, and we will absolutely be booking again! Thank you for opening up your lovely home. We made wonderful memories here!

We really enjoyed our stay. We were lucky to meet the owners who were super friendly. They left the house well stocked with extras. The walk to beach was a little challenging for us with issues. But there was a public access a couple houses down. The owners were trying to make repairs outside as we could tell from the wood pile. I do wish that we could have seen the ocean in front of house but dunes prohibit that. We would return!! Thanks.

The house is very cute and clean. The host decorated for Christmas which was a nice touch. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and flatware with plenty of cookware to make Thanksgiving dinner. The beds were very comfortable too. The house did smell musty when we first got there but after opening the windows it aired out. I would recommend this house - it was great and there was good communication with the host!

We enjoyed our visit.
We felt that the kitchen could use some fixing up. Cleaning out pots and pans.
Other than that everything was great.
Thank you

Great stay! We liked the place but thought it needed a good cleaning. (Dusty, heat/ac vents very dirty) beds where uncomfortable.

This is our 2nd year staying at this house and we are already counting the days until our next vacation here.
The location/view is perfect. Steps from the beach and then the covered deck if you want to get out of the sun, etc.
We love the old school beach house vibe with the modern kitchen.
For us and our teenage sons it was PERFECT!

We had a week with ages 4 to 87. Location was so convenient. The property is just as described. The only reason for the 4 stars on cleanliness was not the owner’s fault and easily remedied. Owners were great with communication. We hope to return to the Sea Witch!

We have stayed at this property for a good number of years and it fits our family's needs very well. So great to walk out the back door and go for a walk on the sand or a swim in the water.
We do a lot of our own cooking so we appreciate the good supply of cooking utensils, serving pieces, place settings. Enough that we only have to run the dishwasher once a day.
New living room furnishings were pretty and functional.
All in all, a great vacation!

We had a great family vacation. Clean house and very much enjoyed the comfortable beds and the new living room furniture

We loved staying at the Seawitch. We had a little trouble with the door code, but it was quickly resolved.
We had a group of 14, so our house was full! Having the deck was invaluable extension of living space.
We loved the rockers on the deck and the outdoor showers.
If you are travelling with babies/toddlers, consider bringing baby gates for the deck stairways. You'll need wide gates - there are 42" and 38" stairways. We bought them shortly after arriving so that the kids go safely go to the deck.
Overall, we were really happy! The house is close to a cute downtown area. Walkable to a nice park, lots of dinner spots, and the Coastal Carolina Museum.

We loved this house! It had the right mix of nostalgia and comfort. We all had enough space to be separate or together. The location was perfect. Not too far down the island, not too close to hotels. Close to great restaurants. We liked that it was one story since we are all senior citizens! Easy entry and exit procedures. We did not want to leave and would love to return for a longer period next time! The hosts were very friendly and accessible when we needed to contact them, this was a great fall getaway and cousins reunion.

The star of this property is the AMAZING deck! One of the top <1% views on this planet. Comfortable rocking chairs, picnic table and a separate sunset deck…primary deck allows for a closeup view of the surf with coverage if it rains. Fantastic hose/shower area on private boardwalk directly to the beautiful beach makes it easy to keep the sand out!.

Best OIB location
Comfy traditional cottage with nice porch short walk to beach over the dunes. Not too close or too far. Short walk to the pier, arcade, putt putt, Friday concert at the park, ice cream. Good beds, well stocked roomy kitchen, lots of thoughtful items provided.

Perfect family beach house!
We loved staying at the Sea Witch. The back deck overlooking the ocean was perfect and we loved having the outdoor shower and easy access to the beach. The house was fully stocked for a family with kids and even had a crib, high chair, kids cups/plates, and foot stools for little ones to reach the sinks! The location was also very convenient since we could walk up to the shops, Putt putt, ice cream and the bagel shop. Kim was also a great host and responded back quickly to any questions I had. We will definitely be back!

Another great stay
This house is perfect for relaxing. The owners are wonderful and personable to work with. We had everything we could ever need in the spacious and well laid out house. Best back porch around with plenty of chairs and rockers and I loved having breakfast at the picnic table every day. Beach was clean and not crowded. We absolutely loved our stay!

Quiet Beach Town Escape
Kim has cultivated a warm and inviting home that was phenomenal for our small family vacation. The home is just as advertised - just a very short walk to the water. You can even enjoy the sights of the ocean from the living room. You'll have immediate access to all sorts of recreational activities just around the corner including groceries, restaurants, ice cream, and beach shops. Just a short 15 minutes up the road you can venture off ziplining (if my 70 year old grandmother can do it, so can you). A wonderful stay for any family looking to get away.

Amazing location
The convenience and access made this a wonderful stay. The house has private beach access and is a short walk from the pier and restaurants. The back deck is perfect for hanging out and enjoying the ocean, without feeling like other beach-goers are on top of you. Kim and Eric were fantastic and responsive for any questions we had. Thanks for letting us share your wonderful property!

Wonderful home on the beach!
It’s a perfect home to spend a week at OIB! From sitting on the porch watching the ocean at anytime, to the short walk down to the beach. It has five bedrooms, three bathrooms all with TVs and an outside shower. We were able to grill out and eat on the picnic table by the ocean, hang all our clothes to dry, wash off with the hose and water bucket from sandy walks and the kitchen was roomy and perfect for hanging out! Lots of book to read and just such cute beach decor that made us feel at home! The owners are amazing and quick to respond! It’s so close to everything you can walk and we will definitely stay here again! 💙

I've always wanted to stay in "that beach house".
I've stayed in hotels on the beach before, but nothing compares to this beach house. It was close, easily accessible, parking under the house, plenty of room for all 12 of us and for the day visit from my sisters and their husbands which added another 5 people! Popping out to buy fresh sea food and cooking it ourselves, cooking breakfast and having a place to let the baby nap while others played on the beach, my son-in-law even remote worked during the day. Hard to describe the quiet in the evenings with just the crash of the waves, sitting on the deck and watching the storm clouds roll by, sitting around the large family table for meals and evening games. This was a vacation that truely meant family.
